Hahaha you had an ad idiots
Your heater vent take a t fitting put it on the end 6 inch piece of pvc pipe then a 90 elbow pointed down. Do both sides should help with that problem.
Time to go return to those big round rubbery things.
Tracks are too expensive to buy and maintain.
Just another frozen dinner lol
I would not want to eat off that plastic after it is Micd.
Need a chat with grandpa,Randy,Douglas,Chet and talk about the farm history, would be nice!
I agree, I’d love to see some photos too, from the beginning til now.
That would be a great video
Agreed, @kennethg.7418
Podcast! 🤘🏽👍🏽
That would be awesome!
This by far is one of the most enjoyable farming channels out here. Always a variety of content and everyone contributes enthusiasm with a bit of humor, especially Dougo, what a great guy all around. Thank you all for the enjoyment.
Fresh, never frozen as Chet pulls it out of the freezer. 😂
EXACTLY what I was going to add!
i find it funny he said its fresh never frozen as he pulls it out of the freezer
Duogo is from my generation. He wants to save everything he thinks you might be able to use with a little duck tape added!
Hey Chet one thing you could do is clean the the flame rod and igniter every year before you start your boilers just clean them with scottbrite pad they get dirty and won’t detect the flame or won’t ignite I work with industrial boilers and furnaces and it’s common problem
I just use a dollar bill to clean the flame sensor
Yep just clean the flame sensor with most anything. Scottbrite pad, sand paper, emery cloth and stick it back in. Guaranteed to work again.
Double check the gap on the igniter. I had a different boiler but same igniter and the directions say should be the thickness of a quarter
I had my flame sensor go out on my furnace last fall and I used some 220 sand paper and lightly sanded the sensor, put it back in and it is still working. I did order a replacement just in case, but haven’t needed it yet
Use a heat gun and fishing line to remove decals. Heat then run the fishing line behind the decal in a sawing motion while putting downward pressure on the line. It works like a charm
I used to work in a factory that had two 200,000 sq ft buildings. Each building had 20 large lpg powered air heaters up by the ceiling. each year we did a service on all of them cleaning flues and changing igniters and sensors. We tried not changing them if they were still working, invariably ended up changing nearly all of them every year. So, it was decided to change the lot at the start of each heating season, rather than endless trips up and down through the season in the manlift.
Those safety glasses are no joke. My brother-in-law was a pipeline welder and even with all of the protection he had to go to emergency multiple times with a spark the somehow got into his ear and damaged the eardrum and grit or something that got into his eye and had to be removed. We want you all to be around safe and healthy, you know.
Chet the boiler vent is in the top corner so when the wind is in the right direction it blows the exhaust into the intake on the top unit and causes the probes to go bad.
most manufactuters require 5' separation vertical . I would recommend moving the top vet to the same level as the lower vent and 2' apart to stop a lot of the problems with the north boiler. Love watching the whole crew.
Agree. My NTI is in the basement away from external wall....never a problem
yes cross contamination from the other exhaust
Next time take fine sand paper lightly to the flame sensor and put back in the flame sensor is getting exhaust gas on it so it can’t sense flames
Also move exhaust away from each other as a mech engineering i would not spec or allow the vents you have for you exact reason always use separate intake and exhaust pipe
Chet between Brody and Eric you have two men that are almost impossible to replace!!!! Chris was also a great fit….
A 42 minute long vid, you guys just made my day
The amount of money you have in equipment is mind boggling. Add to that the maintenance, labor overhead and all the other cost you have in doing business is enlightening. To think all of that is at the mercy of the weather makes me wonder why anyone would be a farmer. Having said that I for one and grateful you are. Thank you!
You now have Ray the safety director and Toby the security guard. What disciplinary action did Ray give Erik for disobeying the rule for eye protection? Chet please tell me that is a safety ring. Also very informative episode and got a good laugh on Brodys truck upgrade
Just clean the flame sensor with steel wool and it works like new again. You can also clean the igniter and close the gap up a bit and they work great again
Love when Rae visits the farm. She listens to anyone, good on Erik for training her well. ❤
Dougo walking forlornly across in the background as BS and Chet service the bogie wheel bearings...made me smile. As for the hydraulic oil on the tracks Chet, substitute it for straight dish washing detergent to slide those idlers in. Does the same job but none of the nasty side effects on the track or idler material.
