The Dude's voice is basically the only part of Postal 3 that RWS didn't disown. They brought Corey back both in Paradise Lost and as one of the voice options in Postal 4.
Honestly would have preferred him be the default in Postal 4. St. John nails the mannerisms but I can't unhear him as the Dude's dad. Corey *is* Postal Dude as much as Rick is TBH.
I wouldn't call Akella the biggest Russian game company at the time. It was in the big four, but the biggest? Nah. That'd probably be 1C, which both published higher profile foreign games AND had less infamous original titles produced, like the 2008 King's Bounty reboot series and Space Rangers. Akella would probably be #2 or 3.
Also it's worth mentioning that Akella is a pirate group evolved into an official company. 1C made freaking bookkeeping software before making games (and it's amazing, 1C Accounting is literally the best accounting software ever made, make other soft look absolutely unusable), and 1C always had their professonal side very clear, both in games and localization.
Not only that, it was voiced specifically by "Kurazh Bambei", the guy that is mostly known in russia as a pretty trashy voice actor who's voice is... Kinda bad in itself + is not even funny most of the time. And yes. That specifically ONE bad voice acting was the whole Postal 3 in Russia.

The collectors edition of postal 3 came with a dvd called “the making of postal 3” which is 1 hour documentary explaining the development it’s on UA-cam with English subtitles if your interested Also RWS were pretty ambitious with what they wanted and the design doc (which is 200 pages btw) And you do gotta remember RWS were the people who wanted the karma system, multiple paths and also wanted the weird filter on the screen during cutscenes and also wrote the crappy story and humor They should still also be held accountable for this

Basically, ZOOM Platform fixed this game without receiving any sort of credit. It's a shame that this game always gets a bad rap because of the original developers' negligence on delivering the stuff when it was ready without having to rush it. Now that ZOOM has the game fixed, everyone wants a piece of the pie and yet none of them have the title as complete as ZOOM does, Steam included. I hope those who get the complete copy warm up to this game. Honestly, it was never all that bad.

The first project of these developers was actually a cancelled ps2 project called Axel Rage. It was kinda a big deal at the time for a russian company to make a console game. Thanks to your video, I think this is the first time in like 20 years I thought about this game. How time flies...
Honestly, Corkscrew Rules is always good content to talk about. It's spectacularly terrible, and makes you appreciate the original Postal 2 about as much as Postal 3 does.
I only play the real postal 3 Paradise Lost the postal 2 DLC which is my favorite postal game of all time. I fucking love that game I do love the fact that Running With Scissors finally made postal 3 available to purchase on steam. Running With Scissors is my favorite video game company outside of a couple others but they're mainly the my favorite. Because of how they treat their old games and how they treat their fans

I dunno Postal 3 is pretty bad. Like I've played an uncountable number of games so I won't call Postal 3 one of worst games ever made. There's some real stank out there. But still, Postal 3 is an outright boring game. I cant speak to Postal 4 cause I haven't played it. The little bit I've seen it just looks kinda shallow and full of either outdated jokes or toilet humor. I think Civvie was only nice to it cause he's in it truth be told. Cause he is amazingly brutal to everything else.
Civvie was still pretty honest about the game from my memory, especially when the game was early alpha essentially and you could only play the first day, and John St John was the only voice of Postal dude... he was VERY critical about that, and how the town was lacking and empty, even talked shit about his own cameo appearance(which i do remember well, because I was shocked he did so) so i wouldnt say he ignored the red flags, but he was hopeful And for what it's worth, postal 4 is still better than postal 3. Which, is low bar so that doesn't mean it's doing much, but when comparing it to postal 3, it's gonna sound like you're praising it, even if the game is still bad. Postal: BD on the other hand, was fully praised, and for good reason.

