Great video btw I installed the same bags on my ram few years ago, It makes me laugh when i see the comments on how people are so concerned when towing a 24 foot Camper , I have been towing a 33.5 foot 9000 lbs camper for the last 8 years with my Ram 1500 3.92 gears across states and mountains and its thanks to these air bags .
For anyone doing this in the future, hook a T connection from both air bag lines to to 1 so you only have to fill one Schrader valve instead of both to the same psi!
Great job! I plan on installing this kit on my 2012 RAM 1500 as I plan to tow a 24' toy hauler around New Hampshire and Maine. This upgrade is definitely a less expensive route than buying a new 2500!! Looking forward to your load/towing test.
Thank you! This is super helpful. I just purchased an 18’ car hauler to tow my ‘68 Chevelle back from Alaska and my 2017 Ram is squattin like a saggin wagon. Can’t wait to get these installed so my truck tows level again. Thanks for the detailed video.
Old post... But, I purchased this same unit... I am very happy 😊 with this purchased product from Airsuspension and I have never looked back.. Also, I am 100% pleased with the WiFi use this product puts out.. Never really had a problem with connecting to the system.. I like 👍 this feature the best...
Thanks for that video. I’ve watched a lot of your ram upgrades. I’m a girl and will be doing this to my truck. I need to haul a 16 foot car trailer 1900 miles. Last time the trailer went across the country with a 2200 pound car, by the end the rams back end was squatting pretty bad.
Wow...seems like a lot of work...i one with the bags that fit inside the coils...been using for 6 years with no issues and tows a 34 foot camper without issue
A trick with the bags is don’t use both valves at the plate use a tee valve before the plate so you just put a single valve threw the plate so you put air in one valve and you get equal air pressure
And what about the times when left needs to be inflated or deflated for proper balance. My trailer is heavier on the right side so this concept would not work for my situation
I am currently building an auto level system for my rickety old 12valve, Similar air bag set up that rides on the leaf springs. but I am tying my air bags into an autolevel air valve then to a air dump switch which gets its air from a compressor tank that I mounted on the frame. The compressed air will be supplied by the trucks factory turbo charger which will charge up the air tank through a 1 way check valve. With this system I Dont have to check bag pressures or ride height. once I set the height it will ride at that set level loaded or empty automatically. The air dump switch is to dump the air bags to unhook the trailer easier or for servicing some thing on the truck that requires the air to be dumped.
Nice video. How do these bags ride when completely deflated? I tired bags before back in the 70's and 80's and they rode like empty Mack dump truck when they were deflated.
Literally doing the exact same thing for my 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn! I'm also looking to buy a 24' enclosed trailer for my move haha.. Moving to Tennessee in a month from Southern California (Finally). Please update us on how it tows with this setup. What weight distribution hitch did you buy for the trailer? Need to get this kit, tow mirrors, and hitch still. Good luck on your move, sounds like you're dialed! And big thank you for this video, now I feel (somewhat) confident in installing this on my own.
Shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve done that on plenty of trucks I’ve installed bags on. One things that helps are sway bars in the rear to keep the roll to a minimum.
Seems like a lot of work but doable. Not sure if I will farm it out to keep warranty. They seem very expensive installed /labor. You make it look easy. Thanks 305. Cheers!
You did a really good job when my buddy always put airlines on his truck he will always get real thin rubber hose that will slide over that and he would cover the whole airline and then that way if it did rub one anything there was no possible way of getting a hole rubbed in it
Are all your shocks still stock. I bought my 2015 ram 1500 used. Has the same set up in rear as yours, with air bags. Did you have to do anything to the front end ?
I like how stiff it makes the rear end of the truck. When I accelerate there's no coil movement. It also prevents the truck from driving like a boat. I wish I knew ahead of time how stiff the suspension was going to be. Bumps are 100 times worse then before. If there was a way to keep the factory jouce or whatever its called and mount the non ultimate air bags I would have done so, but oh well too late for me
thank you for posting your bag install. I've been pulling a 7000 Lbs trailer and have been meaning to do this job to increase rear end stability and leveling. Give us an update down the road and let us know if this was a significant quality of life improvement when towing your trailer all loaded up.
Made a HUGE difference! Feels like a 2500 in the back now and doesn’t bounce and buck when you hit big dips anymore. I would definitely do it again if askedb
Excellent vid actually... Question, did you consider the coil air bags? If not why? Question 2, 24 foot car trailer is getting up there, not sure if it's a 7 or 10 k trailer.... Wondering what you think it'll weigh loaded? I'm not positive how much my 5.7 2017 will tow legally and comfortably...
it’s not legal at all but i’ve had 22k behind a 14 1500 with the 5.7. now it didn’t like it but it made it from cleveland to st. louis. and that’s not the only time it’s been over the max towing capacity. it’s all about how you distribute the weight and run through the gears. also with that kinda weight even if you have trailer brakes always make sure you break plenty early enough
You are going to think you have a 3500 1 ton truck now 👍 I installed a set of these several years ago .. the exact same brand as yours an 5000 lbs as well … ooooh my god .. it would carry a load an never even budge I tell ya.. I never went over 60 psi as there was no need to .. only thing when your going to be empty for a while you will want them deflated as they will cause a rougher ride .. but you won’t even have to use those leveling bars with your trailer now .. it’s unbelievable the loads you will carry now .. jus keep an eye on your tires as you don’t want to go over the weight rating of them too much !! I truly believe theses are under rated .. they say 5000 lb rating an I say there more like 8thousand lbs easily . Great job on the install 👍
I might want to add this to my truck one day. I had a old camaro that had air bags on the rear. It had a T fitting between the airbags and one valve they you air both up at the same time.
Should have bought the Timbergrove air spring kit, no cutting, no grinding, no drilling and all the brackets are made out of stainless not painted, I just bought one today.
Does this kit work for lifted trucks? My ram has a mild (6 inch) lift with 35s. Also, why would this have 2 valves? wouldnt it lift more evenly if there was one valve 'T' ing off into each bag?
Good video man. I just installed the same airlift kit on my f350 to help with our truck camper that sits in the bed. Works good but now it sways worse than before.
Was looking to decide if I was going to purchase this Air Bag for my Ram 1500 and install them. Did these on my '05 Ram 2500 towing a large 5th wheel horse trailer. This is probably the best video I have ever watched on an installation. GREAT Video JOB.....
You can either empty the by the Schrader valve and most are 150 psi max also don’t run them through the plate if someone steals your plate they’ll break them had that happen with tag lights that replaced the plate bolts
Do you know if putting a t in the line to have a single fill valve to fill both faster and stay even.whether or not that has any negative affects like letting the truck away more . If the shocks are linked and the truck goes around a corner I feel this will compress the outside turn side and allow the inner turn side to lift making the truck when not towing feel like its leaning more or is that now how bags work..
Does anyone know what size airline this kits comes with? I've ordered them but would like to order a T junction so i get both and not have to wait for parts.
Why not just go with a WDH. Us RVers use them and they change the stability of your truck and trailer. Or time for us to start seeing 2500 builds from you.(would love it!). lol

Might be a dumb question. How often do you have to manually inflate or add air to the system? Since there isn’t a compressor.
How much air do you put in the bags when towing a 7000lb trailer with 700 lbs os hitch weight. Roughly?
