  • A brief overview of some of the highlights from my recent trip to the Royal Geographical Society and the Alpine Club and what they say about George Mallory and Sandy Irvine's 1924 climb of Mount Everest.

    Mallory’s pants are currently in the private role play wardrobe of Thom Pollard. On “Buffalo Bill Night” he puts them on and tucks it back and sings at the moon.

    Continued investigation! Good job Mike! Of course they cashed, I know ( really want to believe) they made it. Edmund was at best second in my opinion (hope, belief) . Maybe third, even possibly fourth. Love your content. Keep it up and continue building the snow monkey education society.!

    George Mallory was rather fond of dispensing with his pants (note the nude photos taken of him in 1912), so no mystery there. 😉

    First time I have heard that GMs pants were missing😮
    I assume you mean what us English would call trousers, not his underpants (y-fronts)?

      Unfortunately that assumption is incorrect: ua-cam.com/video/tL_RpVe9aXk/v-deo.html

    im not the only person that thinks the rope was not cut by limestone or Marble then , despite working in Marble for 40 years and using it to cut string the force needed would be extreme with weathered marble , and you would need to saw it sideways for 25 mins to cut it

    Michael, has there been any interest in crowd funding the Nat Geo drone photos?

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  Рік тому +2

      Not really, but also Nat Geo nor anyone associated with that expedition has been willing to talk about how much they would want. If they came up with a price, we could probably raise it. But, much like the video of the 1999 search, I suspect it is being withheld for other reasons.

    The VPK used 127 roll film and produced 8 images per roll. 24 images corresponds to 3 rolls of film. Be careful about assuming an exact correspondence between prints and negatives; some negatives may not have been printed.
    The RGS catalog does not list a Mallory camera. It lists a Sanderson for Kellas and a Dallmeyer for Wollaston. The RGS responded to my query that they do not have a Mallory camera. Could you clarify your comment that you saw a Mallory camera?

    I visited the RGS at numerous occasions and photographed many documents, statues, paintings and the 3D Mount Everest scale model.
    I had to sign a document stating these photos were for research or private PhD study, so in respect to RGS these photographs can not be shared on social media !!! 🤔

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  Рік тому +2

      Yes, that is what I clearly state in the video that presumably you watched. The photos in this video are not from the RGS archives -- as it clearly states in the caption for the one photo that there might be some confusion about. As I stated I was in the RGS archives and could not use the photos from there, I am not clear why you feel the need to bring this to my attention. What is the point of this comment other than to inform us that you yourself have been to RGS numerous times?

      No need to repeat what I say in the video.
