Pathfinder winch fitment Pt 1
Today, I'm attempting to fit a recovery winch and bull bar to the front of my 92 model Nissan Pathfinder (Terrano). I don't often work on small cars like this, so I think I may have gone a bit 'overboard' with the materials used. But at least it shouldn't break!! Please enjoy.

We spotted an add on Marketplace for a 'free tractor' in a town about two hours away. Well, the price seemed good, but was it worth it? So, in this video, we go for a drive up to Dimbula, have a quick lookover the machine, load it up, take it back to our farm, and start to work on it in an effort to bring it back to life. Please enjoy.

Today, I'm tweaking up a couple of things on my Nissan Terrano (pathfinder) in an effort to boost it's reliability and make 'life' a bit more comfortable. Also, I have a look at my brothers Honda CBR1000F to try and diagnose an issue in the charging circuit. And lastly, I make a start on building the battery cover / foot step for the Case 580 backhoe.

Pulling apart the panels on the sidestep of the Case 580SK backhoe to inspect and assess the serviceability of the air-conditioning system. Straightening the damaged panels and reassembling the sidestep. Then a quick look at the outcome of a job I did at work a few months ago.

My brother has come to Cairns for a visit and to do a motorcycle ride around the area with me. Our first day-trip sees us riding up to Port Douglas and overcoming a few 'teething' issues with the bikes and the tech. On day two, we point the wheels west and enjoy the sights of the tablelands. I hope you enjoy a brief look at part of my family.

Having a look at a few different things, this time. Firstly, the local crop duster is so close to the workshop, you can almost read the part number on the spray nozzles, Then a look at the Perkins waterpump while running. A quick job on our 16 tonne excavator, and then we start fixing up the Kubota waterpump.

Hi again and welcome to the channel. Today is another 'mixed bag' of goodies. this video was quick, to the point, and saves days (weeks?) not to mention likely losing parts, breaking things, and doing it wrong several times. It still took me several days, but I take lots of breaks and spend most of my time looking for the right tools and this was much easier and far less wear and tear on the machine. i did have to remove the radiator shroud and radiator overflow tank to get access, turned the whole shaft just from the torque on the 5/8 bolt heads, and the spline arrangement had not been greased for years, so that took grease, penetrating oil and a bit of persuading pushing that piece back and away. Hope I didn't damage the hyd pump, and need to be sure bolts and washers are balanced when I replace them, may have lost a washer or two.

Looking great Pete. I agree, a little overkill, it is strong enough for your truck. When you were drilling that brace being carefully of the condenser makes me think of what I did 40 years ago. On Chevy Corvairs the gas tank is ahead of the floorboard by the gas pedal. My plan was to pop rivet sheet metal over rusted out area and when drilling I drilled right into gas tank.

Hi Scott, yeah we're pretty happy with the outcome! I believe that is some kind of 'water trap' on the muffler, and I've tried, but I can't get the thing to unscrew. If I had to, I would persevere, but I'm pretty sure I've got all the water out, now! And yes, it's a project I'm very much enjoying!! Take care. :-)

If I get stuck on something on a project or can’t find a tool, gear puller comes to mind, I will move onto something else instead of wasting time trying to solve problem or find tool. The solution often comes to mind when I’m working on something else or I stumble upon the tool when I’m not looking for it. By the way, I later ran across my gear puller and 2 more.

Ha ha! So true! Finding it hard to stay 'motivated' on the backhoe now. But if I don't, it will never happen.

As a welder the ceramic strips were something I was unaware of. I have used thick copper strips to do the same thing though.

Hi mate just watched now. Too many segments to comment on. It’s a brilliant atmosphere there at the workshop, beautiful property. I love those jobs setting up engines and pumps. We’ve done a lot of it over the years, but now they buy professionally made ones with warranty. Backhoe is getting closer too. Great episode, thoroughly enjoyed it

Mornin Pete . Our day started about 25c on its way about 45c today . But as we say , "it's a dry heat " 😳 When I was a kid , I could tell the brand of diesel engines of the time by the sound . Thanks to you and Steve I can now distinguish the sound of a Perkins 6-354 . I'm sure we had them here also , big not near as common as the Mack , Cummins and Detroits we had here. Hard to tell the new modern diesels , since they all have high pressure fuel systems and turbos now . Here is a question that I have thought about for the last week or so . Since you done the tyres on your loader. Why is it that the inside of the wheels do not rust far more than they do ? That old pump ran good and did its job perfectly mate . Was good to let work a little after a long rest . I agree with oldamericaniron on snakes. I just steer as clear as farI can from them. I agree , there was good variety in this video , keeps it interesting . Take care Pete , I will look forward to the next video . Scott 🌵

Hi Pete, we’ve had way too much rain also and tired of cloudy days. Enough rain so crops in low areas drown out. I only know enough about snakes as to stay away from them although none in my area are venomous. Great video as with the collection of clips it gives a very good idea of your daily life. Sounds like your beautiful winter day would be a beautiful summer day here. As always, live life and enjoy it!