Was kind of confused for a moment, turns out I was confusing this with the second game - I seem to have imagined another 2d Postal game after the first one. (So this would have been Postal 4.)
the biggest reason as to why postal 3 turned out the way that it did is because of the 2008 recession, most of the original team producing the game were all fired and replaced with a cheaper, less experienced team who rewrote most of the story, scrapped most of the assets and levels that the original team made and replaced it with their own and built on top of the existing unfinished code in order to make the game somewhat more functional then it was before. The original team wanted to make the game much closer to Postal 2 with hints of the darker grittier atmosphere of postal 1. They even had plans on it being more open world and less linear mission based. unfortunately we will probably never see the game that they originally had planned.
Akella CEO explained in the "making of" documentary that because of the recession and the fact that they were also working on Swashbucklers at the time they had given Postal 3 into the hands of their D-list team (A-C were working on Swashbucklers). Take that with a grain of salt tho, he looked like a russian mobster who is also a rock musician. While I agree that Postal 3 would've probably sucked anyway, the early development footage looked somewhat promissing. So maybe it would've been atleast somewhat fun.
Played Postal 3 when it came out. Just played Postal 4 after seeing the 1.3 update (I'm on friday). Although RWS may hate 3, it has more of a better story, interaction, and ultimately better NPC response system then 4 does. The only thing that Postal 4 has somewhat right is the combat and even that has issues. Call Vince and Mike so that they can burn me at the stake, but Akella ironically did a better job. Postal 3 is a few bug fixes from being a good successor game in my opinion.
3 had a lot of potential to be something truly great, even if the final product is terrible. I don't see that potential in 4 at all, and it pisses me off how obviously unfinished 4 STILL is.

Postal 3 is just a hard experience to go through. Everything feels rush and unfinished, and while gunplay can be fun, it's only capable with cerain weapons as the targeting system is awful. You have to work around the target reticule in order to get a handle on how to shoot with certain weapons.
This version did feel better with the aiming I remember back in the day the reticle was pretty much a lie. Could be placebo but I had much better accuracy this time around

I remember when this game came out. I got my first somewhat powerful PC back then with a i7 2600 and a GTX 560Ti, fall 2011. I remember looking at screenshots and being somewhat impressed and having played Postal 2 I was even more inclined to get it. Luckily for me I guess, there was some issues with the release of the game here in Germany, so I guess I dodged a bullet and saved some cash lol EDIT: 9:48 lmfao this is some classic postal gold though gotta admit. If only they kept the absurd punchlines and made the game actually sound from a gameplay perspective
I was one of the suckers who bought postal 3 at launch, I heard about it, I had fond memories of fun in postal 2, and was excited. I was sad when it was delayed, but waited patiently, then it came out. I had some fun, then suddenly I got crash after crash... and at one point couldnt play anymore, and I got warnings about the game containing virus. So I deleted and abandon it. Was sad I never got to finish it. And now, thanks to your video, I got a way to play it again, thanks to Zoom fixing it to be playable at least. I know the game is suppose to be bad.. and it is... but its still somewhat enjoyable, due to either nostalgia, or maybe that some missions are fun with how they just let you blast away and go postal. Anyway, thanks for making me aware of that I didnt have to give up on playing this game again, and maybe I can get to finish it this time. \../
the only good thing in this game is that the town looks much better than the town in postal 4 propably because it was made on the source engine, but still there is a project to restore the hub sections that were cut and it looks more impressive than the postal 4 environments. Its sad because not only this game was never finished but back then they made much better environments than modern games. Also bloodryane 1 scene is more fappable.

Well despite Postal 3 actually being somewhat playable now. There's fan project still currently going under development called "Catharsis reborn" And it's pretty ambitious to say the least, and it looks to be the Postal 3 we never got.
Also if you haven’t already, you should check out the dev logs for the project, there’s so much stuff being added and they are adding a huge amount of weapons and expanding it even further, Including a lot more attention to detail with it’s NPCs and environment. That’s probably why it’s taking so long lol.

