Thanks for the detailed spectrum analysis. I just got three volcas and the mix and a steep learning curve. Those buttons were on my 'later list' for all the reasons you describe. I agree the manual is lacking but it's almost like they're telling us to go fiddle with it and figure it out. You've helped with that. Cheers!
Appreciate the depth andf focus of this video. Found it very helpful, as I've just got a Mix, Sample, FM and Modular. Really grateful for you, many thanks.
Very good in-depth analysis! I bought one of these for use in a mobile performance set up useing cassette decks and LoFi samplers! Today’s smaller consumer synths all use the 3.5 jacks and I got tired of the spaghetti and adapters trying to use a full size mixer! I hope to use the volca as a sub mixer specifically for the smaller synths!
Wow very informative, thanks. I actually like the functionality of those high/low knobs more now. Great to know they’re sweetener EQ’s instead of filters. Don’t know if I’ll ever dive into the Volca lineup but I’m definitely interested.
Well done, thanks for this. I have volca keys, beats and mix, I noticed that when I turn the knob back and forth, it seems that I'm sweeping a smooth notch filter rather than a passband. I can't say that this sounds "bad", but I would like to have the ability to bypass the tone control, at least.
I think it's the same as the analouge isolator on the Volca sample. That has two knobs though, one for bass and one for treble. I like to dial them in to a setting I like for the track and leave it there.

Would've loved to see the same video on the compressor and the phase of the send options. They are equally, if not more, quirky!
Yeah same

what's a Lodi sampler? searched on google and all I got were tiny bottles of beer and fragrances ("samplers")
@@MusicalArmageddon it was a typo
I meant LoFi
@@franciscomolina8970 Ah... I thought it might've been a synth/sampler brand I hadn't heard of... sorry man 😅

What frequencies the Width knob operates? All the spectrum or only the higher part?
They called it an isolator
