Need a Part 2 with Butch, Rob, Chris, Nick, Rich and Lynn as the next guests on the hot seat
Don't forget Sydney
This was fun. Thanks to George for herding everyone and thanks to everyone else for making it so entertaining. Always enjoy the insights that seem to come from episodes like this. Best question? To Canz as to who is more opionated. Best new SoT T-shirt slogan? Criag Kaminski's "I've Got S__t To Do!". Best discussion? The condiment debate with the somewhat surprising information from Ralph. Best return particpant? Jack's back! Too many more to mention but a show that will require rewatching in bits and pieces. Thanks again, everyone!
Thanks John, appreciate it, man.
Killer questions
No softies
-George Lamie
I really liked this format. And it’s clear a huge amount of work went into thinking about the questions for each specific guest. Thank you!
Karen's look of confusion on the Greenday vs. Blink 182 question was hilarious.
Edit: Ralph never having mustard or ketchup or mayo is the most shocking thing I've ever heard on SoT HA HA
Never had a fish taco either!
Excellent show! Karen did a great job with the Ramones question!
The Ken/Luis question to Canz had me in stitches! Good one, George! Also, who knew an innocent choice between ketchup and mustard would incite such an epic back-and-forth 😆 Ketchup belongs on a lot of things, INCLUDING hot dogs, haha!
Great show with a great format! 👍
Really fun episode. A part 2 would be great. A Monster’s Den episode of this would be awesome.
Chris having to pick between two dodgy films does have immediate comedic potential!
Bravo George.
We want part 2!
George absolutely nailed it.
Pete/ GEORGE great collaboration. To all the co hosts tremendous job. Much enjoyed. Thank you for your time 👍💯
Another great discussion..Thank you to all participents......
To all the Hudson valley squares if you ever come put west for a show in Colorado let me know best Monday show ever!
It's always a special episode when Jack's involved!
Thanks Lionel !!!!
Going back to what Chris said about smaller venues, I agree that smaller venues are more fun because they're intimate and you feel more connected to the band throughout the experience! Granted, at arena shows, the visuals on the screens are cool, but they're distracting to look at. I want to focus on the bands, not look at a bunch of screens. I saw Rival Sons in August 2023 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas and it was the best concert I've seen so far in my life! Jay Buchanan was like 10 feet away from me and it was awesome!
There has to be a part 2 or more!!! This was one of the best episodes.
As my man Bob Segarini RIP(aka The Iceman Q107 Toronto) sang" I like The Beatles but my baby loves the Rolling Stones. Also, Hemisphere's for the win . The first time seeing Rush live was on that tour. Fun show guys.
Painted Horse and No One Came are in my top 10 DP songs. Way to go Craig!!
Killer episode! The guys are all great and Karen is just a ray of heavy metal sunshine. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great episode. Loved this format!
Great show guys! We definitely need other episodes.
The vast amount of knowledge that comes from you guys amazes me every time. I realize how dumb I am!
This was brilliant! 😂 Love the Ryan / Karen row about the Stones and BOC - of course, Ryan is correct 😂😂😂 - and just like my fellow Brits - Simon and Steven - I hate the Stones too! Whiny noise merchants! 😅
I think they might be romantically connected.
@@martymartin2894 No, we're not. We just have the same sense of humor
@@karenlaprez8358oh right I thought I sensed a bit of chemistry or flirting going on on a few shows ha. Sorry for jumping the gun.
@@martymartin2894 No worries! :)
Great show ! Hope it happens again
I love the show! Please do more!
I had a dream last night that I had to go back to the home office in New Jersey and you were all there filming the Hudson valley squares there.
Please do part 2! I'd personally love to see a bottom of the barrel version of this where you guys pick the lesser of two evils. (Most despised bands)
Cool shirt Ralph. I need to get one of those.
🤘 Hell's Headbangers have them in stock right now
LOVE this and the ITPS episode! Fun fun fun! STONES for sure!
Tell 'em!
Ryan is the man, Scandi Death Metal and picked herrings
Excellent episode!
Excellent episode had a great laugh with everyone thoughts went into some of the answers..hop3 it happens again ..
For people who enjoyed this the prog version is worth a go as well😆 Thanks guys, a great escape from all the family grief I'm going through currently, the best👍
Great show, killer questions George!
