The light, the crisp detail, the softness and the mood. Emma you are a gifted artist. You inspire me to keep aiming to achieve such beautiful expressive realism in animal portraits.
Heyyy Emma 😊 I am so happy to share this with you that after watching so many of your videos, I bought my Velour which is way more expensive than pastelmat in our area ,still I wanted to try it once , and the best and happiest thing for me is that I loved it more than pastelmat, before I used to work on Strathmore Artagain assorted paper because of its cost effectiveness, even pastelmat was not available before and was tooo much expensive but thanks to my elder sister, now I have tried both the best papers for soft pastel, but seriously I loved Velour very much , thank you to u too , I love watching ur videos, I like the way u speak and teach ,😊God bless ❤️ 💙 💖 ♥️ 💕
What a lovely comment! So happy to hear you had a chance to experiment and enjoyed the paper. Keep experimenting when you can and discover what works best for you. I'm glad I could recommend something that you ended up enjoying!
I love oil painting too but have not had time for that in years. Too busy with pastel and have a lot to learn in oils. I also like charcoal drawing, graphite, and I would love to learn watercolour! But I'm also too obsessed with pastel to work on these other mediums...some day!

Did you *use a photograph* / use _an image_ as a *reference* to work From?
Thank you
Yes I used a photo I took but changed the background. You can see the ref top left of the screen while I'm working.
Amazing artwork 👏👏..however Emma besides pastels if asked which other medium do you like? And why?

@@EmmaColbertArt i feel your oil paintings will be amazing as the concepts are same as pastels
Is it true that pastelists don't like mixing colours...that's why you like pastels?
I love mixing colours. Many pastel artists don't blend but I do.
1st like n 1st comment dear.
