Jon was the voice and Richie was the guitar. Richie sings great but Jon had a unique voice and not replaceable but neither is Richie replaceable the way I see it.
I wouldn't say he saved Jon in all the songs, I would instead say he was his perfect counterpart. I still can't comprehend how two completely different voices could blend so beautifully together!
I don’t know much about the music business but I have heard it said by someone in the business that one way the lead singer paces his voice in a concert is for the band to sing some lines. This makes sense to me when you think about not just their audience performance but the practice beforehand. The lead typically moves all over the stage which doesn’t help. I found a video of a practice session before they were to make a tv appearance and Jon’s voice is crazy amazing. I am a bigger fan now than I ever was listening to them as I have aged. Although his voice isn’t the same as it was, it is still there. I attribute his range struggles to the impression I get from watching him in interviews and the way he has always carried himself in even his earlier days. He seems like a perfectionist and a workaholic because he loves singing. Maybe he over did it. Don’t know. Sad to hear people say he doesn’t have passion for it anymore in some comments.I don’t think anything could be further from the truth. Richie is a legend in his own right but Jon Bon Jovi is on another level. When I think of Aerosmith I think Steven Tyler and Perry in that order. Of course, we want both. The lead can’t do it by himself. They wrote songs together as well but the success they had was his voice and his work ethic I believe. I also believe because of it the rest of the members could give all their talent and heart which was no less necessary for the degree of success achieved.Things change and regardless of how it appears they have ended and why, I myself am glad it lasted as long as it did. Many happy memories they have given us. I would rather remember the band as it was not a bitter end. Anything they say about each other, which I haven’t followed, I think should be taken with a grain of salt. They spent a major chunk of their life doing what they love as a team and must have a relationship that not many could begin to understand. I hope they can move forward without any hard feelings. It seems Richie was just not up for it anymore or he would been like he always had been. Sounds like he was itching to do his own thing. I don’t think that makes him a bad person. Should he have gone about it differently? Sounds like it but I would rather them go their separate ways because the magic happens on stage when people want to be there. Long live them both.
I love this Richie's singing style more than JV. " I'll be always there for you, Richie ! " You're the great guitar player and created amazing songs since I was young. Thanks for your songs.

Richie is a Musician that really became way better since the beginning with Bon Jovi...now is a super solid gtr player and singer..what an evolution
he doesn't get enough credit for how smooth he is
Richie was and IS the voice of BonJovi. His back up vocals always went unnoticed. He saved Jon in all their songs. This is beautiful.
I wonder if Bon Jovi will tour this year. Don’t see any upcoming dates. I will definitely be going if and when he does come.
MARYBLEUZ Richie certainly was an asset to Jon, BUT ....it was Jon who is/was the band!! That's my opinion 🙂
I love this Richie's singing style more than JV.
" I'll be always there for you, Richie ! "