Just wanted to add: The place with the free bar pies is Johnny Mac House of Spirits in Asbury Park, NJ
Great shirt Pete!!!!! Great to be back with my "Friends" at HVS!!!!!!
For me, the food talk was easily the best thing about this episode. Frankfurters? I've had them with ketchup, mustard, and sauerkraut (but never with anything of the three combined.) I've also had them plain. I'm good with them all, though nowadays, whenever I decide to have one, it's usually plain.
Mayo? That has always been one of my least favorite condiments. Never had it on a frankfurter, and on hot pastrami sandwiches (or wraps), it is _always_ spicy mustard, never mayo. And to think, there are people who like their fries with mayo - this is fairly popular in places/nations from which many an SoT viewer hails, so I won't name them. 😉
With Karen on the Ramones!
Fun episode.
Craig with The Greatest t-shirt!
Great show. Karen well said re The Ramones.
More This or That, please, maybe once a month. So enertaining...
Christopher Lee's Dracula is much less human than Bela Lugosi's.
Part 2 and Monster's Den, bring it on!!!!!!
Enjoying this. Have to split it into several sessions though. 😅
Great show...Ralph I have the same exact taste as you I never had ketchup mustard mayonnaise or salad..I eat my hamburgers plain also
🤘
I agree Ryan elote is amazing
I pictured Jack leaping into that grand LAKE behind him, whilst others were answering their questions. And then, George calling loudly out to Jack in the middle of the lake to answer his.
Maybe Jack getting attacked by an alligator as well.
🐊
Lol, my late father-in-law once told me there was an alligator in that lake. Of course I knew he was full of it since that is an actual lake in the Adirondacks.
This was awesome. and, as a guy from Long Island, Jack is Sooooo Lawn Guyland!
Lol
Karen's face on blink 182 or green day.🤣🤣🤣
Good stuff, dudes and dudette! Good questions to, George! I will defend ketchup on a hot dog, along with mustard of course and sauerkraut doesn't belong on this planet. lol Great show all!
Sanford and Son and All in the Family, both based on UK shows (Steptoe and Son and Till Death do Us Part). I thought they were not popular when remade in the US???? What I like about SoT is how there is a lot of UK and US crossover.
All in the Family is one of the most popular sitcoms ever here. It's legendary. Sanford and Son was also great.
Damn, Canz came up with some funny shit on this! Please make a pt2, be good to add Butch, Nick and Chris to this panel🙂
I like that the only one who answered "both" was George :-)
LOL! Then Karen set him straight.
Great questions George! Steven was a bit too nice last time. You learned from it.
saw Dark Tranquility open of Operh in Prov. RI, Awesome show!!!!
Hilarious watching you debate much longer over the best pizza place than over any music question.
Great show everyone, made my Monday night!! 🤘. Ginger or MaryAnn? lol
PART TWO!
This is great !
I love the Ramones, but the influence on British punk is overstated. If you take The Pistols or The Damned, there's a lot more New York Dolls and Alice Cooper to the sound as well as sixties stuff like The Who and The Creation. And then there was the London based Pub Rock circuit influence. The first Clash Album is very influenced by The Ramones but even then you could throw in Third World War as a lyrical inspiration. Also a lot of it grew out of 70s Glam Rock because English youngsters like to hit the dressing up box. You can hear quite a bit of Bowie, T Rex and Mott the Hoople in a some of the other bands. There was even a prog element. The Banshees, Wire, X Ray Spex. Now you get all these subgenre labels that were not current at the time. Terms like Proto punk and Post Punk create an artificial separation. I think the same thing happens to a lot of music. I went through a big dance music phase. There, was at one point , a subgenre of Drum and Bass called Intelligent Drum and Bass .I haven't a clue what made it intelligent.
I'm old so I remember this kind of thing.
Hello George, that was a fun show for real. I must admit that I wasnt too fond of the concept when you first did it on In The Prog Seat, but I honestly enjoyed myself tonight ! By the way I hope you're not too bitter about Ryan picking Montreal over Chicago lol ! See you whenever we do !
Mustard and sometimes sauerkraut on a hot dog. Mayo on a burger. Ketchup on fries. That's it.
Cool episode content!
Love to see Jack on the show again! Appreciate his answer on the physical media vs. Spotify question.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!!
Maiden's not playing "To Tame a Land" on the current tour, though they should've busted it out due to the recent "Dune" movies. You might be thinking of "Alexander the Great."
