This is the first time I have noticed that Anderson is Mark Hale's middle name. Quite fitting actually, and I can think of no Mass Effect captain more deserving.

I do enjoy the fact that this story arc has many missions that engage with diplomacy. It provides both variety to the gameplay and helps the game enhance it's tone of Star Trek-ness.
Even though it highlights the budgetary & technical limitations of game, it’s nice that combat has been more desensitised given how combat heavy the early game quests are.
The "we don't have much time" thing always gets me.

Yeah, Cryptic has gone out of their way to try to get as many of the original cast as they could. It makes certain characters much more bittersweet.

You would think that the Federation might actually notice that ANY Peace Conference that they send Admiral Hale to, ends in gunfire, grenades, and timey wimey genocidey. Granted these are the same intergalactic genius's that think packing Starship Bridge Consoles with thermal explosives' makes them run better. "Dear Admiral Hale, in recognition of all of your work, and all you have done to... I mean for the peoples of this Galazies, we are happy and relived to assign you to our fleets newest ship. The USS/IKS Gok'Tad! The Ferry of the Dead! We figure this will cut out the middle man and avoid having to keep sending the Death Ship out to follow you."

Thirty-three seconds this time, from the delegates sitting down at 14:20 to disaster striking at 14:53. That _has_ to be a record for Hale's bad luck ruining yet another ceremony.

It's funny how watching you play this game for me is like watching an episode of Star Trek on TV. Thank you for editing and sharing.
The other cool thing for me is his commentary is so good that it can double as a radio drama so I can enjoy it while exercising.
Huh, having Rom, Garak and Kira is new. Cryptic must have added them to the mission following the ViL expansion.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around _Kai_ Kira Nerys. Not something I would've thought off the top of my head. It does make sense, what with her having served for seven years at the feet of the Emissary would give more clout than anything else but it's still "weird".
That Tellurite Security Guard's greeting must have been heavily rehearsed. How contrary to typical Tellurites. They are well known for their love of debate and insult.
Males love to debate and insult. Females are a bit more polite but know how to throw an insult or two when need be.
It's been a few weeks since I played through this mission, but the main thing I remember is Walker running around from console to console, and not being able to find him in the wonky shaped Na'kuhl ship interior when we're supposed to be covering him.
Even when he does that, he's hitting 4 different ones, and you can create choke points to keep the Nakhul from overwhelming you, if you're careful.

The two piece is great on away team members as it generates a draw fire decoy and grants temporary invulnerability. The three piece just adds a meh seeking mine ability.

Hale's dialog is hilarious, now probably more than ever.
As we near the the precipice of the 100th episode of the STOSS series, our collective hope, across all races that stand as part of this group, and many others who are here merely as observers, quietly hope for an extra special episode to mark such a glorious achievement.
I think Episode 100 will be Ragnarok.

I think it does make sense for Kira to become Kai--not only does she care deeply about her people, she was the confidant of the Emissary (which made her important enough for even Kai Winn to seek her counsel), the vessel of the Prophets during the incident with the Kosst Amojan, and the lover of Vedic Bareil. After Winn is outed as having murdered people in the service of the Pah-wraiths, had a brief affair Dukat (even though she didn't know his true identity), and basically sealed Sisko in the fire caves, I'm sure that people will with hindsight see Bariel as the rightful/true kai and the victim of Winn. All of that together makes her the most theologically significant person left standing. Even if she doesn't want the position, people will still treat her with respect and deference for those reasons. Just like Sisko didn't seek out the title of Emissary and was forced to adapt to it, Kira could be thrown into the spotlight and forced to adapt.

I wish we could do more of choosing a comical response like you adlib sometimes. it's too funny
I barely scraped through this mission the first time, and then I grinded it an additional four agonizing times to get the shields for my BOFFs. And it wasn't until my third try that I managed to prevent any ships from using the portal. It required my full fighter wing, deployable escort, and a heavy antiproton sat to guard my back and destroy incoming ships while I went nose hot on the station and plastered it with everything I had.
Also, poor Admiral Hale sounds like he's going to cry when he's informed that Archer stopped the general XD
Stock Legendary Akira and Kodai fighters. 20 seconds of the portal and it was closed to the others. It was tough when the fleet arrived though.
@@barrybend7189 These days with my fully built tetryon beam boat/shield tank I can crack the portal in under a minute
@@CaptainRhodor yeah but 20 seconds with just the maelstrom torpedoes and torpedo spread 3. The cutscene of the small Nahkul fleet was just over and it was at half health.

