Alex I recommend Adding Amber Lights To your Semi Since you start to drive In early Dawn So you’ll be more visible And also I do recommend Adding Stronger antennas for your CB Radio.
It is not his truck, he does not own it. The truck is built to federal standards and is legal in every state. Adding your own lights will likely make you fail a DOT check depending on what state you are in. If and when he becomes an owner operator he may add what ever he likes since he will be paying the fines and doing the on site repairs to get back to legal so he can get released from the scales where he got shut down.
@@quietbrianquiet good point, I’m glad you pointed it out Because it is true, I am A truck driver for the state of California So the regulations here are different

@Brian Callaway completely agree, should've been practically a straight back if set up properly. But everyone learns and is comfortable doing things their own way.
So for future reference, don’t slide the tandems at an angle. It’s really easy to knock them off track. Speaking from experience. I did it at under 2mph. If you can’t find even ground make sure the truck and trailer are inline
2:56 Alex, so what happened is that when you add DEF to your truck, the smog gets cleaned by the DEF through a filter. It’s called a particulating filter. So what happened is that, that filter was full and it clogs the exhaust. The smoke you saw is normal. It’s the same smoke that comes out when the truck is regening. But since the filter is full, it blocks the engine exhaust and could damage the engine.
He said cause was problem with an intake valve. That was cause. They won't know how bad the resulting damage until they get into job. The week to repair was an estimate. btw, particulate filter is to catch soot. A regen cycle is to burn off the soot from filter. DEF is sprayed into exhaust steam after the particulate filter to convert NOx (nitrogen oxides) to water and nitrogen.

All modern Semi Trucks with sleepers are fine, some have better features than others but mile-for-mile they're all pretty similar. What you definitely don't want to be stuck in for Long Haul is a Cab Over/Flat Nose, which I don't think any U.S. Trucking Company uses anymore. Cab Over trucks will beat your guts sore due to the Driver seat being positioned right over the steer axle, so all the bumps your steers hit go straight up into the driver's seat. My first OTR Company I drove for was Cab Over fleet only, but that was decades ago, back in the 90's, so I'm pretty sure those gut busters days are gone in the U.S.. I believe Europe and the UK still use them pretty heavily though. Thankfully, don't know that any U.S. Companies even use those anymore unless it's some tiny outfit somewhere.

Alex, you can buy an inflatable kayak! That way you can stow it away easy
Like there's 9 cubic feet of readily available space for an inflatable kayak in the cab. Get real. Between kayaking and the UA-cam channel, there would be no time left for driving.
Love the videos, but all the safety features they added is too much. I drive the same truck you have and had 15k miles and ended up putting about 100k miles
why does this freightliner have alot of the same buttons as mercedes actros. the steering wheel is the same, the window buttons and its even got 2 touch screens.
