+Mayor Fuglycool Just received my bk9, could not be happier with it. However I noticed a smaller sheath on the primary one. After doing some research I found out it's supposed to fit the remora. I'm not sure if you have any becker/kabar neck knives, but do you know if a bigger necker would fit into the little sheath?
Mark Richardson Sharpner, multitool, ferro rod, fishing line + hook, and other accessories will fit in that pouch. Other knives that might fit are the Kabar neck knives and small 3" blades. I have seen someone put a small pistol in that pouch as well, so I am sure that the pouch can be used for many things :) Mayor Fuglycool
I have a BK 9, so when I saw the title of this video, I had to watch. Holy crap! I've never seen anyone test a knife this extremely, it was awesome! Now I know I have a great knife I can depend on, and you have a new subscriber.
Awesome! Thank you, Mayor for testing your BK9! I really appreciate your willingness to put your blades and even your own safety on the line for your viewers! Thanks for mentioning me too, that was so cool of you. I look forward to more of your reviews and also on your other food channel maybe too if you can, I've been catching up on some of those also.. These Becker knives are really great, I got some micarta handle scales for my BK9 and boy they really just kick the feel of the knife up several notches. Your chickens are hella cool, too. I'd like to dig up some worms for them and watch them eat them lol. Thanks again, Mayor! You rock!
+Grippy McJimping I am glad that you enjoyed the test ;) I did pull this from my collection, just to test for you. I also of course wanted to see if it was strong enough to survive, and it passed with flying colors. Thanks for watching friend, and I will have more stuff to come :) Mayor Fuglycool
The shitty sheath Becker sends this knife is a deal breaker for me. I decided on the ESEE Junglas based solely on the sheath ESEE sends the knife in compared to the nylon garbage the BK-9 comes in. Having a good knife show up in something made by a 12 year old in a sweat shop is a pet peeve of mine to the point where I have started looking at the sheath first. I've bought my last custom kydex. From now on, if a knife maker wants my money, they have to care enough to send it in a functional sheath.
Another awesome video from the mayor! Thanks for doing these tests. Many people would say that they are "abusive or unreasonable" but I like seeing how far a blade can go before it breaks. It tells you just how much a manufacturer cares about their product. Keep them coming brother!
This is the video that I watched a few years ago when I wanted to buy a good knife. Since then I have bought a few more k-bar knives after buying this one I just came back to watch the video again.
it hurts my heart to watch this guy, he does to much. however like a train wreck I can't stop watching and refuse to look away. love your Chanel keep it up.
When I first saw your knife fighting tactics and the jumping around like a rabbit on crack, I laughed and thought you were some kind of crackpot. Once I watched past that, I became more interested and then found I enjoyed your destruction testing. Better than the same old wood splitting videos. The BK 9 is an absolute monster. That's why I own one and will own more Beckers as the budget allows.
+James Cooper I am glad that you enjoy my videos ! To be honest, the slashing test that I do in the beginning of the test is not a knife fighting tactic by any means. That movement is just for me to handle, and feel the flow of the blade. In a real self defense situation, there are many variables. I will say for the record, that I am not a knife master by no means. The slashing movement is for the feel of the blade, nothing more :) Thanks for watching friend, and I hope you have fun watching my videos ! Mayor Fuglycool

Just discovered your channel. Very nice test!... I would like you do more torture to the BK-9 and see how resistences it is. I saw the Destruction test of All Outdoors, and the BK 9 brakes very fast in the concrate test.
Okay. You’ve convinced me. Although I would never do those things to my BK-9. If the need arose, I’m confident that my knife will meet any test I could conceive. However, I also know that any knife will fail under extreme conditions. But, I now have more confidence in my BK-9. Thanks.
I have only seen a BK series knife break once, at the point where the skeletonized tang meats the blade. I was actually surprised about quite how much stock is removed from the tang tbh. This said, the dude was chopping up full sized logs with it, and using a claw hammer. The stress spikes from the metal-on-metal impacts were probably what finished it off. I mean you can chip an anvil if you strike face hard enough.
Yeah they used to be full tang without the holes. They are more vulnerable now. I've read accounts of them breaking with chopping only. But that should still be the very minority of them I suppose.
