Feel like I just saw the entire movie in 3:42
And it sucked.
Well, if you haven't lived under some rock for the last ~20 years you should at least come across the musical once or twice, the story is therefore well known already, as it seems they follow the musical with close detail and minor additions.
I mean.. I could spoil the MANY twists that the trailer didn't show....
That felt like the whole movie in a matter of minutes…

@watchmehope6560 why you so mad. Everyone makes mistakes and does stuff they regret. He's a great Actor. Game Of Thrones. I Care Alot. She Came To Me. Cyrano. Songbirds And Snakes. He's a phenomenal actor and I love everything he's in. Makes every movie he's in extremely watchable. Focus on his achievements not his mistakes

The fact that the trailer showed too much aside, I am so excited for this. I absolutely loved the Broadway musical. Arianna Grande and Cynthia Erivo are amazing vocalists. I love the technicolor color palette. The CGI doesn’t bother me. Is it over the top? Yes. But what about OZ isn’t?

The stage show is like 3 hrs long, so they’re splitting it in half.
@@notavailable2590That’s stupid! There are plenty of successful movies that are three hours long. They could’ve fit the whole musical into one runtime if they wanted to. Face it, splitting it into two parts is just a big marketing ploy.
The only thing good about the play is the music, and even that sounds surprisingly lackluster here. Neither singer seem very emotionally invested. No one will ever beat Carrie St. Louis as Galinda.

It's going to be a long movie. Two of them if I remember correctly. They announced they are splitting it into two sections I believe. I guess to include more stuff from the book maybe? I know there's new songs not in the broadway play.

@@Macburger1900 - i believe the intent behind a good trailer is to peak curiosity, gain interest & compel the viewers to watch the movie upon release. This trailer did not do that for me. Just my opinion. I know you want to see this movie so enjoy it. But it will be a solid PASS for me

They already did a prequel for Wizard of Oz, called Oz the Great and Powerful back in 2013; and it dealt with the origins of the wicked witch. Do they really need another one?
Yes because this is a different thing. It’s based on a book from the 90’s which then got a musical adaptation on broadway
There’s like 3 different Wizard of Oz musicals.
This story isn’t canon to the original books or any other movies taking place in that world. So don’t worry. This is based on the musical that has been on broadway for 20 years. It has many fans that have looked forward to it for probably more than a decade.

I wish this story was darker that way it’s realistic cuz the actual story is no heart warming story let’s just say there’s a lot of death in it.
