Hey Dr ,, Ohh MAAN my 👀👀 been looking for someone like you for a 20 years to answer my pain and now you answered all my questions about all my pain all over my Body , thank you very much you are an angel of pain !!!!! wish I can visit you 😏
thanks for the advice i came home from work today after dead lifting 45kg and my inner magnus is killing me i try this massage and its relieved the pressure
This video actually helped me release the pressure on that muscle myself! I found the tender point and pushed on it with the pressure for about 40 seconds and when I went back to the workout where I got the sharp pain, it was gone!!! Thank you.
This is what I needed! I sort of assessed myself as I watched I just pressed lightly. I need a therapist to have a good look. I’ve had a strain in my groin thigh for weeks get a strain in inner thigh when raise knee. This helped not 100% but feels better
This was a very good video, very informative and I like how you stated that the trigger point in the ischial tuberosity requires confirmed consent before working. I work as a LMT and was doing some refreshing because i had a client today that needed her adductors released. I don't work the inner thigh very often unless its requested so this video was an excellent refresher, thank you for posting
Excellent content. I work with a ton of clients with major mobility inhibitors where soft tissue mobilization is a consistent part of maintaining optimal body performance. Thank you!
First time I've watched one of your videos; loved it. Great clear presentation, great technique. Especially as a male LMT I appreciate your emphasis on clear communication and boundaries. Also loved your intro that says these techniques are for trained and licensed professionals.
Hi, guys. As a female LMT who works on a male patient in this area, I would appreciate any advice about what to do when he starts getting a boner. I’m serious-there’s a guy who does a lot of contracting work on rooftops who came to me for a 90-minute massage, waist down only. I know he couldn’t help it, and I know part of the struggle is dealing with my own awkwardness. But if you have any words of wisdom, I’d greatly appreciate them. Thanks.
Really, REALLY like the use of your hip to move the leg around. I typically do the same thing you showed with very slight differences, but the foot and hip thing is seriously a great idea. Thanks for showing me something new 👍🏼
Hey Mike, That's what friend of mine who teaches for Maitland would call a "clinical gem". It's those little things you pick up from a mentor, clinical instructor or live workshop that just make something click, or become easy. Glad I could add one to your repertoire, please share it with your colleagues ;-) Dr. B2
Look, I have to say I really appreciate your attention to detail when it comes to explaining ethical practice when working around sensitive areas. 👏🏻 need more practitioners like you.
For myself it helps for client comfort to add a barrier between my ASIS and the foot, like a pillow or something like that. Where I can still palpate but the client doesn't have to worry about where their foot is. Really like the videos Brent, great stuff to add to my massage practice.
Thanks Jon,Obviously if that's how you are comfortable, go for it. I like putting the heel on my ASIS and always felt uncomfortable with barriers. I feel like it gives the client/patient this sense of me being afraid to touch them... but, like I said above... if that is how you are comfortable. Thanks for adding to the video and comments, I am sure the pillow idea will be a great addition for many.Dr. B2
Thank you! Knowing what limitations or restrictions would cause me to test the magnus would be great! But it helps knowing what movements these muscles are in charge of
Great video. Very good explanation and demonstration. Thanks for adding the close up portion. Is this the kind of thing that can be resolved with one good trigger point release session? I have a really tight spot deep in my groin that I only feel when I am lying on my back like in the video. But lately if I do any big external rotation like sitting cross legged on the floor, there is no pain but later when I lie down to go to sleep with my legs straight I will feel this kind of throbbing pain for 5 - 15 minutes and then it will to away. I made sure I did not externally rotate my hip for about 5 - 7 days and that pain in bed was gone but then I started sitting cross legged again and the pain came back.
