- My European mountain biking trip has made it to Scotland and the famous Tweed Valley. I am lucky enough to get a guided trip around the trails starting in Innerleithen from Jamie better know as Street Pigeon mtb.

Yes!!! Just watching this over a morning coffee. Loving it man! Thanks so much for coming over. The vid is great!
Was a great day. Thanks for taking a small UA-camr like me out for a ride. I know you normally ride with the big guns.😊
@@bestdayevermtb2 😆 You are a big gun buddy 👌
Man McTrailRider rides well!
Also, way to leave the poor Joe hanging for a fist bump at 3:09
Fantastic seeing you in Scotland!!! Great video as always.👌🤙🤙🤙😃
What a great crew of guys nice riding, Cheers 🍻 🇦🇺
Turned out to be a great group of guys. Was really great to see my friend Neil after so many years.
Such a good day : )
Isn’t it incredible that wherever you go around the world the tracks change so much and there is so much variety!
You are not wrong. That is what makes it so interesting. You have a few nice trails near you.😊
Great video. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Scotland. 👍🏻
I really enjoyed my time in Scotland.
2 of my favourite bloggers, top video guy's! that's killed the first half hour of my working day 👍
Jamie said people don't mind long videos so thought I would give it a try. Hope you weren't late for work.😀
I was already at work 😂
Awesome video Lance it’s great to see you finally found some gents to go out riding with and the same type of riding as you is well. One of the best things of in this video you get to ride in forestry and you don’t have to worry about chairlift is well. Keep up the amazing videos you must be almost about time you flew back to New Zealand
Very much my normal style of riding these days. Love the e bike rides and, most of all, love riding with cool people. Was a bit disappointed I didn't get to ride with more people on the trip.
freaking awesome! Merida seriously underrated bike - was perfectly suited to that kind of a day out! great vid lance
Was genuinely a really great bike. I felt completely comfortable on it.
Great video again. Keeping up with young lads, congrats! 👍
Was an epic day.😊
I'm just stoked you refer to me as young : )
Looking at you guys from 67, you are still very young kiddo! 😅
@@jeanmarc_in_Hudson 😁😁😁
Great vid of a fantastic day Lance! So good to catch up with you. The Curse is certainly real! All the best, Neil.
Hope you are OK after your tumble. I was so happy to see you after all these years. You have certainly got some skills on the bike. Would love to do it again one day.
@@bestdayevermtb2 yeah totally fine after the spill - I'm used to crashing! Brilliant to see you again mate. I hope to return to NZ in a few years - will give you a shout and you can teach me how to do the big jumps over there!
@@insideout1351 definitely come stay with us in NZ. Promise the curse won't be an issue.
Glad you enjoyed my local tracks .
Absolutely loved them.😊
Hi, great video and been enjoying watching your trip, my only criticism is I think you should have spent a full day at golfie and a full day at Innerleithen and even a day at Glentress
That would have been nice. Jamie was only free the one day, so that was one issue. The bike was 100 pounds a day, so not cheap, and my wife was with me on holiday, so I didn't want to leave her alone every day. Could definitely have done a lot more in Scotland, though.
Edinburgh Castle 😂😂😂😂 You rode 3 of my favourite trails at the Golfie... NYNY, Wardell Way and the amazing Right Side Clyde, not sure how your pal stacked it at the bottom of it though? 🤔 great video, of a superb place to ride.
Turns out that wasn't Edinburgh castle 😂 but was still an awesome day.
Another Brilliant video Lance and loved the intro and your sence of Humur ! Sorry but only a slight moan but Mr Pigeon always seem to do the same trails which are great dont get me wrong but are reasonably flat ,Long and tiring and there is soo much better on the Hill and some of the trails rival even some of the Steep stuff you get in the Alps ....Maybe its where i love it up there so much and super keen for newbies to ride the best thats on offer .
One thing I do love about these rides is not having to worry about where to go. I really enjoyed the trails, but Neil did mention to me there was some seriously steep stuff in there. Maybe you could show me some next time.