I didn't played Postal 3 back in the days but trying to play it few years ago didn't go well. Like, after that section with the red button game just simply freezes dead and does not work since then. So yeah, I can't even play this f-cking game. And yes, I tried those fixes that people made for this game, but they didn't helped. But I think that it is good that I didn't played it because, judging from your video this game is just straight up sucks balls. And the fact that someone is like selling it for the real money is dumb right away. Because, this game deserves a freaking torrent edition, or some trashy section on my abandonware. I'm not joking. Cause, why somebody would sell such a bad game is beyond my understanding. Even with the fixes, this game does not worth any money at all. Even if zoom is selling it for the real money is too much. They just better give it for free to people to not embarrass themselves.
the problem with Postal 3 is how on the surface it looks like a decent game. sure it's not first person like P2, but they made sure to pay attention to the Dude's animations. they flow nicely, they blend properly, it looks good. hell, even the art style and execution of the materials are good, like Postal 3 LOOKS good, this art style suits Postal way better than Postal 2's, it's cartoony, it's stylized but it still looks kinda grounded in reality which is the perfect blend for a satirical game. sounds are kinda okay too, over the top gun sounds and all. it's just that .. yeah, we got this shitty storyline and mechanics that go against what defined Postal as a franchise. I really wish we would get a reverse engineering or an SDK job so we could develop stuff for it, and make a better Postal 3 experience with proper free roam
I do gotta say this since it is something I've been thinking for a while, if postal 3 had a workshop or open source code, it might have been a great postal game, just imagine if the community managed to create better and more open maps, take advantage of the potential of the source engine and stuff like that, it would have been great. Postal 2 isn't exactly as comfortable to mod and the graphics definitely aged like milk (it isn't to say that the game is bad) so having 3 be the most customizable one would have been really cool, besides the whole aesthetic and design has aged really well, this is my favorite Dude design out of all, and the whole game definitely looks way better than Postal 4 with all those asset flips. Postal 3 had a great potential that got wasted and thrown away without a single chance to be fixed even by the community, and it's a shame because I can tell that some game's communities are willing to go through the hustle to fix a boring and unplayable game, like Deadly premonition 1 or Blood 2 the chosen, I would have loved to play Postal 3 with a similar concept as 2.
There is a few mods that open the game a little more. And there is a not yet released mod called Catharsis Reborn where some people are trying to revamp the game
My favorite part is your character can be a legitimate deranged mofo in 100% of the previous games and the games after and the dude is supposed to be trailer trash so the "health" pipes is kinda expected for a health kit

Honestly, something about this game looks and feels more "right" than the Postal 4 that's being developed now. This actually feels like it was made by a professional studio. It's glitchy and was planned badly when you compare it to large scale games, but when you compare it to Postal 4, it's actually very embarrassing that RWS have alienated this game and made so much fun of it and then went on to develop an even lesser game, with superior technology.
The Zoom Version is the best and most complete and so is the Your Mom's box set that you can only get on Zoom. Postal 2 Zoom's version is the most complete version unlike steams or Gag's (GOG)
Gotta give RWS Credit for having Corey voice the Postal Dude as the Main Postal Dude in Brain Damaged (Hella Recommend it) and Postal 4 as a Playable Postal Dude. I always roll my eyes when [Series Name] 3 sucks and 2/1 was better in every way. With Postal? 100% true. Postal 3 was a dumpster fire that Running with Scissors prefer be forgot to time and made great great efforts to prevent people from having the means to obtain it or, at least, prevent people from spending money to get and play it. The Paradise Lost DLC for Postal 2 is essentially RWS apologizing for Postal 3 and retconning Postal 3 simultaneously. With any modifications, Postal 3 is not even worth pirating.

