Looks and feels like WipEout merged with Gran Turismo although it has wheels. Looks very creepy to drive, having to lie face down and considering that it has a lot of understeer.
I'm skeptical of the "laying down forwards" position when driving this thing. With the way this thing accelrates, isn't it going to make the driver black out due to blood being pushed away from the brain and into the legs?

The biggest problem is that it would probably have to have some major changes, powertrain and the gearbox. The Audi VGT went from full EV to hybrid I believe for its Group 1 iteration. So a car like this would be tricky to figure out a Gr.1 version for.

This propulsion system is impossible because of a law of Newton. The laser must be outside the car to push it...not attached to it...it's like pushing a van from the inside..you can't, period.
But if it was a heater to make pusher fan spin to provide thrust(And use jetstream to cool itself when on track at high speed...), it still could be work in some level.
This is a massive waste of my time writing this but I feel the need to post my first comment with concerns. Congrats to Chaparral & Chevrolet for designing a car that will be ignored and unappreciated by nearly every GT 6 user. Not only does this "car" lack a pleasing design, but it offers no urge to use it in any desired race. Impractically frustrating, it will be used by dull minded drag racers on the Special Stage Route X to test it's top speed and will suddenly be the reason a new Playstation controller is added to thousands of users Christmas lists.
JacksonBrosStudios1 It was pretty fucking awesome to see them at first, but now I find them quite annoying. Nearly everyone I see is being driven by some dolt that can't car properly. It's nearly as irritating as fan cars.
@Nick Gregory You don't have to use your best car to beat the average Chaparral 2X driver. Most of the times these things fly past me and then spinout or drive halfway up the wall and I'll still win. I love the car itself but not the crowd it draws.
This is absurd. How does the driver steer, accelerate and especially brake in that position? In case of crash, there is no crumple zone and driver's head is in a vulnerable position. Sorry, but this is anti-innovation.
