Just bought one today, brand new, out the door for $360. This gun is phenomenal for the price range, and the trigger is far beyond this price point. Trigger is amazing! Love being able to keep a striker fired weapon with one in the chamber without keeping striker spring under constant tension and wearing it out quicker.
First thing I did was apply a thin coat of gun oil on the slide and barrel. Never run any gun right out the box. Coming from a long line of shooters Great gun for paying 395.00 for mine. They call it the "Glock killer"
I've had my TP9DA for a year now, and have run thousands of rounds of every type imaginable through it with zero problems. Awesome trigger. I was going to replace the stock sights, but I actually love them, so they they're staying on. For me it is perfect in every way. I will probably grab another one soon.
You are really enthusiastic about the Canik handguns. I bought the Canik TP9DA and I am extremely pleased with it. So, I concur with your assessment. Thanks for your review!
I agree with 96stealth. It has the best trigger I've ever felt,....just fantastic with short reset. Mecgar magazines for 24bucks. Yes,,the pistol comes in different finishes. I only wish the tp9da had a chamber indicator. Warran stock sights are pretty darn good. I'd like to see a smaller verison in .380 with 10 rd mag for conceal carry. I also own the TP9SFX ,....a competition ready , out of the box unit. I loveem both. What a great bargain too.
I love my TP9DA, I'm at around 3000 rounds I think and I've yet to have the first problem. 0 misfires, jams, or failure to eject. The only thing I did was paint the rear sight U red so the front white dot shows up between the red very well.
I've owned two Canik pistols previously and sold them. I regretted it immediately both times... I've got a TP9DA on order in bronze. They are very well made, the ergos are great & you would be hard put to find a gun with a better OEM trigger. Can't wait to get my hands on the TP9DA & I'm not selling this one!
This comment is too funny. I was having this conversation yesterday and the gentleman was saying the same thing you just said. I am glad you love yours like we love ours.
I love mine too! I think it has the best trigger on the market. Better than the PPQ and the single action Caniks. The cons for me are 6:00 hold - replaced rear sight to get center hold (dovetail is the same as glocks😀) It’s a little flippy which is fine but it causes a little bounce which isn’t good for an optic. Took my optic off. Prefer iron sights for the gun. I have a little over 2000 rounds through mine (about 800 were with the optic) zero malfunctions!
I have this gun as well and the trigger actually helped me learn to shoot and be accurate. I had issues until I found this gun. Only con is that you can’t ad an optic without having it milled.
I’ve been wanting the da for a while. I have the tp9v2 and sf... I love my canik was well but prefer the v2 over the sf. I have heard that the da’s only difference is the decocker is only on one side of the slide...
Also, I've yet to buy it, but the beretta 30 round mag will fit the canik with a simple modification to let it lock in. You can find a video explaining it on youtube.
Nice video 😎 So, I took my Glock .380 to the range & all the guys nearly laughed me out of the place 😆 (great guys really) basically they were telling me that as a woman, I should not be afraid to owning this type of gun other than the .380. So I leveled up & my aim was better, it fits my hand & it's actually easier to use. I'm happy 💯
It’s crazy how the price has seem to go up tremendously since it first came out. I paid over 400$ for it so Caniks starting to realize what they make and charge more for their guns unfortunately
I just bought this model today but I got delayed so I gotta wait at least 3 business days to pick it up 🤷♂️in used to it by now tho cuz with every gun I've bought my background check has been delayed
Respectfully disagree. Decocker “rests” the striker spring over long periods of time. Decocker permits safer carry with a round in the chamber which is a highly desirable feature.
I love mine so far never had any problems. The only issue I'm having right now is adding a red dot. You have to buy a special adapter plate right? And that only works with certain sights? Anybody have recommendations?
Unfortunately with the decocker I don't believe a cutout can be done to add a red dot. As for light I have light valkyrie 2 in bronze on my tp9da and looks awesome.
A con for me would be the fact that they only made the barrel 4 inches. Not a deal breaker, but I just don't get the concept of the full frame grip with the 4 inch barrel.
@@GearsofGuns I get that part when it comes to the full size frame/grip, but why not give us the advantage of a longer barrel since the hardest part of the gun to conceal was made full size? I don't mind the full size frame, but why put the compact size barrel on it?
@@william629 Um..... because "you get the control of a full frame with a faster draw out of your holster" The dude literally gave you a great reason to keep it at 4 inches. And it's a direct competitor to the 19x which has a 4.02 barrel.
have the exact same pistol and love it, over 1000 rounds and no problems.

I like every thing about the canik , they are top notch guns and they have to be getting the attention of the other gun makers

I put the Galloway Procision lower power spring kit on my DA the trigger is on a different level now

Try flourescent green on the front. Use a permanent marker.

So no way to place on optic on the slide?

Look them up on Dunham’s. Their $380
you can't hit the de-cocker on a single action? I didn't know that I have a tp9v2 a da/sa with a de-cocker.
Can you put a red Dot on the tp9 sa
I’m looking to buy one when I turn 21 in a month

I am sorry to hear that. You'll love it.
He sure gave that holster a workout. Lol. Good review.
The idea of this gun is to rack it, set the trigger, and carry it in single action. The double action mode is there for second strike capability.
Respectfully disagree. Decocker “rests” the striker spring over long periods of time. Decocker permits safer carry with a round in the chamber which is a highly desirable feature.

Yes there are different plates for different foot prints. Google canik optic mounting plate.
What holsters fit this? I can’t find anything online that’s specific to that only the SF and SA. Will those fit the DA?
Yes. The sa and sf are the same size as the DA
It is the Canik holster that comes with the pistol
Is the holster only IWB or is it reversible
Hello, has anyone put any lights and or red dots on this piece. Looking to add some to mines. Thanks

It comes with the Canik. it is their "range" holster.

magazines are hyper scarce

18 round mag? I count 17 shots.