Thank you Lori,We try. Professionalism is something that is lacking in many of the soft tissue release videos I have seen on youtube, despite it being an important part of manual practice. We will keep creating new videos if you keep supporting us. Dr. B2
Thank you!! We just recently added our business to Google my Business, if you enjoy our content, would you mind leaving a quick review? g.page/r/CR1LsEAZ5W6AEBM/review
Adductor strain in the acute phase (6-8 weeks) absolutely, sports hernia probably not. It is always a good idea to stay away from stretching a muscle that has been strained/partially torn. Dr. B2
What scans can be done to get a true diagnosis for groin pain... It's possible that the pain is not from my back or label tear. I stretched my quad (front of thigh toward side) and felt something funny. Afraid to exercise. Without true dignosis. The groin pain also appears to be isolated In the groin.ay times. Very frustrating. Way to long since had proper exercise too. I know pain and this is different. What state are you in. By the way.
I have internal snapping hip since 21 I’m 40 now disabled from it. Pain so severe in greater trochanter it is swollen size of orange also severe pain in inner thigh and ischial tuberosity. Do you think I need surgery for a tear no tear is showing on diagnostics can’t take the pain anymore.
Danielle Mccarter I would definitely see a sports massage therapist to try relieve the pain and tension build! Massage has great benefits for our body! I would strongly recommend and some cbd! Best of luck
Brent, is it recommended to perform this technique on yourself? I tried myself and it's not that hard. Am I 80% sure about the issue/muscle? All I know is that what the Osteo did has not worked. My issue is that I have been doing some medium level sprint training, and now feel that my left leg is really heavy, it really hurt the other week just to walk; had to almost drag my leg along with me. That extreme pain has gone away, but just when I think it's gone, it switches on to pain (short lived), then switches off minutes later. I suspected adductor, but now not sure if glute/groin, ITB and/or hip? Oddly enough, 2 weeks ago I came to training with a mildly sore groin, took it slow on warm up, but was able to do medium level sprinting, 1/2/3/4/5/400m - a 5 minute break between 4-5, and 5/400m. However, the next day, my legs felt fantastic, but the following weekly training, the next day after went down hill quickly. Sorry for the long post. Any thoughts?
Sometime foam rolling is good to shit down the neurodrive of the muscle and then stretch, them and perform some strengthening exercises for the adductors. Just remember the glutes are a huge part of us maintaining good posture. I’m sure they are compensating more than they should, so just make sure your glutes are doing their job or other muscles will have to compensate for them and that’s where muscles like the adductors become overactive. Copenhagen planks are a great exercise to keep the adductors functioning at an optimal level
Although I didn’t understand much, thoroughly enjoyed your oratory skills. Good job! I came here while searching how to lengthen my hamstrings. I have hyperextended knee and tight hamstrings. I am ultra runner and regular yoga practitioner but somehow unable to improve forward bending asanas. Any tips?
Not necessarily Cameron, There are a ton of techniques out there, and depending on which school you went to, the set of techniques taught may vary quite a bit. If you have pain, you should likely see a physical therapist or orthopedist who may come to the conclusion that this technique is necessary via movement assessment. Dr. B2
I am a LMT and not every massage therapist know these techniques, not every therapist knows trigger point therapy or deep leg work. Make sure when scheduling a massage, to clarify the work you want so you can be paired with the right therapist.
Great technique, just wondering why the camera angle of the first half of the video doesn't show the position of your fingers as you do in the last half of the video... It would increase the quality of the instruction video. ;-)
Hey Mario, Because it is not just about where you put your fingers. The body position of the professional is just as important... that is, if you want to have a long and healthy career it is important to learn good body mechanics early on. Dr. B2
I have a dent in my groin. I hurt my self about 1 year ago and I’m having sleeping problems. After 1 year I found out my groin is not flexing . I have tried many ways to flex it’s not flexing. What's up Brent. Been watching your videos for a while now. Came across your article on Anterior Oblique Subsystem and feel like it spoke to me and my physical issues. He is working the mid thigh first. I happen to have a knot exactly there and appreciate the video. That can be very uncomfortable, I know, I've got it. Just watch a video of them cleaning that mess up. It's pretty cool , weird, complicated and not at all, depending on what got glued to what, especially the main veins and stuff. That may help you to understand why those areas get attentions. Great video, but I'd rather see her bare skin, as it's easier to see.
