Josh with the theory that they sold out of the light ones because beginners are the only ones buying is laughable. They make almost no lightweight ones. There is an absolute fraction of lightweight versus normal max weight of any mormal release. This guy is so quick with the negative spin. Lol

These comments are funny. Everyone loves to hear you guys speculate on players and give stats and facts but anytime there are biased opinions shared everyone is up in arms. Maybe that is by design for engagement.

I don't think that I will take any of my Innova Climo discs out of the bag for his new stuff . Glad to see him back but it didn't move the needle for me.

Great interview with jerm. Think that with climo legacy expectation is gono be always too much, when comparing the goat career to five minutes of brand reemergene...so give it time and see what the involvement level really is For me the discscand merch is just something tangeable to tie the brand

You guys call the Climo discs a cash grab, then both get hyped about a FORTY DOLLAR disc a few segments later? Am I missing something here? Then thinking that Latta ($14.5K) had a better season than Simon ($32.6K)... at least y'all looked it up and corrected it. Outside of the Koling interview, this episode was kinda rough.

The top players arent looking for these discs, but top players are like 3-5 percent of the whole community. Those who will throw these discs have the largest market share that buy. Beginner to advanced. Thats where a manufacturers money is... When those players get them in hand and throw those discs, hes gonna sell a ton watch. You guys are clueless on this take. Wow.

I'm buying Kens discs because of what he did for the sport but also, I am excited to throw them. It's Kens first chance to express himself on what he's looking for in flight and feel of his own discs. Designs are ugly? They are prototypes, wtf is wrong with you people? These discs are gonna be a hit because the average player to more advanced player will love them.. why? Because they will fit the speed of the players arms. Ken says he throws 60-65mph currently, that's what the majority of seasoned disc golfers throw as well. Not to mention that group in the market is the largest and buys the most discs. Can't wait to see TONS of players throwing them at local tournaments so you two can eat your words.. 😁

Getting stoked on the memorial because "we've got some disc golf to watch" is fine, but gotta say I enjoyed the shit out of the tour down under last week - and there's 3 more to come! Terry does a great job but Go Throw's coverage is a cut above. Keen to see how Jerm goes with new bag against Ezra, Goose, KJ et al this weekend.

I seem to recall a commercial on a podcast.. where the hosts are big pound guys.. hmm can't remember it, but anyway Jerm says, "Pound is the best of the best, I didn't choose Pound, I chose Levi." What is going to happen there?

The industry is becoming oversaturated with discs. Think about how many molds and plastic combos each manufacturer has. Then each manufacturer has to devote time to run the smaller guys discs too, like Millenium, Mint, or DGA, or all of the HoD brands. How many different ways are you going to make an overstable 9 speed "firebird"-like disc. This leads to the need to have to run what you have time for and there are so many that you can't run them all so you only get so many.

Glad I sold my Big Jerm Halo Boss. He won’t be looking for them anymore. It was a cool stamp.

So, do you think anyone putting out a signature disc is just a cash grab or does that somehow get judged by different rules? When McBeth made the Zeus and the Luna was that just remaking the Destroye and the Aviar? Was that a cash grab and also just remaking some Innova molds? Is Simon just remaking the P2 with the Pixel? Is that just a cash grab? I think the Climo criticisms turned pretty close to a rant and was kind of unwarranted.

To be fair about the Climo discs, of course nobody is interested in the discs themselves. People don't get excited about new discs anymore. There's nothing new under the sun. If they fly good, people will like them.

No one is going to sign Hailey. She hasn't been able to play at the level she should, due to poor mental game and tendonitis from having zero muscle and still doing athletic movements. Add the fact that she has been controversial off the course and I just doubt anyone is going to give her any decent offer. Might end up with some unknown company.

Quick point about disc weight. Beginners like to throw lightweight discs, but so do older players.

