It’s because in texting and other forms of written communication, I can edit and proofread what I say. Outside, however, offers no chance of taking back or editing what you said as a safeguard against making a fool out of yourself.

I do have a lot of anxiety, especially talking or presenting in my online classes. I easily hyperventilate. I told my class and prof I had anxiety and to wait a moment to catch my breathe and my class and prof was surprisingly respectful and understanding and was proud of me for speaking about it and used me as an example for others.
That's amazing, what a great prof for herding the class into decent human territory..

When I had my first zoom call I had an anxiety attack!
Everyone’s on mute and no camera in my chat. So I can be as disgusting as I want!!
No one would talk and I was one of the few people that had my camera on and it was just super stressful and draining.
The worst was getting put into a breakout room with someone you had never spoken with in real life.
@Caleb Mayfield some schools don't care enough to take attendance or the classes are too big so they just trust you. If you arent listening it doesnt really matter as long as you take the test and get a good enough grade.
I think this should be titled “every socially anxious person ever” instead. Super accurate for social anxiety

I was exactly thinking that. I´m really introvert and i don´t give a single fuck of what other people think about me, i´m just happy with my alone time. It has nothing to do to be afraid or incorfontable with talking to people. I can talk to people, i just don´t want to.
While watching this all I could think was, is this what people think being an introvert is like? I’m not the first person to jump at the chance to go to a party full of people I don’t know but I can talk to my friends and family. And as a kid of course I didn’t want to be teamed up with someone I didn’t know but being an introvert doesn’t mean I was so anti-social or scared I’d rather do all the work myself rather than talk with a kid I literally saw every day. Hell most introverts will tell you, get me around people I know or wait until I’m comfortable and you’ll find out I’m very open. Good skit but misses the mark.

Exactly, but it's a common correlation. Many introverts naturally try to avoid situations that they know will be draining, and as a result don't socialize enough to develop social skills.

Agreed! As an introvert with lots of anxiety, I don't really have anxiety around my friends, co-workers, strangers, etc. I don't get energy from being around people, but I still enjoy hanging out with my friends. My anxieties are not about social interactions.

This is probably the most relatable video for me. There have been times where my friends invite me to hang out and I use my parents and little brother as an excuse to not attend. I love my friends, but I'm just not comfortable being out with people for too long.

As an introvert, I always had my small group of friends (we are all, at the very least, a little bit shy) and I loved it. But I wasn’t really open with other people. One day I met this girl and we became really good friends. She was an extrovert and I never really met someone who helped me “come out of my shell”. I had such an awesome time hanging out with her. Unfortunately, she is moving this year.
I’m kinda worried that I’m going to become my introverted self again with her gone plus this quarantine has definitely increased my quietness.
So basically what I’m saying is,

I once started sobbing and having a panic attack in the middle of reading a paper in front of our entire class
I feel your pain. Presentations can be nerve wracking for anyone. And dont feel too bad about it. As a teen, I once hid in a bathroom for 2 hours straight cause my parents tried to force me to socialize
@@swordaka I literally started crying whenever my brother invited someone over and was hiding behind my computer to dismiss any sort of concern should anyone see me, I couldn't be anywhere else in order to avoid it. Anxiety was so bad at that point.
I had to present a project in front of my class and I was pretty nervous especially since I made mine mostly myself with lined paper while everyone else had printed paper on their board. So my teacher gave me the option to present only to him and saved me the embarrassment.

I was so nauseous the entire car ride there and my dad had to calm me down to actually get me to go inside
mines worse every firday at my school they hand out certifactes which is annoying in high school and u have to stand up at the front for about 1 min
When I was younger I thought that feeling of awkwardness would go away as I grew, I was never so wrong in my life
