Cale already runs tournaments, pair him up with Mcbeth, Climo, and Discraft sponsorships and run a Classics event at DeLa already! Limit discs, limit speed, no rangefinders during tournament, post-production only. Play it old school. Just feels like such a slam dunk!!!
I know I’m disagreeing with Paul McBeth here, so I probably don’t know what I’m talking about, but would limiting disc speed really change that much on the course when the top pros can throw their putter 450 feet? Wind would make it challenging obviously, but I like the limited amount of discs idea more than limiting speed. Especially because you can easily lose a disc even without water.
The main benefit I see for Discraft picking up Climo is taking 12x off Innova discs. Now Discraft has the biggest x whether it's 6x or 12x which will be very influential to first time buyers.
I 100% agree with the email about dynamic discs-- their media team was the best thing they had going for them. Awful decision-making then and in other areas from then til now.
Think that dd went for grass root to starpower. Thinking thy didnt needthe grsdsroot base anymore..all the marketing money went to ricky...house of discs might have bought allready falling brand an then made the final kill shot :)
If possible, Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, and Westside should consolidate under one brand - probably Latitude 64 - produced in Royal line plastics. Latitude 64, Discmania, and Kastaplast can be the new trilogy. Lat is the serious one. Discmania is the fun one. Kasta is the weird one.
Yeah the whole trilogy thing makes no sense now that you have DM, Kasta, DD, Lat64, and Westside. I say keep the opto and gold line (or C-line/S-line), and the different metal flake releases, then produce all your tour series in royal horizon halo whatever you want to call it plastic. Kasta has the best glow so they can release glow discs, and DM is great at making fun releases (song of the summer disc) like you said. It is a good way to keep the overall HoD brand (like a GM or Ford) and differentiate your products.
Yeah. Cash grab was a terrible take. Like it's a bad thing that Ken could finally make some money off disc golf. Then to act like it's a bad thing that people are buying them just to support him is also a bad take. When there is a new disc, there is essentially no reason to buy it until there are reviews. There's nothing new in disc flight. People buy them anyway and if they like them word spreads. Having extra people buying it to support Ken is just an added bonus to getting the discs in the hands.
Said this earlier, mut conmecting the champ brand to tangeable products makes it easyer to support. You can be involved in many ways not just selling discs. The product must be good ofcourse. So it wont weaken the bränd

I watch coverages of players who throw the discs i do and is part of the reason i watch disc golf i love knowing what they throw

We need to know what the players are throwing on coverage because it gives context which makes the viewing experience better. Big miss by the coverage

Discraft used to have an underground team which was all the people that weren't the touring players.