@@Ve-suvius Thank you for that information mate. I have to admit that when I first got into knives I was all "full tang is the only way to go" ... then eventually realised that "not all full tangs are created equally". A badly skeletonized full tang can easily be worse than a quality rat tail if it has specific stress points. I guess the upside is that now I look at those knife making videos made by oldskool bowie makers and think "yeah, maybe they ARE as cool as they look"
@@TheWtfnonamez you should see the Glock knife destruction test of Mayor Fuglycool, and there's another on UA-cam with the hockeymask guy called Noss. The Glock knife has a very short tang with polymer molded onto it. A sledge hammer could not break it loose. Tangs don't tell the whole story.
It could have been just an inclusion in the metal or an air pocket. You're dead on about it being a bad idea to hit metal on metal when one of them is hardened steel. Bad idea.
Been watching a bunch of your videos recently, and today at the store the cashier said "Have a good day, sir" and I replied with "Safety first, my friends"

I have this knife, and I don't think I'd ever subject it to the stresses you put on it. It's good to know that if I ever needed to, it could perform. The chopping power if this knife is scary good... like an ax. Thanks for the vid Mayor!
You know what I wasn't even in the market for one of these I do want a smaller knife than a machete I don't have much need for a machete but like you showed digging a hole I don't want to carry a shovel either but I do want the ability to for latrine duty this it fits the bill just right! Thanks for the review!

Have you done a destruction test on either the Becker BK-7 or the TOPS Tahoma Field Knife (TFK)? Thanks for doing things to these knives that I would think of doing.
Great vids, the testing is awesome: measurements, materials, etc. all described. Most knife videos are either just chopping on some wood, or being intentionally destroyed in a way that no one would ever actually use the damn knife, and they hardly ever include Chickens in their wack-ass vids. Thank you for putting some beauty-marks on your BK9 in the name of learning. Love it. Peas. 🐓
Nice test - how does the knife feel as a throwing knife? Does it always end up blade first into the timber? I know it depends on the way you throw but some knives are garbage when you throw them due to the weight distribution. Thanks for the Video!
For me, this knife throws well, mainly because the BK9 is more back heavy. I tend to throw back heavy knives better than balanced or front heavy knives. Thanks for watching ! Mayor Fuglycool
another great test, I'm still hoping one day soon before I take a forest trip you'll test the M48 Ops Combat Fighter blade, you know so I don't have to. I have a good feeling about my blade, I'd be upsuperset so be out there using it breaks someway.
+NICOXXVII Well, currently I do have a couple of knifes that are in line to be tested. I will see if I can get time to review the M48 this year. Thanks for watching ! Mayor Fuglycool
This is on of my favourite knives, but to be honest, I was really expecting the blade to crack when you sat on it, due to its huge length. Glad it didn't :)
what a knife I've been looking for this type of knife for a while I'm impressed, I will be buying one of these shortly as a new subscribed viewer from the UK really enjoyed the video look forward to seeing more thanks for sharing
These large survival Bowie arent optimal for self defense. They're too heavy and dont penetrate very well. I would suggest a dagger or a smaller Bowie knife. Good ones are Cold Steel Tai Pan and Cold Steel OSS. Both are purpose made for killing. Also good for killing are pretty much any SOG fixed blade and Applegate-Fairbarn knives.
Well, ive seen footage from several knife attacks. There was one from Indonesia i think where a man was attacking a cop with a butcher knife. He just hacked and hacked him over and over again, probably good 20 times. The cop got severe flesh wounds all over him, but he lived. Now if the guy had a dagger or purpose made fighting knife the guy would have been dead with 5 stabs. Stab wounds are almost always more lethal, so knives that specialize in that like daggers are better in my opinion.
White Supremacy BK9 is almost overkill also. You can dismember people with that thing. I can also imagine what a good whack to the throat area would do. Its like a short machete with decent stabbing capabilities. Just not my personal best pick, but in right hands im sure its devastating.
+Gaming Goddess Ha, my chickens are super famous ! They starred in Curly Toes 3 . . . Raccoon Revenge. ;) I might have a Sog Flash 2 around here somewhere ! LoL Mayor Fuglycool
Good to know I can use it as a tree stand. Now you mentioned it being straight as an arrow, but how does it perform when fired from a compound bow? If it isn't accurate to at least fifty yards then I don't see how it can meet the needs of the average outdoorsman.