I’m a fan of this show and everything you guys do but man those takes on the Climo brand were rough. Why wouldn’t Ken want to re-create some of his favorite and most used discs? The KC aviar, roc, and wraith are fantastic tried and true molds. I don’t think Discraft produces anything like them, so I wouldn’t see why any Discraft pro wouldn’t want to add them to their bag. Especially any former Innova pros (barela, McBeth, hammes, etc). I’m not sure what everyone was expecting him to produce. I think it would be more weird for him to make a bunch of very unfamiliar molds, especially since he is using a very unfamiliar plastic to him. How do these look like starter set discs? How can you say that the plastic doesn’t look like it’s going to be good just from a couple product photos? They look very normal in the photos in my opinion. I don’t think this initial release needs to be some swirly metal flake glow halo esp whatever. It looks fine, and if it feels good, then it will sell. I think Ken and Discrafts goal with this initial release was performance, not flashy-ness. The prototype stamp isn’t my favorite for sure, but I don’t think it looks terrible. I think it’s really hard to criticize discs so harshly purely on a couple of product photos. At LEAST they are showing profile photos of each mold, unlike a lot of companies. I’m a pretty loyal Innova thrower. I think other companies make great molds and great feeling plastic, but I’ve never really been interested in throwing Discraft or any other brand of plastic. This Climo release has me interested in picking some up even though it isn’t produced by Innova. I’m sure there are plenty of other people that feel the same way. I love support Ken, and these molds seem to be inspired by some of my favorite innova molds. I don’t think this is a cash grab whatsoever. I think it’s finally giving Ken the opportunity that he never got to take. I think shunning him to a commentator only role would be doing him a disservice. He knows what makes a good feeling disc, and I think he finally gets the chance to show the disc golf community that.

I remember buying discraft esp plastic was kinda halo ish blend looking. It's not exactly halo but it had a lighter green on the rim and dark green center wayyy before Innova made halo. Years before so I kinda think discraft is first. Also feels like climo discs is towards the older guys that don't have the arm strength like they used to and new players

I bought the Climo discs, 2 of each mold, purely to appreciate his influence on the sport and the history of his name. I agree they aren’t flashy and seem basic. But regardless, Climo exclusive discs at this point in disc golf history is historic.

Interesting how these "contracts" work. Especially for someone like BJ who has his fingers in multiple companies pie. IMHO - any income that capitalizes on Big Jerm's "personality, media figure" whatever - should be including big royalties to Jomez, because without Jomez, Big Jerm would not be a very likeable figure. It's only the Jomez team around Jerm that compliments him and makes him seem likeable. This is all kind of irrelevant because I'm pretty sure Big Jerm has ownership in Jomez and takes from their profits too. If Big Jerm didn't have ownership in Jomez they would have replaced him as a commentator years ago.

I was surprised by the Climo takes this episode. I dont feel like this is any more a cash grab than the existing trends and high priced special edition discs. In this landscape, this is an awesome move by Discraft, its not every day you get to align a good deed with your ultimate goal of making money. I think this is why MVP is so successful, they respect their product and customers. That stands out in a market where manufacturers just kind of do whatever they want and customers have to hope their preferred disc is chosen for the latest trendy push and is produced to a decent and reliable standard. P.S. Fantastic interview with Jeremy. He's a great representative for the sport, im excited for his new deal.

My local disc shop has a lot of MVP stock disc's and special stamp disc's too. It madders when you order them. Discmania was harder to get them any company. 🥏

It seems more likely that the Climo brand is targeted toward older generations that want to support The Champ and might be more likely to throw lighter weight discs that fly like the classics they know and love.

Idk why i find it disrespectful when ppl ask about other ppl contract on how much they make its weird who cares .

Obviously Prodigy needs to come out with an overstable 7 speed kinda Teebird type disc: Both Isaac and Cale remarked about how excited they were to have that type of disc available to them now

I think Go Throw and Luke are going to make Prodigy cool again in 2025. (They've been hated on long enough) Though they lose a couple cool points without Cale on the team. Bought my 1st prodigy disc ever this year based on Luke chucking that Reblend M4 in NZ!

I agree with all of your points and will still be buying the Climo discs 😂
