I bought this watch and have been so enamored by it. It is the most comfortable watch I own and I love the retro styling. What a great value! You review is spot on.

Thanks for the feedback! The watch is a gem, and in some ways better than the inspiration it pays tribute to😋

I own this one, bloody good value little watch. Looks classy as f@$: and reliable movement inside. No complaints as an owner of this piece. Looks classic and elegant on my 7.5” wrist.

A jubilee bracelet is supposed to have a fair bit of play to conform to your wrist. It also needs to have enough gap between the links that they don't easily contact each other. That bracelet looks pretty good to me, but with all bracelets the quality is in the details, the little radius on every edge that makes a good bracelet buttery smooth is usually absent on cheap ones. To get perfect comfort out of most Ali bracelets I usually need to spend a couple hours smoothing, buffing, and then re-brushing the inside. It's worth the effort though, it makes them so much more comfortable.

I do too, but it leaves marks on where I worked on and more often than not, it changes the profile of the edges. One slip, I could scratch the finish quite badly too. It is a thing that's hard to perfect. I don't have the skills and the eyesight of a jeweler. 😅

@@bfair6284 A lot of it comes down to your strategy. My basic approach is to remove the bracelet from the watch and then remove the clasp from the 2 sections of bracelet. I like to wrap a section of bracelet around a wooden stick (wrapped with paper towel), inside out, and then secure the ends together with copper wire. If the edges are sharp I'll use 600 grit paper to smooth them. Then I use a Dremel tool with a felt disk and a stick of polishing compound to work over the whole surface, focusing on any sharp edges. I take my time with this step and try to be very thorough. The final step is to use red scotch brite pad to give the whole surface a linear brushing to keep the polished surface from sticking to my wrist. After I remove it from the stick, if there are any scratches on the polished flanks I'll clean them up with the polishing wheel.

@@Peter-z5f Thanks for sharing. Yeah, I do dismantle all the parts down to the piece I work on, less of a chance of an accident. I often tape up areas not of interest to protect them from scratches too. I guess it comes down to me lacking the powered tools and abrasives (paste and cloth wheels), I only got sandpapers of different grits. And patience is another big part. If I have the luxury to work in a well setup facility, spending a couple of hours would do wonders. 😁 Thanks again for sharing. Cheers, mate!

It's a Murphy ripoff. Period. Lousy painted markers

Incorrect, it’s actually a “rip off” to use your words, of the Seiko TicTAC…