I know you are concerned about arrow usage, but let me tell you that it can be very dangerous to try it. I am sure that the BK9 would make a better spear though, much more effective than the compound bow idea. Thanks for watching ! :) Mayor Fuglycool
+Shane Shaffi The recon tanto is something that I have been looking at lately. Thanks for watching, and I will try to get more cold steel products later on in the year :) Mayor Fuglycool
Great vid man :) just got yourself another subscriber!!! One little thing, and I'm reaching here, you said the "safety first" package a few times too many throughout Must stress, great vid man
+joey8obby I am sorry that I say "safety first" many times, but I was informed by my legal advisor to mention it many times through my video. It has to do with legal liability, as if someone / persons tries to imitate my actions and tries to sue me as an influence regarding their actions. The knife tests are extremely dangerous, and I really do this stuff so you guys and gals don't have to ! Thanks for subbing and watching friend :) Mayor Fuglycool
The Mine Man seems to have lost some cohesion, " dammit Jim I'm a doctor not a carpenter" please get him or it to a wood doctor... WOW great to see another knife pass the Mayor challenge. I would definitely rely on this knife for my any need
11:36 that means we can make a ladder made out of knives... Also it is very usefull if you think about it, in survival if you need to grab fruits from a tree or hang a tend or shelter that is going to help a lot
I destroyed my SOG-Canopy by batting it in a piece of hardwood and wedging the handle against a wall and slamming the base of the blade for an exceptional piece of though wood. The canopy was a serious blade and i think its also a very good stress test
Late to this post, but had to say how Impressed I was by the quality of that steel. I’ve seen much more expensive blades fail after taking a quarter of the abuse you dished out.
crazy stuff! love it... would love to see some busse or mbb put on tests... actually you could go really crazy on those. I'm too poor to do those things with my babies lol
can you do your torture test on the cudeman hunting\survival knife. I got a few and want to know if they can be taken seriously, the quality of them looks and feels top notch
I had seen many reviews of the Ka-Bar Beckers knives. All seem to be good blades to own one. I only able to choose between bk7 and bk9 for the price difference of just 10usd but at the same time I am buying back the cold steel recon tanto cpm 3v which I regretted to have sold to my friend. So does the 7 inches and 9 inches of the beckers make of different quality other than length?
I love you test and videos. This is most honest review in this word. I always watch your videos before buy my knives. Fortunately, my choice didnt wrong, you know because I always watch your video before buy that. Thanks sir, please keep safe!
+ryan Ringling Yes, I do get requests to do the tests in the end to show how sharp the blade stayed throughout the test. I will try to incorporate that into my next tests. Thanks for watching friend ! Mayor Fuglycool
I picked up a BK9 a few days ago, nice to know it can take a beating. Love the knife a whole ton more after seeing this review LOL. Do you think its possible to incorporate more Tactical folders into your review? I saw the ZT one and would love to see more!
+Bear Yes, I am looking to review more and more advertised "tactical / hardcore" folding knives in my reviews. I do get a lot of criticism about the ZT failure, but in reality that blade could have slipped the lock, and cut the tendons on the fingers in a hardcore situation. Thanks for watching friend, and keep your eyes open for the BK20 review. It is coming soon. ;) Mayor Fuglycool
+Mayor Fuglycool no doubt about the criticism of the ZT Failure - i was probably one of them hahaha - but dooooood if there's some folders out there that passes - those gonna be some awesome folders to own. Thanks for the heads up on the BK20! will look forward to it!
Good evening Mayor I just bought a Kershaw Camp 10 its a solid performer for the price quality for being made over seas, could you do the Mayor test on it. I was sold on it after I watched the reviews.
My man out here just living life trying to break expensive knives so we don't waste our hard earned money. Keep up the good work!

Cool, Thanks!
LOVE THE THROWING!!!!! everytime bang on
Awesome video... purchased the Ontario SP1 because of your awesome review !
+J Rams Yes, the SP1 is a legend :)
+Mayor Fuglycool Thanks Mayor Fuglycool, I'm really looking forward to it.
Another awesome stress test review thanks a lot Mayor!
