Double KB training has such good strength carryover too. Started olympic lifting after a decade long hiatus and your KB programs made a noticeable difference.
Thank you Joe, this vid has really given me food for thought, & lots of inspiration . I have been doing bodyweight movements only for a few years now. But I've found the KB interesting & fascinating. For their simplicity and effectiveness. All of the variations they possess is amazing. Im going to start playing with KB, and I now want to work up to this particular routine. Im getting to that age now where I feel the KB could give me that whole body work out in a quick 15 min routine within a busy work schedule/life. Im looking forward to my new journey.
Funny, when I first began Kettlebell, I was saying I was doing front squats with 24kg. But I was doing double KB. In reality it was 48kg. I was in the middle of set when this finally hit me....I have to count both bells.
As always a good video and a good advise Start training with 2 Kettlebells is really the best thing you can do After training with one Its really hard in the beginning but then it's also a lot of fun and very good positive training Good for the body and good for the mind 😄
@@kettlebellmusclegain damn right it does!! I had a viewer comment that using doubles is stupid and awkward.. that’s why he only has heavy bells, why use 20x2 when he can just grab his 40kg.. well if that’s the case I’d love to meet this man just not shake his hand (must be able to crush coconuts lol) hats off to him and his thanos hand lol 😂 ill stick with all my doubles, to each his own lol
Hello, I have a question in mind and I don’t find any answer to that dilemma. Can we say that: - single arm kb is better for arms because you can go heavier without taxing core back and legs that much. And the arms will become stronger (shoulder arm, grip focused workout) -2 kb is heavier on leg and body but less taxing on the arm in a sense because you take lesser weights per arm. And the arms don’t have the same challenge in weight but body leg take more. (Leg, body focused workout) For example 2x20kg kb clean and press will be 40kg on body and leg but only 20kg on arms Vs 1x32kg kb will be 32 kg 1 arm clean and press on arm and only 32kg body and leg. The intensity is shifted toward other body part with « the same movement » Is it true? Is possible to develop a bit around this topic please? What would be an ideal mix between the 2 options for strength and conditioning? Or is this just false belief and it is better to grind 2x32kg kb For most benefit? Also through the lens of recovery, what is the best option? Thx for the content! :)
You're absolutely right on all of this I have made a video or two talking about this but I guess I should make a newer one. All in all in short for a all rounded athleticism and/or strength training program it is best to use both single bell and double-bell training
im using a single 20kg for more than a year junt to keep my fitness , should i pick up another 20kg or lower a little bit and pickup like two 16kg kbs?
Good stuff. I own a 16 and 24 and always did singles work until maybe 6mo ago. Doubles are definitely a game changer. I always avoided them bc I only had those two KBs I mentioned. What's your opinion of uneven doubles? I'm using my 16 and 24 now. Maybe in 6 more months I will make a purchase and am debating whether to go with a 32 or just get another 24.
I think offset doubles are fine for certain exercises but not really the dynamic ones if they are really close in weight example 16 and 18 kg or 24 and 26 kg that's okay but once we start jumping up in like 30 to 50% differences example a 12 kg bell and a 24 or as you said like jumping from a 24 to using a 32 doing those for like farmers carries and deadlifts and presses those are fine but doing like cleans and snatches and other dynamic technical exercises I think the weight difference is really not a good idea I would recommend getting another 24 if you're getting into the more technical exercises
Depends how strong you are 2 x 24kg it can be that you can not even lift them Physical forces are more than double the weight It's really heavy and difficult when you first use double kettlebells And pressing a 32kg when you are working with a 24 is almost impossible unless you are very very strong and the 24kg is like nothing to you If I would be you I just would get another 16kg and do a lot of repetitions to build your tendons and strenght Or double 20kg
Can you tell us where you purchase kettlebells? A lot of companies will charge almost the same price as the KB for shipping, so it’s hard to even find a heavy KB that’s not over priced
You in the uk bro? Try wolverston , great bells, a little pricy if your going the competition way but it’s free delivery and just Klarna it you deserve it 😂 💪 ossss
I don't think you can get wolverson bells over here without paying a super high shipping fee that being said I would look into robe fitness their shipping's usually pretty good there's another thing you could do is locate where these companies warehouses are and offer to pick them up without shipping I've done that at a couple of them trying to think you could possibly talk to a gym and see if they were looking to buy in bulk or something like that but anytime you're going to buy heavy weights you're going to be paying for shipping and freight of that weight
Depends on a lot of factors. What is your lifting experience? age? strength level? No matter what it's almost always smart to begin with a medium to lighter weight so you dont get injured. kB is vastly different than barbell or machine weights.
Was right with you until you mentioned the renegade row, which is one of the most hyped, and one of the most useless, exercises for hypertrophy...for isometric core strength, fine...but for hypertrophy (i.e. muscle building)? Nah!! One can never achieve 2-3RIR on the target muscle(s), with a high enough wt. to lift with RPE of 8-9 without the core giving in first. All in all, one'd be better off doing the individual components of the renegade row for better hypertrophic gains...
Then don't do it. Considering this is a great rotational exercise that built loads of my strength to handle heavy weights all around .... But don't trust my 15 years of mostly kettlebell experience. 😁
@@kettlebellmusclegain "Then don't do it." --- Thank you for the wonderful insight! I don't believe I shall. "Considering this is a great rotational exercise that built loads of my strength to handle heavy weights all around ...." --- Yes, strength. And that too core strength; nothing else. Not hypertrophy. Do/Did you even read the comment fully? Or, even try & understand the specific critique? Before you decided to react like a sullen, rebuffed teenage girl on prom night...?🤣🤣 "But don't trust my 15 years of mostly kettlebell experience. 😁" --- No, I don't think I shall. Esp. when loads of other hypertrophy experts say otherwise... "I hope you realize kettlebell work is vastly different than barbell and machines right?" --- Yes, exquisitely. And I also know that KBs are not the best/most optimum tool for mainly hypertrophy training. Will a newbie or deconditioned individual get 'gainz' for, say, a year or two? Sure. But nothing beyond that. Now, that may be enough for many-to-most people, and it may not be for many others. But to market KB-based programmes as hypertrophy stimulating programmes, is doing injustice to both KBs and hypertrophy training. Anyway, you do you....and your followers will do what they want/see fit... Peace out!
See ya man. You constantly criticize what I do when it is based ON KETTLEBELL ONLY TRAINING. FIND SOME OTHER EXPERIENCED COACHES THAT FOCUS ON BUILDING MUSCLE AND STRENGTH WITH ONLY KETTLEBELLS AS THE TOOL. . YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT YOU CAN DEFINITELY HAVE MORE HYPERTROPHY FROM USING CERTAIN OTHER TOOLS BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SPACE OR THE ABILITY TO USE SOME OF THEM THEREFORE THIS IS BASED ON KETTLEBELL ONLY TRAINING AS IT HAS BEEN FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS.