@@CDROMFossil lol a bit advise too, check out for brown crates they usually have health items or nothing but also watch out because they sometimes have enemies in them too. Also there was an infection meter too if I remember right so be sure to keep an eye on that, the game gives you booster shots and vaccines to fight it off. There are some other stuff I’m prob forgetting lol been a while since I played this game.
I preordered this game... In Russia we have a lot of third party keys stores, i know that overseas you guys have like.... 2 or so... and i know only CDKeys. But here we have like 50 at least and at least 10 of those are completely legit. Anyway, i bought this game in one of the legit stores, and i got a torrent link with legit ISO of the game, and key to install it XD it was one of the weirdest things ever but it worked. I just checked, i cant download it anymore, it doesnt exist on the website, so basically the game i bought in 2011 vanished XD No link, no key XD And it had a DLC called "Gamathrower", i dont know if it was exclusive to the store, cause store called "Gama-Gama"...

I did played the game to completion (yes I did) got all achievements except the last 2 that were broken and got deleted recently. A thing I had to point out making this even more baffling is that you can regain Good Karma. Fossil said if you lose Good Karma it's gone even if you do good deeds but if you end up having a bad Karma and you do good deeds you do gain good karma. SO YES, to regain good karma you have to go full bad karma. *facepalm*
I did learn this fact later when someone DMed me on Discord. I just....can't imagine trying to regain karma when everything comes crashing down on you once you go evil
@@CDROMFossil There used to be an achievement where you had to switch sides 5 times in one playthrough. It wasn't fun to do it especially how achievements in this game are broken since sometimes the game didn't took into account the change making me having to do it at least 20-30 attempts. Edit : It got deleted with the other 2 unobtainable achievements.
Everyone the steam version got the zoom fixes and the mod support and the fart gun it was included in the latest update it was added in the 2024 January 29 update of this awful game so yeah

From what I understand, Rampage is based on an early draft of the Postal movie, when it was going to be a Postal 1 movie instead of a Postal 2 movie.

I dunno Postal 3 is pretty bad.
Like I've played an uncountable number of games so I won't call Postal 3 one of worst games ever made. There's some real stank out there. But still, Postal 3 is an outright boring game.
I cant speak to Postal 4 cause I haven't played it. The little bit I've seen it just looks kinda shallow and full of either outdated jokes or toilet humor.
I think Civvie was only nice to it cause he's in it truth be told. Cause he is amazingly brutal to everything else.
Civvie was still pretty honest about the game from my memory, especially when the game was early alpha essentially and you could only play the first day, and John St John was the only voice of Postal dude... he was VERY critical about that, and how the town was lacking and empty, even talked shit about his own cameo appearance(which i do remember well, because I was shocked he did so) so i wouldnt say he ignored the red flags, but he was hopeful
And for what it's worth, postal 4 is still better than postal 3. Which, is low bar so that doesn't mean it's doing much, but when comparing it to postal 3, it's gonna sound like you're praising it, even if the game is still bad.
Postal: BD on the other hand, was fully praised, and for good reason.

Was kind of confused for a moment, turns out I was confusing this with the second game - I seem to have imagined another 2d Postal game after the first one. (So this would have been Postal 4.)
There's a remaster of the first one, and there's a newer-ish FPS not by RWS called Brain Damaged
Technically there was a 2D one called POSTAL Babes.
the biggest reason as to why postal 3 turned out the way that it did is because of the 2008 recession, most of the original team producing the game were all fired and replaced with a cheaper, less experienced team who rewrote most of the story, scrapped most of the assets and levels that the original team made and replaced it with their own and built on top of the existing unfinished code in order to make the game somewhat more functional then it was before. The original team wanted to make the game much closer to Postal 2 with hints of the darker grittier atmosphere of postal 1. They even had plans on it being more open world and less linear mission based. unfortunately we will probably never see the game that they originally had planned.
Akella CEO explained in the "making of" documentary that because of the recession and the fact that they were also working on Swashbucklers at the time they had given Postal 3 into the hands of their D-list team (A-C were working on Swashbucklers). Take that with a grain of salt tho, he looked like a russian mobster who is also a rock musician. While I agree that Postal 3 would've probably sucked anyway, the early development footage looked somewhat promissing. So maybe it would've been atleast somewhat fun.
Played Postal 3 when it came out. Just played Postal 4 after seeing the 1.3 update (I'm on friday). Although RWS may hate 3, it has more of a better story, interaction, and ultimately better NPC response system then 4 does. The only thing that Postal 4 has somewhat right is the combat and even that has issues. Call Vince and Mike so that they can burn me at the stake, but Akella ironically did a better job. Postal 3 is a few bug fixes from being a good successor game in my opinion.

