So glad you were both able to quit your jobs & focus on your homestead. I have watched since you were both living & working from the school bus & the transformation is Incredible! Beautiful job guy’s!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Thank you so much!
@@ThisOffGridLife No, Thank you Katie for all your editing, videography & hard work!🙏
Puting in fence post ain't easy me and a friend did a 6 acre square back when we're young like you to. But in the end it's all with it for you and the animals safety! Thank for sharing keep up the good work!!!
Greg and Katie, You'll hate me for pointing this out, but have you tried using the weight of the tractor to drive the post with the bucket. I've driven railway lines using a backhoe, very successfully. Regards Robin....
Very impressed. This old fellas arms are hurting just watching Greg pound those posts in the ground 😮
GeoRom I am a retired Canadian from New Westminster who lives in Arcadia, CA, a suburb of Greater Los Angeles. Thanks for your videos; they make me home sick when I see your property.
A little late maybe but a suggestion. I used my end loader to drive t posts for my pasture. Beats the crap out of the old pipe driver and sledge hammer. C clamp a piece of 2x6 to the bottom of the bucket. One person hold the post level, the other very gently push the post in with the loader. It takes a deft touch, you have to make adjustments to the bucket as it lowers to keep it flat, but I’ve done hundreds that way.
I'm impressed by your wife always being happy, That's not normal in America
😅😅😅😅
I’m not always happy 😆 ups and downs like everyone else
Over many years I've fenced hundreds of acres of farm fencing and watching this I was about to pull my hair out but alas it wouldn't have accomplished anything so I just had to checkout. Good luck...you're gonna need it. Lol
You guys have to be the hardest working folks on YT!! For this fence project other off-griders would have gone to town and bought a mega dollar attachment for their giga dollar excavator, or maybe a dedicated fence-building machine. I really enjoy your videos.
I've driven my share of posts, and your gut will feel like you did 100 sit-ups. Watching from north central Indiana.
My dad always had me hold sledgehammer on the opposite side of the driven bolt or spike, thanks for spurring that memory
Bob Ross would call your mix up on the wire of your fence corner a “happy little accident”, now it’s just even more sturdy! 🙌🏻✨😂 Looks awesome guys, and I’m glad that you’re getting warmer temps up there! 😊❤
@ 7:14 Greg is wearing off on the animals as that cat is doing some sketchy tree climbing LOL
Boy, Greg is going to feel that in the morning!
Much accomplished in one day! And no one got hurt!!
I love you all no matter what you are doing. I'm from Georgia.
Just a quick comment:- Have you thought of using the bucket on the tractor to drive the poles into the ground? A lot easier and not nearly as tiring. Greg's arm muscles are going to be soar tomorrow.
I'm with you Katie, those posts won't last long. I'm happy to see you are using some metal posts. I guess they will keep the fence up for a few years. Pray for at least 5 before you will need to replace. I'm very happy you are being a responsible dog owner and building a fence. Hopefully they haven't been ruined already with the tracking instinct and dig holes to get out...good luck keeping them in the yard...
Love watching such a hard working young couple, lots of love and best wishes from Scotland 🏴
Guys great job on the fence, but as I was raised on a farm, we would have used the giant tree, and attached a post to the tree and not used the H-frame then set a post every 10 10 12 feet then used a come-along to stretch the wire, or even used the tractor stapling as we stretched it to a H-frame when one was required
Hi. I’m from Lyme Regis on the south coast of England. I enjoy watching your videos.they remind me of when I was a child in the fifties and sixties.we had a menagerie of animals such as a sow who had several litters , sheep, goats, hens rabbits, ducks and geese.good luck to both of you on your journey in life.
Boy does that look like hard work. You guys are crushing it as usual. Who thought it would be fun to watch people build a fence on a Friday night? SF Bay Area, California here.
Wish I could hug your necks. You give an old man great joy to watch you both do something that only a few people do and be successful.❤️❤️
You do what you gotta do to keep your animals safe..That real good..😊😊
Nice work on the fence! We're building a fence on our off grid 40 acres in Prineville, Oregon. Keep up the good work!
