I always loved metroplex since u saw him in cybertron (my first time with the character) and the one thing never liked about the toy is how cumbersome the ax is to store in construction mode. Regardless of form I store it either in hand or where it goes in vehicle mode but neither seemed right, unless you're posing him for the hand one, which this mold seems to have alleviated even without splitting the ax in 2.

My second view just to leave a comment as I watch UA-cam on my Roku TV and can't comment normally. It's so good to watch a review of this made by someone who not only loves Transformers but who would actually do some research in case they somehow didn't know the character or backstory of the figure. There really is nothing like a review from someone good. And with Emgo, we get a skit at the end too! But man, does this figure look good. I really hope they do Menasor soon. Quickmix though can be a commander. This review really shows why the step count is so high on this. There's quite a few extra steps for no reason and they're appreciated. Although, I think maybe if they kept the transformation a little more simple like the original then they could've found some room for Drillbit in the budget. The work mode actually looks like something now which is really cool. Now to digress a bit about Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime. My GUOP is a little taller than yours as I have the thigh extensions as well as the DNA legs. So mine can get very leggy just like the original. I made some modifications to mine though so that the trailer still attaches normally in truck mode. I cut out some channels in the pelvis going backwards so that the hips can slide backward into the pelvis to the bumper. Kind of like the hip shift voyager Titans Return Optimus/Octane does but on a larger scale. There's just enough room in the pelvis to allow for the thigh extenders (from multiple designers) to sit in that empty cavity behind the front bumper that the DNA kit would normally have the wheels move into while also allowing the part of the trailer that covers the robot arms to still attach to the spine. So it fills in the gaps without needing the DNA kit and also allows for a full unaltered transformation and attachment for the trailer. However, doing this gets rid of the very loose and almost non-existent hip ratchets. So the legs will flop at the hips (kind of like the original) unless you pour on some Kiki, or joint tightener of your choosing, into the area to tighten everything up. This custom can also be done on Siege Ultra Magnus but not on the Kingdom version of the mold as the new bumper on that version of the mold wouldn't allow for that much movement. Not that the Kingdom version's trailer attaches to the spine anyway though. I asked a designer on Shapeways if they could make a new rear pelvis piece to allow for all of this but they couldn't visualize or imagine what I was telling them even showing them how it works with my customs. Not that it's all that complicated though. It's literally just some gaping channels in the pelvis behind the hips so they can slide back. It would ultimately fix a few of the major problems with the mold though as it fills in the gap behind the bumper and front wheels, makes the figure taller and more proportioned in the robot modes as well as make it so the stock trailer attachments are still used as normal.
Awesome. I'm gonna have to wait a while for mine since I'm getting him from BBTS, but this video gets me excited. Really cool titan. Edit: I just got the notification. Mine should arrive soon!

the only other base former that he'd look half decent connected to would be Omega Supreme, IMO. with Ironworks attached to Omega, he has a slight factory look on top of the rocket base, so a.... bucket excavator might fit? sort of?
While a bit late I got mine for 80 € in a Black Friday sale. This is very likely to be the most versatile Titan so far with his poseability, stability and configurations, I got mine with the Worker Mode's head and weaponized arms but keeping the normal body.
Terrific review as always. I can't wait for mine to arrive (November for Europe). Those screw holes in work mode though... they're even uglier than in the original Cybertron release. I hope a 3rd party company takes care of that. Aside from that, a fantastic toy and one of the best titan class transformers. Infact, I can't get over the fact that Hasbro couldn't equipe the ones with a base mode with at least one compartment that can open up to reveal a command centre or other chambers and stations you can man with mini figures. Especially since Hasbro has been releasing small figures for quite some time now. V1 Meteoplexe's leg and arm stations don't count for me. I'm talking about compartments in the torso that give you the illusion that those big bots have a moltitude of chambers and corridors inside. Something à la Catle Greyskull... That would increase their play value a lot, imho. Fortress Maximum is the worse of them all: all you can do is having figures standing on his legs and arms (which don't even try to look like something diffrent than just legs and arm).
I can see this being repainted with Junkion colors and changing his name to Scrapyard. That way they can get their own Titan. He could be one of the many Titan ships that launched from Cybertron to go out into the galaxy and create other Transformer planets.
I got the o.g. Cybertron Metroplex in back in 4th grade, still have it & love it. Cyberplanet key was hard to keep around, I eventually found it, but not the mini-con Drill Bit. Also, I hope this means there's a chance of "Cybertron" Vector Prime coming to the line.
Think 3rd party will make minicon connections to fill those weaponizer ports? I would much rather the cyber key for his weapon but I am okay if we could add minicons to him
I had the original and loved it so because it was the biggest transformer I had and to see this new one tower over it makes it a must get to bring out my childlike happiness
the thing that both amazias and confuses me is the addition of the A.I.R. lock system to this figure, having Metroplex and Siege Omega Supreme linked up together in the same micro-master city sounds awesome but Metroplex's alt mode is a mobile excavator not a stationary land mass like the ones had by the modulators, Sky Lynx, Optimus/Rodumus Prime or Scorponok.
Hasbro Pulse says it releases November 1st and I can't wait Also I think DNA will have a blast for this guy, probably give us a different axe head and maybe some screw hole covers

Mine just shipped. Can't wait.
Think 3rd party will make minicon connections to fill those weaponizer ports? I would much rather the cyber key for his weapon but I am okay if we could add minicons to him
13:30 A big , big, big, big gorillalala !!!
I won't be surprised if someone makes a fan city mode and use some of city weaponizes to make it
I had the original and loved it so because it was the biggest transformer I had and to see this new one tower over it makes it a must get to bring out my childlike happiness
"Wheelie face"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!! I can't unsee it!!!
The neck that can be extended so he can look up feature is great. I wish they would have applied that to Earthrise Scorponok, that would be cool.
I don't know why but his vehicle mode reminds me of "Jayce and the wheeled warriors"
the thing that both amazias and confuses me is the addition of the A.I.R. lock system to this figure, having Metroplex and Siege Omega Supreme linked up together in the same micro-master city sounds awesome but Metroplex's alt mode is a mobile excavator not a stationary land mass like the ones had by the modulators, Sky Lynx, Optimus/Rodumus Prime or Scorponok.
NGL I’ll take satisfying engineering over gimmicks anyway. (Unless we’re talking about Masters Of The Universe
Hasbro Pulse says it releases November 1st and I can't wait
Also I think DNA will have a blast for this guy, probably give us a different axe head and maybe some screw hole covers
Do you think we will get the Scottish Mixing Truck that was his buddy from the show too? ( I don't remember his name only that he was Scottish because who doesn't love Space Scotland along with Space Australia.)
How in the name of Primus do you have this already?! It still shows as pre order on Hasbro Pulse.
2:07 Really? Now it will be Wheelie for me... forever :'(
Amazing review again Emgo :D
God, it feels good to see a Unicron Trilogy character in plastic again.