Those bare bogey wheels brought back a memory from my days working at John Deere. On some of first track machines, Deere was experiencing very early failures of the rubber coming off, but the supplier was not wanting to cover the warrantee. I theorized that the steel was dirty when they went to bond the rubber to it. And, sure enough, that was what caused the failures.
That was the most enjoyable 42 minutes!!!
Love watching you guys 😮 and I'm glad you got the bogey wheels off
Living somewhere it never freezes or snows, winter seems like an awful amount of work.
Love that she wore the glasses!!! Labs are AWESOME!!!
YOU GUYS ARE ALL RIGHT THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG
Team Larson ! Big hello to everyone ! Enjoyed watching !
Farm History would be awesome. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us 😊
I see Dougo walking around in the background a lot. He has mastered the art of looking busy doing nothing. Welcome to the club.
Always a pleasure watching, you all are simply amazing
On your heaters....You can emery cloth those sensors instead of replacing them. Also, always check your drain trap to make sure it's draining. also make sure your exhaust is not making steam and plugging your intake tube.
Love the longer format. We get to see more in depth detail. Wonderful. Keep up the good work.
Hey Dougo, Chet,Eric and Brody , have you guys heard from Chris ? That guy was a awesome addition to Larson farms ! The video of him driving "Little Bob" in the shed to remove all the mud y'all pulled out of the tracks was so funny 😂
Love the longer video and we need a full family talk on how they started and work up to now
Great video guys! Brody’s truck is looking awesome
Another great video, keep it up guys. Haven’t seen Toby around lately, hope he’s all good 😊
Great video. All the laughter among you gents will keep you young. We love it.
Lights on Brody’s truck look awesome! 💪👍🏼
Great Video, Gotta love Brody's attention to detail, keep up the Good work!
Would love to see an updated equipment tour of everything you currently use.
Thanks for the video you guys are a lot of fun to watch
Absolutely incredible, only minor struggle bus issues at the Larson Farms.
It ain't cheap farming.
I hope the Larson's had a highly profitable 2023.
Thwy certainly deserve it.
Thanks for another great video Chet.
It was interesting with lots of variety.
Nice work on getting the boiler furnace fixed and running again Chet. Getting the ice off outside helped. Glad you had that lift. Good idea to keep extra parts like you do. Good idea.
Brody’s lights on his truck look real nice. Thanks for helping him with the decal work. Nice.
Getting those boggy wheels off was not easy. But you and Brody got it done. Now Randy can take them to get recovered. Good work everyone.
Those boggy wheel bearings on the case IH tractor are tough to replace. But Eric did a great job with a bit of Chet’s help. Nice work Eric.
You vacuum was full full full. Oh my.
Need to empty it every once in a while. Good job Dougo.
Dead mice. Not for me. Sorry. Throw it away please.
About it I guess. Busy video. Thanks for everything Chet. You all take care and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
It’s always interesting as to what y’all get involved with, I enjoy the videos
Hello from Sweden. More long videos like this! 👍🏻 keep up the good work you all!
Great video. I set my planter up similar to how you’re doing it. Make sure you go into the top of your planter tank coming from saddle tanks or it will back feed from back to front. I mounted my hyd pump up front and just ran a 3/4 inch line back to the planter because I didn’t want to mess with valves
Thanks again for your time making the video watching from Reno NV
Awesome video. Great job guys
We use anti seize on our mounting flanges on wheels for boat trailers especially the ones we use in saltwater. They don’t become stuck on anymore.
Wonderful video. I had a good time watching it.
thank you
I have the same problem with the igniter, I clean them off with steel wool. Does the job.
I’m really enjoying the longer videos.
Hang the control box on the front of the scissor lift it will help you control a better when traveling
Chet Dougo Eric Broodie that was great enjoyed it thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video.
Great content keep warm
All the best from ENGLAND
Another great video. Thanks 👍❤️
If you take a wire wheel with a dremel and clean them up, it will save you a lot of money on flame sensors and igniters. I work on tankless water heaters, and they have the same issues, so I always clean them when I'm doing a service on one.
Enjoyed watching the video.
Dawn dish soap to lubricate rubber components as oils may cause break down and swelling of the rubber.
If the igniter sparks it's ok. Every year just sand the flame rod (or sensor you say) and it will detect the flame better. The flame rod gives off a small amount of current when heated and is very sensitive for safety reasons. The built up coating on the rod can insulate the heat from the rod.
We had an old central vac unit mounted just inside our shop door. Vacuum cabs inside orboutside the shop. Had an extended hose on it. One of the best ideas my father ever had.