Count Ralfus: "Onward to Golgotha" or "Effigy of the Forgotten?"
Effigy by a hair, both are masterpieces 🤘🤘
Fun episode. A part 2 would be great.
My favorite hot dog ever had mustard, ketchup, Mayo, sautéed peppers, and jalapeños.
🤮
Definitely The Wall
🌠 U GUYS ROCK !!!!
51,never had a pint of beer.
Jones Beach has changed .. alcohol is now allowed in your seat
Good to know. Haven't been to a metal concert there in several years, too many other good venues to choose from.
Never ketchup, mustsrd or mayo???? my head explodes.
Never had a fish taco either 😅
@@countralfus6408 same
Part 2 is coming soon, I hope!
Great episode
In Cincinnati they put chili sauce on their hot dogs sometimes they add cheese also
I used to like chili dogs, but then they reminded me of John Cougar Mellencamp and made me sick, so now I only eat hot dogs plain 😅
@@countralfus6408 don't let John Mellencamp ruin it for you! We have a lot of Greek chili parlors in Cincinnati it's very good you just got to get used to it
Hair bands, Pete!!!
I’m gonna put on some Beatles and schenker eat some Mexican food with a shot of 1942 tequila then watch some all in the family. PS: I’ve never had a corn dog or a candied apple. Night folks.
You should do this again with the people who missed today.
Ketchup and mustard on a hot dog
Best fish tacos southern california
Nice vidéo😄👍
Pizza is all about the water and the crust. Best in Florida mellow mushroom. Salt lake the pie. Colorado abo’s
Best Mexican La Puente in Salt Lake City or the blue iguana!
If you all are in Florida go to frechys best grouper sandwich on the planet
Best fish tacos Southern California
Karen, The Mummies or The Makers?
Craig, Fu Manchu or Nebula?
Good question! Fu Manchu for me, although I prefer Nebula’s 2000-2007 output over the Fu output of that same time period.
Wow! For a live performance It's The Mummies, hands down. As far as records go, I'm going to say the Makers even though they only had a few good records.
@@karenlaprez8358 I’d say The Makers were one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen! The Mummies were also awesome!
@@TripRon I think the Makers are great live but the Mummies are more exciting for me.
Live After Death is the greatest live album of all time. Of any band.
The Munsters or the Addams Family ?
Disappointed George didn't ask Italian Beef or Cheese steak? 😉
Not sure any of these New Yawkers has ever had a real Italian Beef
@@georgelamie7001 I've had a few hundred Cheesesteak in Philly never been to Chicago so no Italian Beef for me....Yet!
@@georgelamie7001 lol, I've never had an Italian Beef hoagie
Cans has jokes
And definitely MUSTARD >>>> ketchup forever lol.
🤮
I like Karen's take on the Ramones.
Id much prefer an album war than this format, but i must say that George done a great job on the questions.
And when we do album wars, people want something else...
@@seaoftranquilityprogGoing by the comments most people like this just not me 👍👍👍
I am a plain person usually, not always.
Sauerkraut only on bratwursts, otherwise mayo on inferior dogs. Cannot stand mustard and can only do ketchup sparingly.
Fantastic everyone....I am English and i love Mayo and Ketchup on hot dogs....don't hate me please
🤮
Ralph, your voice sounded a bit weak tonight. Are you hanging in there?
Im doing good, I was a little fatigued during this recording but some days are just like that 🤘
@@countralfus6408 Great to read you're doing ok👍 Altars of Madness vs Reign in Blood? Powerslave vs Defenders? Just bands I think of with you 🎸
@@seekah1 reign in blood & Powerslave 🤘🤘
@@countralfus6408 Yeah RiB I'm with you but soooo close, both amazing albums. I'm surprised you went with Powerslave though Ralph, I know Defenders is patchy but for me it's aged better overall (despite Rime being my fave Maiden track ever!). Thanks for reply dude take care.
Winger IS NOT an hair band! It's a really good hard rock band with prog elements in many of their songs. It's real musicianship, musicians, compositions and themes. Although they had a certain "hair metal" moments, in the past, but I think it was an effort for more recognition among what was popular, or something like that. But please, do not place Winger in the same category of typical hair metal bands, because they were and are a far more serious band and musicians.
You and I know that, but the world in general labels them as such, which is why I mentioned them.