3 had a lot of potential to be something truly great, even if the final product is terrible. I don't see that potential in 4 at all, and it pisses me off how obviously unfinished 4 STILL is.

Postal 3 is just a hard experience to go through. Everything feels rush and unfinished, and while gunplay can be fun, it's only capable with cerain weapons as the targeting system is awful. You have to work around the target reticule in order to get a handle on how to shoot with certain weapons.
This version did feel better with the aiming I remember back in the day the reticle was pretty much a lie. Could be placebo but I had much better accuracy this time around

Postal 3 was definitely a worked on game of all time.
I remember when this game came out. I got my first somewhat powerful PC back then with a i7 2600 and a GTX 560Ti, fall 2011.
I remember looking at screenshots and being somewhat impressed and having played Postal 2 I was even more inclined to get it.
Luckily for me I guess, there was some issues with the release of the game here in Germany, so I guess I dodged a bullet and saved some cash lol

I was one of the suckers who bought postal 3 at launch, I heard about it, I had fond memories of fun in postal 2, and was excited. I was sad when it was delayed, but waited patiently, then it came out. I had some fun, then suddenly I got crash after crash... and at one point couldnt play anymore, and I got warnings about the game containing virus. So I deleted and abandon it. Was sad I never got to finish it. And now, thanks to your video, I got a way to play it again, thanks to Zoom fixing it to be playable at least. I know the game is suppose to be bad.. and it is... but its still somewhat enjoyable, due to either nostalgia, or maybe that some missions are fun with how they just let you blast away and go postal. Anyway, thanks for making me aware of that I didnt have to give up on playing this game again, and maybe I can get to finish it this time. \../

the only good thing in this game is that the town looks much better than the town in postal 4 propably because it was made on the source engine, but still there is a project to restore the hub sections that were cut and it looks more impressive than the postal 4 environments. Its sad because not only this game was never finished but back then they made much better environments than modern games. Also bloodryane 1 scene is more fappable.

And it's pretty ambitious to say the least, and it looks to be the Postal 3 we never got.

Also if you haven’t already, you should check out the dev logs for the project, there’s so much stuff being added and they are adding a huge amount of weapons and expanding it even further, Including a lot more attention to detail with it’s NPCs and environment.

I didn't played Postal 3 back in the days but trying to play it few years ago didn't go well. Like, after that section with the red button game just simply freezes dead and does not work since then. So yeah, I can't even play this f-cking game. And yes, I tried those fixes that people made for this game, but they didn't helped. But I think that it is good that I didn't played it because, judging from your video this game is just straight up sucks balls. And the fact that someone is like selling it for the real money is dumb right away. Because, this game deserves a freaking torrent edition, or some trashy section on my abandonware. I'm not joking. Cause, why somebody would sell such a bad game is beyond my understanding. Even with the fixes, this game does not worth any money at all. Even if zoom is selling it for the real money is too much. They just better give it for free to people to not embarrass themselves.
the problem with Postal 3 is how on the surface it looks like a decent game. sure it's not first person like P2, but they made sure to pay attention to the Dude's animations. they flow nicely, they blend properly, it looks good. hell, even the art style and execution of the materials are good, like Postal 3 LOOKS good, this art style suits Postal way better than Postal 2's, it's cartoony, it's stylized but it still looks kinda grounded in reality which is the perfect blend for a satirical game. sounds are kinda okay too, over the top gun sounds and all. it's just that .. yeah, we got this shitty storyline and mechanics that go against what defined Postal as a franchise. I really wish we would get a reverse engineering or an SDK job so we could develop stuff for it, and make a better Postal 3 experience with proper free roam