I bought one right away after I finished watching your vid. Great work, bro!!
Very good video and very good knife! Excelent test destruction, the BK9 its the ideal knife from the apocalyptic day.
+Hermes455 Glad you liked it ! Thanks for watching :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Great video. I really like that knife now gonna have to get me one at some point. Awesome video my friend. :)
+Plisken X51mm Yeah man this knife is totally awesome :)
Thanks for watching friend !
Mayor Fuglycool
Mayor Fuglycool
No problem man. :)
This is on of my favourite knives, but to be honest, I was really expecting the blade to crack when you sat on it, due to its huge length. Glad it didn't :)
+Vlad Popovici Yes, the blade did FLEX A LOT for it's size. It made me think twice, but it survived !
Mayor Fuglycool
Vlad Popovici
Yeah true, I will look and see what I can use to protect my neck. Thanks for the comments friend :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Next we have the chicken test
What do you think of the OKC Bushcraft Woodsman 9.5" 5160 steel knife? Its about the same size as the Ka-Bar BK9.
+TheAllSeeingEye I have not tried out the woodsman yet, but it should be a nice knife :)
Thanks for watching friend !
Mayor Fuglycool
Mayor Fuglycool I'm getting it and have a friend make some more ergonomic G-10 scales for me.
TheAllSeeingEye
Awesome :)
Mayor Fuglycool
we seen the BK2 and the BK9 both great videos .......but now we need to see the BK7
+specter Yes, the BK7 is coming later in the year :)
Mayor Fuglycool
As Meatloaf sang" I won't do that" but you hammered the crap out of that blade. If it can take all of that it should handle most without issues
what a knife I've been looking for this type of knife for a while I'm impressed, I will be buying one of these shortly as a new subscribed viewer from the UK really enjoyed the video look forward to seeing more thanks for sharing
+Norman Archer Thanks for watching friend :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Hi mayor,
now I have ordered the bk9. Thanks
greetings Mario
Have you tested the Ontario Rkat2 in 5160 steel or their Bushcraft Woodsman in 420H, which on their blade they describe it as 420SS ?
You earned a new subscriber. I had bought this knife a couple months ago. I haven't had the chance to use it yet. Definitely a well made beast.
Very nice!!! What Bowie knife or size do you recommend for maximum penetration? Looking for a knife I can keep in car for self defense.
Bk15
For somthing stabby that you can hide
Can you do an update video on knives you have used? I kinda miss your content bro
I don't think he does them anymore
This knife is amazing! I want to purchase on defiantly! Thank you mayor :)
+Bryan Reyes Yeah no problem ! I pulled this one from the collection, glad it survived !
Mayor Fuglycool
did you name your chicken blue eyes lol that's what i heard sorry if i misheard
Bryan Reyes
Yes, I have blue eyes and curly toes in this video :)
Mayor Fuglycool
The chickens will become more famous then you!
Just kidding.. awesome test.. I should give you my sog folder to test :3
Gaming Goddess
+Gaming Goddess Ha, my chickens are super famous ! They starred in Curly Toes 3 . . . Raccoon Revenge. ;)
I might have a Sog Flash 2 around here somewhere ! LoL
Mayor Fuglycool
Good to know I can use it as a tree stand. Now you mentioned it being straight as an arrow, but how does it perform when fired from a compound bow? If it isn't accurate to at least fifty yards then I don't see how it can meet the needs of the average outdoorsman.
I know you are concerned about arrow usage, but let me tell you that it can be very dangerous to try it.
I am sure that the BK9 would make a better spear though, much more effective than the compound bow idea.
Thanks for watching ! :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Just as I expected, mine came sharper than most of my folders and chops better than my hatchets. A DLC coat and g10 scales would make it perfect.
Thanks for watching friend, I am glad you loved it :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Perfection update- Stonewashed blade and linen micarta handles.
can you do a review on the kubun and recon tanto by cold steel please they are both super affordable thanks
+Shane Shaffi The recon tanto is something that I have been looking at lately. Thanks for watching, and I will try to get more cold steel products later on in the year :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Nice review. I have the bk9 and it is almost indestructable. You do a good job of testing.
Thanks ! Glad you really loved it ! :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Great vid man :) just got yourself another subscriber!!!
