    Stallone’s beef recently has more been with producer Irwin Winkler, who refuses to relinquish the rights of the character/franchise to him, and has been wanting to develop stuff like a Drago spin-off without him. In terms of this movie specifically, Stallone has kinda been back-and-forth. He said as far back as “Creed II”, that he wouldn’t reprise Rocky following that movie. When Prt 2 came out, Stallone posted saying that the film would be his final appearance as the character. He later said that he read a script treatment for “Creed III” and saw that Rocky didn’t really have a particularly large role, and ultimately he disagreed with the tone of the movie which he said goes down some dark places. Honestly, I’d rather him not be in the movie if it’s just gonna be a thankless background role. Considering what the story is here; a story rooted in Adonis’ criminal past, which is something completely unrelated to Rocky, I’m okay with his absence. Let this be Adonis’ story, after the first two were so deeply entrenched with Rocky’s. And why not go a bit darker with the tone/story considering it touching upon a part of Adonis’ history that was clearly established to be very troubled? That would be something new for this franchise, Rocky or Creed. Stallone has said that he is open to returning to the “Creed” series of Michael B asked him; however he absolutely wants nothing to do with Irwin Winkler.

    Personally, I enjoyed Creed 2 as much as Creed 1 and I know I'm going to enjoy this one a lot. You two are right about the amazing shape Jonathan Majors got in for this movie. I was like "Damn! He's pumped up". I've lost at least 100 lbs. of weight by just changing my eating habit over about 5 years without exercising and I can see my abs again. I'm going to start on my muscle training to build strong tone muscles cause I don't want to be bulky. I want that deceptively strong body that can be close in strength with bulky, but faster and more agile. Get in some martial arts, weapons and survival training as well.
    This movie is going to be so good and I can't wait to see it. Enjoyed the trailer reaction 👍👍✌ out.

      I though Creed II was a step down, but I certainly didn’t have the disdain that Jaby and Achars seemed to have for it. Considering what the conceit of the story was, I just thought it would hit a bit more, and have more thematic resonance than just a light revenge story. That being said, there are a few deleted scenes available on both the dvd and UA-cam, that I think should’ve been included in the Final Cut. They added so much more story, context and character development that I think was missing.

    • @thedefinitionisthis
      @thedefinitionisthis Рік тому

      @@AdamRee-lx8uh To each their own, but by and large "Creed II" is widely seen as a step down from the first one. I still like it, mind you, I just personally didn't like it as much as the first one. Like I said, given what the premise of the story was, I don't think the movie had the thematic resonance the first one (or the third one, for that matter) did. For lack of a better explanation, it just seemed like surface-level drama without really getting into the thick of it. With that first movie, it really leads up to the moment in the final fight where Adonis just point-blank says he's fighting to prove he's not a mistake, given his being a product of an affair & facing abandonment issues. With the second one, it's just a "revenge" story, but not really? Because Rocky already "avenged" Apollo, and Viktor had nothing to do with it. The only reason Adonis a goaded into fighting is simply a bruised ego, which isn't a lot to go on. By the end of his second fight with Viktor, what has he really accomplished by winning? He certainly doesn't "avenge" his father. That's why I REALLY wish they kept this deleted scene where Adonis & Viktor actually talk to each other after their 2nd fight, and they come to an understanding that they both need to move on from whatever happened between their dads (and Rocky). At least there, we see legitimate character growth and not just "damn, I lost. I need to win to feel good again."

    Creed III is going to be are hard epic movie. The journey of the fall but rise because of the sins from the past. Life hits hard like a Rocky movie. I can feel the spirit of Rocky in this movie even though he is not in the movie. Regardless of how people may feel about that all that matters is paying homage and respect to what was left and now you build on that foundation. As Sylvester Stallone told Michael B Jordan on the last night of shooting Creed II and he said, go tell your story and then the last line of to Rocky Adonis after the fight with Victor Drago. Rocky said, it’s your time now. My brother in Christ Craig James aka 5ive made a song called rise and it’s so true how life just beats you down in the present and things from your past come back to add more weight as you feel hopeless. Even if you have moved on from your past it seems like it comes back regardless if it’s someone you hurt or someone that hurt you it always comes back full circle and needs to be addressed to have closure and peace but no matter what happens whether you fall on your face because of your own clumsiness or because someone wants to get back at you and take back what it is you supposedly stole from them. So they try inflict pain, guilt, and bloodshed. God can uses bad though to turn it around for good and victory. Without defeat you will never appreciate the times that you win. No matter what happens in this messed up and crumbled up life whether it be people to use you to get ahead or the pain they cause is because they don’t have God in their life or they have taken the wheel and told him this is my life. It doesn’t matter though how many times you get knocked down you can always get back up if you choose to and as long as the referee doesn’t count to 10 you can rise from the canvas. The hand of mankind has failed and will continue to let people down but the hands, the arms, and just the presence of Jesus will never fail you and how I know this is because i am in a season right now and been in seasons in the past and God has and will see me through just like he will with you if you take his outstretched hand and let him pick you up off the canvas and you listen to him as he manages you through this fight called life. Be blessed by the song in the link below one love in Jesus name.

      @@WORKSbaby I hope my brother you was blessed by the song in the my last comments if not you should check it out. Also the creed III final trailer is off the charts if you haven’t seen it already you should check it out. The quote in the beginning gives me chills of Adonis trying to tap into the roots of his father Apollo.
      Do you remember in Rocky 4 what Apollo said to Rocky?
      He said, “You and me we don’t have a chose. We are born with this killer instinct that you can turn on and off like some radio. We have to be in the middle of the action because we are the warriors. With out some challenge without some war to fight then we as mind as well be dead stallion.

Incredible hard work it must've taken for Majors to get here but an average person cannot and should not wish for this physique if they are not ready to give up their social, mental and financial well being pursuing it. This physique is only justified if it's the demand of your full time job. And those who take the decision and commit, definitely have my respect. But this is Not body goals at all. In fact I'd go to say that your physique although short of it, is closer to the dream physique of a handsome young man than majors is. A few extra pounds of muscles, a few clean bulk and cut cycles then finally followed by going slightly low on body fat % and you'll have a true, achievable dream bod of a majority of the working population.