I do gotta say this since it is something I've been thinking for a while, if postal 3 had a workshop or open source code, it might have been a great postal game, just imagine if the community managed to create better and more open maps, take advantage of the potential of the source engine and stuff like that, it would have been great.
Postal 2 isn't exactly as comfortable to mod and the graphics definitely aged like milk (it isn't to say that the game is bad) so having 3 be the most customizable one would have been really cool, besides the whole aesthetic and design has aged really well, this is my favorite Dude design out of all, and the whole game definitely looks way better than Postal 4 with all those asset flips.
Postal 3 had a great potential that got wasted and thrown away without a single chance to be fixed even by the community, and it's a shame because I can tell that some game's communities are willing to go through the hustle to fix a boring and unplayable game, like Deadly premonition 1 or Blood 2 the chosen, I would have loved to play Postal 3 with a similar concept as 2.

Honestly, something about this game looks and feels more "right" than the Postal 4 that's being developed now. This actually feels like it was made by a professional studio. It's glitchy and was planned badly when you compare it to large scale games, but when you compare it to Postal 4, it's actually very embarrassing that RWS have alienated this game and made so much fun of it and then went on to develop an even lesser game, with superior technology.

Unfortunately Boiing Point is currently under Ziggurat so Zoom aren't the ones responsible for patching that one.
The Zoom Version is the best and most complete and so is the Your Mom's box set that you can only get on Zoom. Postal 2 Zoom's version is the most complete version unlike steams or Gag's (GOG)
Gotta give RWS Credit for having Corey voice the Postal Dude as the Main Postal Dude in Brain Damaged (Hella Recommend it) and Postal 4 as a Playable Postal Dude.

I always roll my eyes when [Series Name] 3 sucks and 2/1 was better in every way. With Postal? 100% true. Postal 3 was a dumpster fire that Running with Scissors prefer be forgot to time and made great great efforts to prevent people from having the means to obtain it or, at least, prevent people from spending money to get and play it. The Paradise Lost DLC for Postal 2 is essentially RWS apologizing for Postal 3 and retconning Postal 3 simultaneously.
With any modifications, Postal 3 is not even worth pirating.

Also there was an infection meter too if I remember right so be sure to keep an eye on that, the game gives you booster shots and vaccines to fight it off. There are some other stuff I’m prob forgetting lol been a while since I played this game.

I preordered this game... In Russia we have a lot of third party keys stores, i know that overseas you guys have like.... 2 or so... and i know only CDKeys. But here we have like 50 at least and at least 10 of those are completely legit. Anyway, i bought this game in one of the legit stores, and i got a torrent link with legit ISO of the game, and key to install it XD it was one of the weirdest things ever but it worked. I just checked, i cant download it anymore, it doesnt exist on the website, so basically the game i bought in 2011 vanished XD No link, no key XD And it had a DLC called "Gamathrower", i dont know if it was exclusive to the store, cause store called "Gama-Gama"...

I did played the game to completion (yes I did) got all achievements except the last 2 that were broken and got deleted recently. A thing I had to point out making this even more baffling is that you can regain Good Karma. Fossil said if you lose Good Karma it's gone even if you do good deeds but if you end up having a bad Karma and you do good deeds you do gain good karma. SO YES, to regain good karma you have to go full bad karma. *facepalm*
I did learn this fact later when someone DMed me on Discord. I just....can't imagine trying to regain karma when everything comes crashing down on you once you go evil
@@CDROMFossil There used to be an achievement where you had to switch sides 5 times in one playthrough. It wasn't fun to do it especially how achievements in this game are broken since sometimes the game didn't took into account the change making me having to do it at least 20-30 attempts. Edit : It got deleted with the other 2 unobtainable achievements.
Everyone the steam version got the zoom fixes and the mod support and the fart gun it was included in the latest update it was added in the 2024 January 29 update of this awful game so yeah
