It was very interesting seeing that your trees have lost most of their leaves by November like they do here in the North East US. But we don't get snow on our hills until December, but there was snow on the tops of those hills already. Oh and a dark cave? All I could think was "What if there was a Bear in there?" And I wondered where the Goats had moved to, just down the valley. "Beep Beep" Very cool Video. Thanks.
@@imh9456 Yes, the road tunnel. From outside you dont see the other end of the tunnel and it looks from the video that the road just goes in to a cave. Its to bad that you all dont have Bears. I really like watching the bears in our neighborhoods and country side. But while walking or hiking, we always have to be mindful of Mountain Lions or Bears. Not that they bother any one, but if you come up to them to quickly and scare them, they can get defensive.
@@imh9456 that's great to hear, thanks! We were a bit worried about the weather, as our plan includes 10 bikepacking days from Kristiansand to Flam, following the main cycling ways.. For this reason, we are actually in doubt if to replan the trip for July! As you mention, though, snow might still be an issue in July..
@@bogdanc2309 I think it is possible to bike this road from mid July, you might have to walk over some snowbanks on the highest part of the road, I have done it 3 times, but i did it as a day trip not a fully loaded bike with tent etc. Check out this link www.haugastol.no/en/rallarvegen-report
I heard after I made the train ride that it was possible to rent bikes but seeing this, I’m lucky we didn’t. This is too much adventure for me. 😅 Happy to watch it on my screen, though!
Just take a slow ride and enjoy the scenery. I have cycled this road numerous times both ways and i usually cycle this stretch of the rallarroad relative slow.
Eu gostei do passeio. Por bicicleta o trajeto é mais curto do que pelo trem. Interessante ver aqueles dois vasos no final da linha de trem por trás. The dark cave? It was the first road tunnel built in the old county, and no bears in western part of Norway

September is a good month to bike the whole Rallar road from Haugastøl down to Flåm, less people up on the mountain and all the snow has melted.

I am now ambitious to go back again and try this trip. Maybe not so fast though lol.

No one live up at Myrdal today, however there are maintenance crew living there when they work. Today these houses are used as cabins all year around.

you should do this route again with your 360 view cam, as theres just loads of interesting spots to have a good look over.
