Love the real world approach to your work. The luxury of having a shop plus all the correct tools is something very few of us have. Also, thanks for not assuming all viewers can't think for themselves and take safety measures that are less than perfect but appropriate. Too many ninny's out there. If we all operated with zero risk nothing would get done. Don't throw away the good in search of the perfect is my mantra. Keep the vids coming sir!
Thank you for your wise words and support. In fairness, I probably 'push the envelope' a bit much sometimes when it comes to safety, but it's a calculated risk. Hoses and seals in the 'lifting' backhoe were all brand new, and extensively tested, so I felt confident relying on it (sort of... ha ha!). Again, thank you for your comment. :-)
great video my friend, I am a heavy duty mechanic and sometimes we have to work on transfer cases and gear box that we never did before. Seeing you doing the work in your backyard is astonishing. hats off to you sir.
no front lugs, 2xs for stands, under a loose bucket . "Your nuts man" and about clicked away. I stayed to see if he makes it alive. The more I watched the smaller I felt. I finally realized this man is next level. Im thinkin you wear whatever the f you want on your feet Mate. As a part timer on case backhoes I got a lot out of this. I am most grateful sir.
Hi Mr Moose, if something comes up that needs a planetary rebuild, I'll certainly look into it. But this machine is all back together. Too much work to pull it apart again. But thanks for watching. :-)
Damn man! You obviously know what your doing. Cool to see this done shade tree mechanic style. I would attempt this on my hoe if it needed it, but I would have to be way more cautious/careful as I've never done a job like this before. Good work!
Hey pete, I did a transmission rebuild on my 580se, wondering if you could of pulled the transaxle out like I did, I was able to still run the motor hydraulics with all the bits de attached to the transaxle, I lowered the hole machine down to ground level withe the transaxle sitting on a piece of wood, I then undone the bolts holding onto the axle tubes then raised the machine with the outrigger legs high enough and was able to drag the whole trans out.. Luv ya work and the comment about you wife was a cracker😀🇦🇺
Hi Alan, If I remember correctly, pretty much every cylinder on the machine was leaking badly and also the hoses to the stabilizers were pretty rotten. So basically, nothing on the machine was working at this point of the operation.

Great video Pete, you should make one on the planetary hubs.

At the moment that isn’t a screwdriver, chisel, punch or pry bar. It’s a safety latch.
Ha ha!! Definitely!!
