This is my favorite book and my second favorite movie. The reason why it moved down is a couple of reasons 1 They dropped the Dursleys and Dumbledore meeting, which, among other things, explained why Hsrry had to go back to the Dursleys every year and set up Dudleys redemption arc. 2 They dropped a lot of the memories of Voldemort, especially how his mother, sliped a love potion to Toms father. And then when the love potion was stoped Papa said bye bye, that's why Volfemort was in an orphanage and why he hates everything. Because, as was explaned in the book, if you are born of a love position, you do not feel human emotions. Instead, they put in a couple of things that wern't in the books like the scene where the Weesley's house was burned down and where Harry Potter was flirting with some woman in a diner.😢
Hey there, time for another round of Potterhead input: -One of Dumbledore's claim to fame is his discoveries of uses with dragon's blood (its on his chocolate frog card), so when he tastes it off Harry, he was confirming that it was dragon's blood and must be a set up, not a crime scene. The death eaters were trying to recruit Slughorn because he used to be their head of Slytherin house and they all knew him to be a brilliant wizard. The fact that he could tamper with his memory is proof that he is extraordinarily powerful. -Voldemort gave Draco the 'impossible task' as a punishment to Lucius for failing to retrieve the prophecy and failing to keep his diary safe. He truly expected Draco to die trying. -They totally skip over a majority of the memories that Dumbledore collected about Voldemort that they go over to come to the conclusions that the horcruxes are all related to the items he associated with the magical world and the hiding places were all places he associated with magic (gringots- first time at diagon alley, cave- where he tortured muggle children when he lived in the orphanage, gaunt house- where his mother's family (slytherin decedents) lived and he killed his grandfather and set up his uncle to get the locket and the ring, things tied to the founders of hogwarts, etc. -Draco did not hex Katie Bell, but he did have the barmaid at the three broomsticks under his imperius curse. She was the one who cursed Katie Bell in the bathroom at the bar before they left and she was the one who sold the wine to slughorn with poison in it knowing it was meant for dumbledore. -Aragog died of old age and then it wasnt even safe for Hagrid to go to the nesting area -Dumbledore's hand was like that because he tried to put on the ring... can't say much more on that at this time, but I can say (book knowledge) that Dumbledore was familiar with the ring because of its relation to the wizarding world and it was a relic he searched for as a young adult, so he couldn't fight the temptation to finally put it on. -side information: this movie has a big focus on love potions for a huge reason. Voldemort's mom had his dad under a love potion when he was conceived so that prevents him from having the ability to love. Tom Riddle, Sr. abandoned them when she finally stopped giving him the love potion...
Oh and to answer your question at the end. Moaning myrtle was the kill to split his soul for the diary. He killed his father and Riddle grandparents to make the ring, and an unknown muggle was the kill he used for locket. From the books, by this point, you do also learn that there is descendant of hufflepuff he used to make one of their family relics into a horcrux.