Do you plan on doing a refit for this vessel?
I took a carrier to deal with the destiny, I am thankful glad I grinded the iconian missions for their gear.
I also replaced the fighters for the larger defiant like ships.
Made the space fight much easier.
In the ship itself My character is engineering so I had drones and turrets made the fight easier.
I never liked science nor tactical officers, felt that they had too many drawbacks compare to eng.
I recently did it with the Legendary Akira. The fighters and the Akira itself were very good. The portal was taken out in 20 seconds due to the maelstrom torpedoes.
Picard also quoted Jefferson too.
This is my highlight thing to watch and relax to in a bath on Thursday 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Na'kuhls are the Krogans of Star Trek. One had Genophase and they have their star blown out by the Slarians.. uhm, Tholians.
Not exactly a solid comparison since the Tholians aren't part of the Alliance yet the Na'khul blame us as well as them anyway wheras the Salarians were solidly a Citadel race.
@@Lans32485 I think by signing temporal accords, Tholians become something similar to citadel race, if you remove time travel from the equation.
The Tholians are the only race other than Iconians to not use time travel. They know of it but don't use it. But hilariously they caused the mess with the Nakul to begin with.

The tragic irony is that the Nakul's attempts at avenging themselves by attacking civilizations in the past is most likely what led to the Tholians trying to wipe them out by extinguishing their star... ...which is what provoked the Nakul in the first place.
Not likely, EXACTLY what happened, since an attack on the Tholians in the 23rd century led to their actions against them in the 25th.
The cycle of revenge is a big theme in most of the major story arcs.
I don't really remember Rom and Garak interacting very much during the run of DS9 and i can understand why.
But i can only imagine how VERY interested garak would be in Rom after he became Nagus

How in the world did ROM become Grand Nagus? And I’m glad Narys became Kai.
Considering how every summit/meeting/signing/etc that he attends gets attacked, you’d think that they would stop inviting him to parties.
The Na'kuhl time portal looks like the Vorlon thirdspace portal. If it is they are flying into a world of hurt.

These video and timeline are soooooooo much better than the STD which has infected Star Trek.
Honestly, CBS owns STO and the storylines therein. They could've lifted the bulk of it, made some tweaks, and saved some cash on their writer's room and 25 producer credits.

With time travel forward and backward becoming no more than a matter of activating a "temporal shift" drive,
what stops people with access to this technology from embarking on personal agendas?
Going back in time to stop their former selves from making a horrible mistake for example,
stopping an accident from happening in order to save lives,
or even going into the future to steal medicines to heal horrible sicknesses of the past?
There is also the constant threat of evil intent,
going back in time to murder some one's parents before they were born,
or changing a situation so that the winners lose and the losers win, in order to affect a long chain of events?
Governments could be overthrown by stopping them before they began.
Absolutely there would be ripples, possible other, unforeseen consequences,
but that would not stop some one who really only cared about their own plans.
The Temporal Accords? That is just politics.
Would some one else signing an agreement be enough to stop you

Sorry, but I'm just not buying Kira in that office. Was she religious? Yes, but no more so than most Bajorans, and at the same time, she always came across as much too practical, on the nose and in the end, secular, more the sort who would make the Militia her life.
EDIT: I'd buy her as a diplomat, as Bajor's Ambassador to the Federation Council, but not as this. Much too out of the blue.
EDIT EDIT: Garak is the man. I will die on that hill.
The Kai is a spiritual leader and major diplomat for Bajor. And I suspect part of it was as a favor to Sisko.

(Spoiler Alert: Kai Opaka is freed from the planet she was trapped on during the Gamma Quadrant arc, and Kira happily gives her back her position as Kai, returning to Starfleet to help with the current crisis.)

That Telarite Woman was not A very convincing example of one of her species, especially being a descendent of Gral. she was way too perky then how most of them are portrayed, and not confrontational in the slightest. Definitely not a typical Telarite
You know I really don't like the nakul I mean don't get me wrong they have a right to be angry but. I think it's the federation's fault for not allowing them to go back in time and fix their sun. And prevent this whole thing from happening. They were much rather have them as an enemy than an ally it seems.
or for that matter why not just go back in time in eradicate. the tholians I don't think nobody would miss them. And people would just move on with their lives without the foliage and space to be a lot more easier without these obsessive spider people.
See that's the problem. The Na'Kul went back in time to eliminate the Tholians which is what caused the Tholians to attack Na'Kul in the 25th century. Its a Paradox.

Also, it was the incursions from the 29th Century Na'kuhl that made the Federation hesitant about offering aid to the 25th Century Na'kuhl, a bit like how in Picard the Federation pulled support for the Romulan Relocation Effect.

Her being Kai/becoming more religious happened for a bit in the post-series DS9 novels too.
it is a little weird, but at the same time considering how much she struggled with her own inner conflict and how much Kai Opaca influenced her, it also doesn't surprise me that a character like her would want to contribute something to her people by being able to inspire and motivate them the way that she was.

Your ship should be alot better then it its. You should be able to destroy the end part no problem.
Kira as a kai is really out of her character... I buy almost anything in ST online, but this is too much of promoting the known characters to important posts...