In 9 below zero?
you should be able to clean the flame sensor
Thanks 👍
Your bogey wheels remind me of steer tires on forklifts, of which I have changed a many of. Some on the larger lifts were so heavy, they had to be picked up mechanically to get on the press. To support the capacity of the lift, and act as counterweights I believe, fun times. You three act like The Three Stooges more all the time. Keep up the good work😉
Brody, nice work on the truck, looks sick
Keep steel wool up there and when you pull out either of those and clean with the steel wool and put back in. I’ve cleaned the flame sensors several times with steel wool and rubbing alcohol on the weekend and not replaced them. Actually still on the original ones since 2018 when we put the on demand unit in.
Love Rsy and her " Ray Bands"😊
Poor Chris is now being blamed for everything 😂😂
Chat you can take steel wool and lightly clean those sensors off and reuse them. They just get dirty and then it does not read the right resistance.
Chet, may I suggest using a paint pen to write the date on your new ‘Wall of Shame’ pry bar. That way years from now you won’t have to guess when that happened. 👍
I run 50 weight in all our case bogeys and have way less problems. The newer style seals on the quadtracks are so much better than the older style. If u keep the wheels kleen u will probaly never change a bearing or seal. But here in michigan the heavy ground plays hell on them. Good luck guys keep up the great work.
I am glad you have time this winter to add "ornaments" to the wall of shame!
Hey guys love the content y'all put out I'd just like to say I would highly recommend y'all getting some harnesses when y'all go up in the scissor lift. I work in the equipment rental business and you ain't got to be that high to fall out and mess yourself up. I'd like to see y'all around for awhile. Keep up the good work
D & S in West point Nebraska is the bogie repair place. It's a neat place
I'd seen you guys use the smaller Knipex snap ring pliers, they also make jumbo ones, believe they are the J4's for internal and A4 for external rings. I always grab them over the locking snap ring type pliers
A furnace man, in the know here in Idaho, showed me that very part and every year, now, like he did, I buff it up real good with steel wool... nary a problem since... hope it helps ... they're typically easy enough to get out and put back... for those who don't know... this part extends out into the flame of one of the burner tubes to let the computer know what's up .. carbon builds up over time... ( like always grows enough carbon by the coldest day of the year !)
Since I started watching these guys I believe 42 minutes have got to be the longest video to date
Great video Chet!
I doubt I could change a wheel on a bicycle, but for some reason I enjoy spending hours watching you working on machines I can’t even identify. Thanks.
Thanks for the great video.
I believe that is called at thermocouple for the flame sensor.
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHET AND DOUGO 😊
Chet the engineer inventor, I am impressed
D&S tire in West Point. They do good work. You should have the hose for your 2 tracks anyway.
Tract vehicles appear to cost a lot on maintenance of Bogey Wheels. Love your videos.
I used 2 inch stainless steel pipe under the tractor and then flew hose on the rest of the plumbing, worked great and newer had a leak
You could put something like plastic wrap on the track and put the oil on that to slide the bogie wheel on.
Loved this one!
Sometimes those igniters just neet the prongs bent alittle closer together and they work juat fine...beautiful heater setup.
Hey Eric,
Try this sometime, as I use to travel highways in Michigan with my male Chessie ridin' n' sittin' shotgun, "with" sunglasses on 🤗
Never a dull moment with the looks and stares ya' got 👍
Sharp looking truck brody
When I was in high school I worked for Safeway, our coffee/staff room was on a second floor. I had a stuffed mouse that looked 100% legit. I thought it would be funny to place it on the top step. One of our cashiers came face to face with it and you could hear her scream across the whole store. Needless to say it didn’t end good for anybody.😮
Hey Chet unless things have changed, you don't want to touch the ignitor with your hands as the oils in your fingers and hand will cause premature failure !!
You should mount your pump close to your tanks. I mounted mine in the back keep getting air and would build up pressure.
Gives new meaning to the word "contact."
Very nice work brother 🙏
To get emblems off easy next time, use fishing line or the plastic straps they put on heavy packages with some heat. 3m also makes a real nice product to get the excess glue residue off.
Chett, could you make video about your crop care? It would be interesting
Great long video guys.❤ Like a long video!!!
Brody they make black overlay Ram emblems. It goes right over that one. I did my entire gmc 1500 elevation.
Chet find the healing shelf to put old parts on and they heal well sitting on shelf.
I was working at a remote site guys would put old items on shelf after removing them, instead of through them away.
So someone would trap
