Elevator Chime World Record? + Nudge Mode Glitch on an Otis Series 1!

- [Recorded on 3-30-21 at 4:26pm] If you think seven chimes is bad the first time, get ready for what comes next... let's just say it's a few more than seven. If you've ever seen an elevator chime more times than this at once, comment down below!
To sum up the issue: while the doors were closing, I pressed the "down" button on the elevator, then the doors got stuck while reopening. Because this elevator has a glitch where the chime doesn't stop until the doors fully open, it went well past the normal two chimes for down and the seven this elevator usually makes. It wasn't until the nudge mode timer kicked in that the doors finally shut and the chime stopped. However, the elevator remained in nudge mode, reopened on the third floor, and the buzzer went off. Later on, I went down to the third floor myself, and while the chime didn't go crazy again, the elevator went into nudge mode and stopped at the second floor (without anyone calling it) and the buzzer once again went off.

That's definitely a record! For some reason these mid-90s Series 1s have a tendency to chime too many times when wired wrong.
"Please stand clear of the opening doors"
LOL
LMAO
Wow Otis nudge mode sounds like a Thyssenkrupp or Dover floor passing chime except louder and more annoying like a fire alarm toned down. 😳

01:47 sound like car Horn sound
0:15 sounds like the 1997 Buick that I just rented and I am sitting in the parking lot with the key in Accessory and stuck in the ignition and chimes away.
Is it a railroad crossing or an elevator? Hmm...
now thats what i call personality
Lol, that's funny. Must be some sort of relay glitch.. This is why I (personally) like computer controlled elevators better
eh relays can have more character computer controlled ones are good for efficiency if the company knows what they're doing
This is definitely either microprocessor or mix of microprocessor & relays. Assuming this is on 211 this is probably fully microprocessor.
The chime probably thinks it's in a car. As far as I know, there are no seatbelts in elevators (unless you count Tower of Terror).
so if that elevator has the fire service option then if it was tested in fire service they did not turn they key to reset / bypass and then off older elevators will do that if that had not been done after a fire recall / service test.
You may think that elevator is in fire service but no.
Holy shit that chime needs fixing
Proves how crappy Series 1 lifts can be
@LittleRockElevators I said "Can be" Most ones I rode are in pristine condition or they aren't maintained that well.
@LittleRockElevators not to be mean
@LittleRockElevators I even had one stop the doors when it was opening
@LittleRockElevators True.
That’s very weird.😂😂