One little thing, and I'm reaching here, you said the "safety first" package a few times too many throughout
Must stress, great vid man
+joey8obby I am sorry that I say "safety first" many times, but I was informed by my legal advisor to mention it many times through my video. It has to do with legal liability, as if someone / persons tries to imitate my actions and tries to sue me as an influence regarding their actions. The knife tests are extremely dangerous, and I really do this stuff so you guys and gals don't have to !
Thanks for subbing and watching friend :)
Mayor Fuglycool
The Mine Man seems to have lost some cohesion, " dammit Jim I'm a doctor not a carpenter" please get him or it to a wood doctor... WOW great to see another knife pass the Mayor challenge. I would definitely rely on this knife for my any need
+Noah R. Yes, the mine man is down ! We can rebuild him :)
Thanks for watching !
Mayor Fuglycool
Great testing....Thank you Mayor!
+t b Yeah no problem ! I love the BK9 now :)
Mayor Fuglycool
Becker BK7 next please ! ! !
+Leaderilaos “LC33” Chaqal That is a very popular knife, and I will get around the the BK7 soon. Thanks for watching friend :)
Mayor Fuglycool
@@MayorFuglycools Still waiting buddy, I wanna buy one lol
@@richardvoisin6080 buy it anyway. its same as bk9, just shorter. LOVE mine. works absolutely fantastic in combination with Mora companion.
11:36 that means we can make a ladder made out of knives... Also it is very usefull if you think about it, in survival if you need to grab fruits from a tree or hang a tend or shelter that is going to help a lot
+Hikinett Yes my friend , you have good ideas :)
Thanks for watching !
Mayor Fuglycool
Good video. I've never seen a test using the knife to do pull ups. That was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.
thank you mr mayor for another real knife review of a pertinant knife !
man great vid, you really made me want this knife. just subscribed
I destroyed my SOG-Canopy by batting it in a piece of hardwood and wedging the handle against a wall and slamming the base of the blade for an exceptional piece of though wood. The canopy was a serious blade and i think its also a very good stress test
what a brutal and awesome test, thanks for that.
dig these hard test videos, def better than the schrade, great video again mate
+dseed norway Thanks for watching friend !
Mayor Fuglycool
Late to this post, but had to say how Impressed I was by the quality of that steel. I’ve seen much more expensive blades fail after taking a quarter of the abuse you dished out.
crazy stuff! love it... would love to see some busse or mbb put on tests... actually you could go really crazy on those. I'm too poor to do those things with my babies lol
+Salival Pine I will test Esse in the future ;)
Thanks for watching friend !
Mayor Fuglycool
can you do your torture test on the cudeman hunting\survival knife.
Just came to rewatch a classic. I hope you're well Mayor! I miss your content. ✌️
I'm still around, just a lot of work lately down south and west of Texas. I should have some more videos coming in late June though :)
Mayor Fuglycool
You should have done the "Blue Eyes chicken nugget challenge" LOL. J/k nice video dude
I love you test and videos.
This is most honest review in this word. I always watch your videos before buy my knives. Fortunately, my choice didnt wrong, you know because I always watch your video before buy that.
Thanks sir, please keep safe!
awesome tests would like to see initial sharpness test with paper and paracord then preform test again at end of all test to see edge retention.
+ryan Ringling Yes, I do get requests to do the tests in the end to show how sharp the blade stayed throughout the test. I will try to incorporate that into my next tests. Thanks for watching friend !
Mayor Fuglycool
Looks like a good solid blade.
good test
+Gun Enthusiast Rock solid :)
It is coming soon. ;)
Mayor Fuglycool
+Mayor Fuglycool no doubt about the criticism of the ZT Failure - i was probably one of them hahaha - but dooooood if there's some folders out there that passes - those gonna be some awesome folders to own. Thanks for the heads up on the BK20! will look forward to it!
*****
Oh yeah, I am wanting to test that BK20 pretty bad. It's a thick piece of steel :)
Mayor Fuglycool
My favorite knife. The KING.
Good evening Mayor I just bought a Kershaw Camp 10 its a solid performer for the price quality for being made over seas, could you do the Mayor test on it. I was sold on it after I watched the reviews.
The block test was great, if it does well no need for.a batonning test.
