UPDATE: its better to actually cut the ABS fuse under the hood (don't cut the ignition part of the fuse) this way you wont have the chance of loosing your tach speed by disconnecting the ABS plug!
Cut the fuse? Or pull the fuse?
Nick Kaye cut the 2 fuses labeled as “ABS” with a pair of side cutters, just be sure not to cut the 3rd fuse labeled as “ignition”
Do you have a forum post to link to this with a diagram?
You're saying "Cut a fuse"? I'm guessing there's a wire I'll want to cut.
04 G35 coupe owner.
I installed a switch, to cut off Ground to the Yaw sensor and it works great. (Just in case you want traction for daily driving)
I haven't disabled ABS yet, but in my last drift event, I couldn't left foot brake. Straightened me right out lol.
@@AlexDane56 I thought the same thing when I read cut, but it literally is a fuse that you snip the connection of the fuse
@@raregarageauto2480 thanks again for the info, just did this today by cutting the fuse to the ABS under the hood and disconnecting the yaw sensor...Do I still need to unplug the gray plug?
hey guys, good information. I would recommend instead of doing these all or nothing changes, install some switches on the dash. especially the brake light one where you're cutting the wire, you could splice in a wire going to a switch instead and that would be pretty cool actually to be able to turn it on and off. I wouldn't know how to switch an entire wire loom connector but I'll bet it's not all of those wires that need to be switched but just the power wire. If you were to disable just the power wire on the ABS connector, that probably would accomplish the same thing as popping the whole connector off. so you could end up with three switches: ABS, brake, yaw.
this is literally the only video on youtube showing the correct way to do this. thanks guys
Caleb Quanbeck thanks man, we enjoy watching your videos! 🙏
Caleb Quanbeck says you lol
The fuse is the better route because you wont lose your speedo. Also all you really need to do is the ecu pin
Which method will make you lose your Speedo?
Following
@@dakotamadigan8555 disconnecting the abs wiring connector next to the brake booster, I'm guessing the wheel speed sensor talks through the abs.
Is there a way to have it so I install a button to turn on/off the abs?
This would be the best solution ever, would be great if you did a video explaining it as well as you explained in this video.
Get three pieces of wires, pull out your abs fuse, get an inline fuse of the same capacity, put one wire into one side of where your fuse came from, then wire a toggle or button toggle to the inline fuse, and a wire from the toggle to the other side of where your fuse came from.
If you do that, carry a fire extinguisher 😂
A simple toggle switch to your brake pedal switch did this for me. You loose brake lights and get vdc/abs lights on dash. To go back to daily driving, turn car off, flick toggle, then start car and everything's back to normal
Super well done mate ! Thanks for concise / clear video on all the steps, the left foot brake piece was great, cross referenced it w/ the FSM & boom done. You guys rock.
I see a lot of confusion about this you guys need to do a full break down of how to do this
Very tempting to do this to my G, but I'm just worried about anything else going wrong, how is it holding up? No one has had any problems?
You’d have to wire a switch along with other stuff, I’m not educated in wiring, but I’ve seen someone do a similar tactic to bypass and completely disable traction control
Removing yaw sensor will effect timing about 3 degrees just a heads up.
What?!? Is this true? How do you know? Does it advance or retard timing? Can it be tuned back to spec? Thx.
@@Simnettnutrition it will remove timing
@@Simnettnutrition info from a Nascar background Soho Motorsports Time attack g35 tuner on 350.com