Good morning, how are you folks doing today?Hope everybody's having a wonderful Day Out there.Keep up the good work
Wow Greg, pounding those poles - full abbs and arms workout!! Well done!
Don't forget the lat's as well.
Hi I would try pressing the post in with the tractor and bucket load of dirt for weight. Great video lots of hard work.
Y’all are hard workers. I enjoy watching your channel. I live in Georgia USA. Don’t over do it and be safe. Thank you for sharing
If you want to stop all animals from getting in the electric the fence and it should be 7'high, You should use some wooden posts to get it up there, make sure you peel all the log posts.
Jason said good job on the fence! We always learn from our mistakes! Seems it makes us smarter for the next job! Awesome guys! ✌️🇨🇦💕
There were a couple of shots there that really showed how steep the mountain is where you've created the new road. Now I'm even more impressed than I already was! 😮 You guys are amazing, as always.
(Also, I loved seeing your kitty up so high in the tree! I can't believe the places they can get down from!)
You are going to love having that fence it’s a nice sense of security. You guys are such hard workers proud of you. Hello from Weare New Hampshire 👍

Been watching you two for over a year or more from Burlington, NC. Enjoy how you both work together and I'm sure there are days... (56yrs. and counting).
Great job! Watching from Maine….all off grid like you! Many, many inspirations from you for our homestead.
Some homesteaders use the tracter to pound the posts in the ground with the scoop.
Katie it would a great idea to add more cable to posts every four or five to give fence extra strength, because it will be a long fence, love to you both, all the way from southern China.
Hi from Christchurch New Zealand, so envious of your land. I've been watching your progress from day one you've come so far amazing.
I know it takes a lot of HARD work, but look at the results, AWESOME !!!! From Jackson, Tennessee (USA)
Hi Guys! This is Steve Burkett. I'm following you from Zanesville, Ohio.. I'm a longtime subscriber who really enjoys watching and rooting for you to overcome and complete the many tasks you encounter. Keep up the great work!
I enjoy watching a woman work so hard and keeping up with a hard working man. It is very unusual. I had a wife that did the same. How refreshing and inspiring.
Hey Katie, what you are missing is that you can't expect anything made of wood to be pounded on like that and not have them compress during the pounding. You only need to trim off the tops when you're finished and no one will ever know that they had been smashed with a sledge hammer. Even metal posts will deform if smacked on with a sledge hammer. So you've save tons of money and ended up with a great product and project.
Watching from California, USA. Greg, you should of let Katie have some of that fun you were having driving in those posts. LOL.
Eagle Point, Oregon here...Watched since you started.......Love you guys..
Greg needs to open up his own "MOUNTAIN SIDE GYM" and teach people how to get fit!!!!!

Im watching from England UK. That is going to be a huge fence, but as you said well worth it to protected your animals. Greg you did a great job on the road. Good team work with the posts x
We have been watching since you were living in the bus and love seeing how far you have come!! Watching from sunny southern California.
Hello, Im in California. Watching you guys from the beginning. But, I rarely comment. Love watching you build the homestead. Take care.
You two are doing a great job with the property. I watch your videos all the time. They are very entertaining. I used to have a farm with animals. I am watching you from Oklahoma City. thank you for the videos!
Hello from Chapel Hill, NC, USA! Absolutely love your place-Im a 78 yr. Old Gran now but have fond memories when I was fencing in my 10 acres for my goats, donkey, dogs etc! Wonderful life! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks, watching from Coffs Harbour,Australia . 18.7 Celsius, Autumn.👏🐕👍
I hope that when you string the fencing you're going to thread a galvanized wire at the top and bottom to keep animals from being able to push underneath or push over the fencing and get onto the property that way. What you might want to do also, is to string electric wire along it too so that they get shocked if they try to push past and over it to get in. Wild animals, if they have the idea that there is something on the otherside that they can get an easy meal they will spare no effort to get to that food. So these deterrents are a necessary tools to keep you animals safe and alive. I know that you know these things. Just had to throw my two cents worth in for you.
