Emma is certainly one of the biggest draws in tennis, people love to watch her. She is definitely playing at a top-20 level at the moment and will only get better as she plays more matches. I am excited to see where she might be in the rankings by the end of the summer. She has such a good all-round game with both a strong 1st & second serve. She adapts well to playing on different surfaces and she can impose herself on most opponents. People love fairy stories and the legacy of her winning a Grand Slam at such an early age without dropping a single set will probably be the defining match of her hopefully long and fruitful career.
Then there was the bleating from the aforementioned Clara Tauson about having beaten her a short time before yet Emma was getting all the attention. There was of course the little matter of having won the US Open that Emma did. And of course bagleing both Serena Williams and Azarenka within a 48 hour period in Cincinnati. Always having a smile at the net regardless of how the match went. It all adds up. She lost heavily to Rybakina and Ostapenko and I thought we might really see where her game is now when she meets either of these on clay or grass. Win or lose she's always great entertainment never predictable like many players (samey tennis). She also has that never say die attitude (Fernandez has that too), that champions need.
After the fairy-tale of New York, Emma got a lifelong free-pass from many 'wall to wall tennis fans' like myself I suspect. So, she could do all the endorsements she liked and I'd just be happy for her to stay in tennis at some level. The thing is, she's had to metamorphosise these last couple of years. I remember her losing to Sasnovich at Indian Wells straight afterwards and the weird game against Martic when her blistered hands meant she could only muster slices yet could've won the game as Martic failed to spot the obvious.
Her progress with be more significant than top 100 by the end of the year - she has no ranking points to defend for the rest of the year and she’ll get wildcards to all of the big tournaments where there are lots of points on offer. She generates a lot of interest and brings lots of eyeballs to Tennis, I suspect she’ll be ranked around 20 ish before her 22nd Birthday at the end of November. 🎉 Long-term I agree that she’ll be a multiple major champion, she has so much talent.
Remember, Emma's targets this season are 1) Staying fit and healthy. 2) Playing well. 3) Improving. Winning would be very pleasing both for her and those who follow her progress hoping she does well.
This aged well. 😂

Torben Beltz was a disaster as a coach. He took all the aggression out of her and overtrained her.

It wasn’t Martic, it was Danka Kovinic, round 2 AO 2022, where she won the second set by giving a slice masterclass. Due to blistered RH.
Raducanu’s tennis is exiting to watch people love it

Yet she just lost to à 82nd ranked unknown player at mutua Madrid 😅, good luck Emma, seriously, you won US open you'll get back to that form
As i stated already a while ago ;Emma will be no 1 in England 🏴 again soon and top 10 in the WTA within a year .