@@philipholman1713 Thank you for the info and reply. I would like to read anything you have on it. Tuning is probably a good idea at this point then correct? I track my car and got tired of the VDC stepping in and cutting power when exiting turns, but obviously don't want to harm my engine for it.
do i disconnect the battery first ??
YES
Good info! Which size are those rims? R17 or R18? asking because I have R19 on mine and looking to swap to R17 but not sure how they are going to look =/ Yours looks great!
You guys are the only ones who properly explained what a yaw sensor does thank you but if I just cut the ground wire will that still work too?
Cobe Latsha if you mean cutting the ground to the yaw sensor I’m sure that would stop it from working properly but if your plan is to possibly use it in the future it’s probably a lot easier to disconnect it or install a toggle switch, so you won’t have to deal with crimping wires to get things working again!
Okay I’ll probably try that then
How do I know pin101 is the brake light wire
Cobe Latsha check for a Field service manual (FSM) for your car online and look for the ECU pinout diagram. It will tell you which number pin is for your break lights 👍
@@cobelatsha8483 close your eyes and randomly pick a wire and cut it!!!
Just kidding, don't do that!
Supporting your channel @Z-speed!!!
So I cut my pin101 and now my car won’t start. Any ideas?
So don’t unplug the ABS plug? Cut it instead?
I heard there's a tune that makes the abs lock the front tires
this z sounds really good, what exhaust does it have and any other mods to make it sound like that?!!
iv tried everhthing, i have a stillen supercharged g35 and it still feels like it cuts power when it get on the brakes. car has brembos, does that make it more difficult to do standing burnouts or? it feels like when im on the brakes it wont rev up.
My 350 doesn’t have that under the armrest
pretty sure a previous owner of the g35 did this as no matter what, ABS stays off. How do I reverse this?
just push the two side tabs in on the side of the connector? yaw sensor
Good stuff, do the break light still work doh, im asking to see if i put a switch in orther to do it whenever i want or just cut it
Does disconnecting that wire harness affect speedo and tach? I've heard it does
Bought a g35 with switches wired in for vdc and abs, but I went caveman and just pulled the fuses out 😂 vdc, slip, abs lights are always on now
I got 2004 Nissan convertible The connection that should be located on the brake and clutch reservoir is missing. can someone help me where i can find it
after cutting pin 101 does anyone know a good switch i can buy to put in-between the cut wires? i have no idea what im doing with wiring and all... all i know is i can strip the wire ends and connect something in-between for like a On-Off Switch.
Make sure the switch is rated for at least 10amps, as long as you have that sorted you shouldn’t have any issues
is the wire the same color for g35 coupes
When doing this will there be lights on the dash and if so how to remove them
That’s what I want to know cause I already have the light on I want them off now but can’t figure out y they on everything checked out fine
I have a auto g35 2004 if i cut the VDC fuse and the ABS fuse will the ABS actautor still work I'm just wondering
Will I lose my brake lights all together ? Is this the same for a 04
And how do I get the lights back off
Grant Ragans this will be the same instructions for a 04. You won’t lose your break lights when cutting the ECU wire. The wire going to the ECU is only used to send information to the ECU that the breaks are being applied and that information is used by the computer to limit the amount of fuel/gas you can apply at the pedal to around 3-4K rpms. If done correctly you will be able to apply the breaks and also give it gas over 4K rpms!
Grant Ragans in order to regain regular functions of the car (no lights on the dash) you just have to put everything back. You can install a toggle switch on the yaw sensor power wire (so you don’t have to remove everything each time) and you’ll have to re-crimp or soldier the ECU break wire. It’s better to go the extra mile if this is your daily and installing switches!
Quick question if anyone can help pick up a 2004 Nissan 350Z Roadster was looking for but yaw sensor location pull the center console and nothing was there is there any suggestions on what am I supposed to do? And does the Tcs mess with the car or limits it?
Is there anywhere to check which wire it would be on a 2005 350z?
I did lose my break lights 😂
G35 slightly different got the right pin but it is what it is
Will this take the car out of limp mode???????
I have the automatic 350z and can’t find the YAW sensor please help!!!
It’s my daily driver
I had the same problem. I have a auto 08 350z and there was no yaw sensor by the center console. I think we just have to pull a fuse but I’m not sure where exactly the right brake fuse is located. Lmk if you find out !
The yaw sensor is still in the center console. I have an auto g35 and it’s further behind the shifter it should say “botch” on it
I don’t have a yaw sensor ????? Manual 03 350z
@@johnmirzahi3648 Do you have a VDC car? What does it say on your traction control button?
I cant seem to find the yaw sensor and i have a 350z 2003 it wasn't behind my shifter where it is supposed to be
From my understanding base model does not have a YAW sensor
Is this the same for 2008 350z? any ideas, im struggling.
So does this make it a lot easier to lose traction all the time and probably not safe for daily driving?
This is my question as well
VDC, ABS,and SLIP lights will still be on, right?
Khalil Bussey you are correct sir!
RARE GARAGE AUTO my abs light doesn’t stay on ? Could it be the switch? Does it need to stay on?
So my 2005 Nissan 350z doesn’t have the yaw sensor? Like it’s not where it should be! So is there another way to take off traction control?
I’m having the same issue on my 04 we’re u able to figure it out?
What size tires u got on her?
Why not wire a switch to the Gyro sensor and Brake ECU wire and turn them both off and on when needed? And this way you can keep your ABS connector plugged in.
How do u do this ? Been wanting to do this on my g35 but I want a switch so I don’t have a bunch of lights on my dash
Would you recommend keeping abs for track/spirit driving?
yes, you may want to hook up a switch instead for regular/daily driving!
Will all of these work for a de G ?
Damn just got to the Pin 101 part, I’ve heard about this before I think Infiniti may have a different color wire imma check when I get off work but mine is 03’ as well
That looks like blue and pink
Anybody know about the wire color for a 2007 m45
why u guys didnt jus tap the fuse ??? alot more easy and less work . jus hav an extra fuse this way u can switch it out whenever u want . ima send u 2 links to check out . by doing the fuse mine is fully disabled . brakes are no longer spongy and i can brake stand now
FOREVER G35 hey man would you mind sending me those?

i believe so but just check the FSM to make sure, you should be able to find it on google with a little searching.
RARE GARAGE AUTO will do thanks for the reply good video too 🤟
Will I lose my speedo this way?
Only if it fits loosely. Buy the correct size and you wont have to worry
Any lights on the dash when doing this ?
yes, all of your lights pertaining to the braking system will illuminate on your dash when done correctly!
yoo a quest bro: Is the wire the same ofr G35 03 vq35de?? is the wire same colour same location 101??
sorry but i dont think its the same color on a G35, if you search for G35 FSM and check the wire color on pin 101 of the ecu pin out you should be able to find it!
@@raregarageauto2480 yea bro i found it was different color but same pin 101... been doing burnouts like crazyy, but im cuting my rear brakes also so wont damage anything as for burnouts always
What color was the wire on yours? I cut the blue and orange and now my car won't start so now I have to solder it back together lol.
@@samsackmann2319 the only one blue and pink for g35
Will it work for the 2005 350z??
Snagsr yes, just check your FSM to verify the color of the ECU wire!
Automatics or only manual?
This doesn't work at all you need a tune for burnout mod
People don't do this to your dailys. This is legit something you do to your project car ONLY
i currently daily this car with no issues! ;-)

yes it is the same, just check the FSM to double check the wire color from the ECU.