18 degrees c here in New Plymouth NZ in autumn. Some nights are 16! Enjoy spring.
Let go of the post driver at the last second so you don't get the reverb. Saves the hands.
Wow just watching y'all drive posts in the ground it makes me feel tired but y'all are still young and at my age now just pounding 5 posts I'd be sore for the next week lol, soon it will be all over with and you can sit back knowing that y'all did a good job. Larry from Md, thank you for letting us into your life.
fences are a constant maintenance thing, so bad posts aside (just get it up) then each year as you are doing the maintenance you can just replace posts as needed
Hi guys, gidday from Australia 🇦🇺
Can’t wait to see the finished result of the fence 😊
Watching from Randleman North Carolina USA. NASCAR Richard Petty country. Looking good on the homestead there!
You never see people do it that way on the corner post from building fences that is the best way to do it good job
That's a lot of fence line. Great job.
Hello from St Louis Missouri USA 🇺🇸
You might have to add a few culverts so the road you made doesn't wash out. Your fence looks great!
Hi there Greg and Katie, I've been enjoying your videos for over a year now from Thames New Zealand. I love it how you are moving into spring while we are enjoying autumn weather down here. After 20 years building our place we are finally using the F word - finish. Hugs Darshanasiddhi and Shraddharocani
Hello from Salt Lake City ! Fence building aint no walk in the park. Good job!
Looking good. Have you tried filling the tractor bucket with dirt and using the bucket to pound down the posts? Might save your arms a bit. 🥰
Standing on the top of a ladder driving fence posts....my kind of people. :)
33F (half a degree C)and snowing here in northern Idaho. Jealous of your weather.
and when you do replace posts, they can be metal or concrete for a permanent solution ( even if each year you only replace every 5th or 6th post, all replaced in a 5 year span ) or just replace as needed
She's got a point, I agree with her
Hello from Northern California ! Love watching your progress.
Every ladder since beginning of time in the US has sticker warnings… do not stand above this step… do not stand on top step😂😂😂😂 Greg’s balance is amazing! Also, no treatment on bottom of posts for moisture rot? This will be awesome to have such a huge fenced area for the animals! Will you have to electrify to keep bears, mt lions out from livestock? Or Aspen will do the trick? Great job as always. Enjoy the 🌞
Two things, one if you cut the top of the damaged post be sure and cut it on an angle to keep water off of them, two I don’t know if you hammered in the staples at the bottom of the post but you need to. Otherwise guys y’all are doing a great job over there, keep up the good work and keep safe.
Hi i am from Northern Ireland in the UK keep up the great work i can only live my dream through you guys👍
We're watching from Overgaard AZ. High up in the White Mountains. I have watched every one of your episodes and enjoy all your content. Love your goats

Hello from Budapest, Hungary!
It is so satisfying to finally use materials we store away for another day. Nothing better than a solid fence!. It's very fortunate you can pound those posts in.
Great job family, you’ve done a tremendous job there, looking great!
Fire up that hot tub!! That is brutal. You guys are the best team around. Happy Spring from beautiful Southern Oregon!!👍
You two are crushing it. Love seeing you use the the tractor that way. Enjoy the sun while you can ❤
A little jealous that you are already so warm outside that you can be out with less clothes. But soon the heat will come to Sweden too. ;)

Watching from Perth Western Australia. Looking great. Always great to see Greg's innovative techniques although sometimes I feel the need to pray for his safety lol.
Great working couple, love your videos and your happy dogs. DJ from Whidbey Island, WA. ❤
I admire your desire to live off grid. Blessing from Safety Harbor, Florida right outside of Clearwater. Enjoy your interaction with each other and from that your personalities expose themselves. Very Nice. Thanks for the work you do. 79 year old retired CPA
Use the bucket of the tractor to push the posts in next time. Do you need to tighten your tractor chains, just wondering. One last crazy idea, Electrify your fence using solar. Great job on the road you built. In Alberta were back to snow and -C again, enjoy yours while it lasts.