@@bestdayevermtb2 I'd be more than Happy to show you ! Reckon you will come over to Europe again anytime soon ? I'd love to go to NZ but couldn't handle the Flight ....Fear and Boredom! My Mrs has been a couple of times and loves it over there .
@@daveandmerlin We will be back but not next year. Must admit I hate the flight. I worked out I was effectively awake for 48hrs on the return give or take a few moments of awkward sleep.
Hi Lance, Just seen you are in Europe. I’m in Peak District on door step of Macc Forest. i have a spare Trek Rail and a bungalow. If you fancy a day or two down here then let me know. Be great to ride some of our local trails.
Thank you for your kind offer. I would definitely have taken you up on the offer. I am just back in NZ this week. The same issue happened on my South Island caravan trip. I got offers after the videos came out. I did try to reach out in advance via UA-cam and Instagram, but not everyone sees those things. Never mind, maybe next time. Bit gutted as would have been very keen.
Am on the doorstep of Macclesfield forest too!
@@bestdayevermtb2 no worries. If over again give us a shout. Hope you had a great time. Videos are great.
I was expecting at least one quip about the frugal Scottish riding in Eco!
I just thought I was fitter than these guys. Turned out they were all in ecco. None of that rubbish from me.😊
Great vid.....jamie is a great rider
I had watched his videos but was genuinely surprised at how good a rider he was in real life. The gopro effect is massive. Without blowing my own trumpet, people are often surprised when they actually ride with me compared to what they see in the videos.
@@bestdayevermtb2The GoPro effect never does anything or anyone justice 🤣
Thanks for taking us along on your summer mtb/wife holiday, does this mean your heading home soon.
Back in NZ now but still have some videos to come out.
great video and im sure Katy Winton is in New Zealand at the moment
That explains why she wasn't on the ride.😂 Met Katy once in Rotorua, and she seemed the nicest person.
@@bestdayevermtb2 she has a great personality
Weather didn’t look too bad when you were there. Used to ride there every other weekend. There’s so many trails around thereI. miss it. Not so much the weather. 😅
The weather turned out pretty good that day. The forcast was for rain but it never really came.
Excellent video mate - have a sub :). Don’t suppose you have a gpx of the route do you?
Sorry, I'm not good at that sort of thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie did.
@@bestdayevermtb2Found it on Strava - thanks man 👍
how long are you in Europe for? Do you have time to visit La Fenasosa bike park and Valencia? We can look after you. We're also visiting NZ in Jan - hoping to get to Rotorua
Sadly am now back in NZ. Am keen to ride in Spain maybe on a future trip. I have been to Valencia backpacking as a young man. Was cool or should I say really hot.😀
Looks great …Will you get time to go to wales while you are over there? Did some great rides around Snowdonia while I was there last month 😊
Did make it to DYFI. Had an epic day.😊
Great video really enjoyed it and great riding- those trails are steep . Are the Scottish trails very different to NZ ?
We do have similar trails in NZ. The thing is, what is a NZ trail? We are lucky to have so much variety. We have sand, clay, volcanic, rock and loamy trails. We have native bush, commercial forests, high alpine environments. We don't have everything but we have a lot. There is no such thing as a typical NZ trail.
@@bestdayevermtb2 Sounds amazing . Will have to head over one day. Enjoy the rest of your trip
🔥
The UK. trails have certainly vastly improved since I lived there, but that was a while back. Disappointed you didn’t try and emulate Lewis’ efforts……… next vid perhaps?
Gopro never does those things justice. But that was the maddest thing I had ever seen.
@@bestdayevermtb2 It did look a wee bit insane. Not sure Lewis values his life as much as the rest of us.
Some good tracks there, if someone told you that was NZ you'd almost believe it
Same amount of water as Auckland anyway.😂
Not one Wheelie!! C'mon man 😅
How was the Merida then? 🙃
It was an awesome bike. It was easily the best e bike I hired on the trip.
AND not a gondala in sight. Real different bit of dirt for you to pedal on
Very different feel to Italy and France but I loved it.
