I use these for my tent for a year or so, works great. I have a blue version. If you have a light camera you could put it on top. The parts come lose when you pull them out to far. Which is a bit annoying
I have used these poles for two trekkings. I've put in a camera thread in one so I have one monopod Plus: -light! -compact -nice grip & wrist strap -flicklock works smooth Cons: -tungsten tip isn't as hard as my leki's and less durable. So less grip. -to short tip beneeth the basket, 1. Hard to stick the pole in soft ground. It easily tips over. So not a stable monopod. -short tip beneeth the basket 2; When using a larger basket, the basket also hit the ground when using the pole in an angle. So less grip -one of the internal caps came loose. Glued it back Conclusion: Great, not perfect. If ultralight is important, get them. If grip is more important, try different brand.
Hi Mark! What’s the size of camera screw adapter are you using? The top of the pole’s screw hole is rather big. Is it 3/8 inch male thread to 1/4 inch male adapter? I am planning to buy this pole and would love to know the exact adapter sizing.
@@roughrosa sorry for the late response. I've drilled a 5.1mm hole in the aluminium cap and then made a 1/4-20 UNC thread. Thean used a 1/4" male-male adapter. And some loctite.
@@kjiratsiekoedel thanks for replying! Bought the pole, saw the massive hole, tried it with few adapters and pipe threads and failed. I was worried too that I would ruin the current hole if I opted for drilling... At the end, I just bought a camera clamp with 1/4 hole and clamp it to the tip of the pole and use it as a selfie stick. My initial idea was that with the existing hole I could attach a tripod and use the pole as extension too when I need such setup. Sometimes I hike solo, so I need many different angle setups to take pics/videos, minus the weight. Thanks again! I will consider the drilling option again.
Is there any trick to taking off the red cap? I've tried to remove the cap on mine but it's completely stuck to the point I feel like I'm going to break the pole if I try and turn it any harder.
@@HikingNerd Thanks, I've only just bought mine so maybe they use some kind of thread lock on the caps now. I'm just going to leave them attached for fear of breaking it.
Also very light - great video 💁
Nice review, and what about long term perspective?
Was wondering the same

Do you use these for the LanShan tent?
Thanks for the review HN.👍
You can probably use them as a monopod for a camera mount.
Good idea! I’ll have to try that out.
yeah if that strap thread is the correct diameter that would be great

Not that I’m aware of, I just turned it counter clockwise until it came off

@@HikingNerdis it worth buying this?
