I ordered one yesterday, and I was wondering when the version 1 came out and version 2. I didn't realise that version 2 had been out for this long. Maybe a v3 on its way. Subscribed, thank you
Just ordered mine, don't even have any other audio equipment yet but this gizmo might get me started, though I might use it more for field recording and maybe try to build a small radio telescope that I could attach it or my SDR too, since I already do astrophotography as a hobby having some space sounds to go with it would be interesting
@@UNSCPILOT Nice! I haven't done much field recording with mine yet, but I'd like to soon. I've mostly recorded in my house, and in my work's machine room. The sounds you capture will definitely go well with astrophotography images.
great video my friend. any update on whether you still use this thing. it looks like a super interesting device but I'm concerned I'll use it for a couple days and place it on a shelf
Thanks! I use the Ether occasionally. It's great for capturing unique sounds. I get more mileage out of it when putting the captured sounds in a sampler.
I had to hold the Ether really close to sections of the Korg Minilogue which had electronics near the surface, like the screen or the LEDs. Placing it by the knobs didn't produce sound. You should try scanning really close to your devices to where you are almost touching. Then move it around slowly allover your monitor including the back side. Also play around with the Amplification wheel(top wheel) on the Ether. You will need to turn that up in quiet environments.
wow, so radical...............................fascinating to think of all the emf surrounding us......................
Thank you! Being surrounded by EMF is quite fascinating.
If we could only see all the waves surrounding us - the sky would be black.......it's truly amazing to see & hear evidence of all that.
@@willswitchcraft It would be both amazing, and frightening. ;)
absolutely...............
Pretty good, I can listen for hours
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks! I believe the V1 came out February 2019. I purchased mine shortly after it was announced, and surprisingly received the V2.
@@nealwho thank you
Greetings from Wales 🏴
@@jarrahdrum You're welcome.
ACE! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the feedback!
"Any feedback is welcome" hmmm, guessing that's the usuable words there
I had the same idea and didn't know how this would sound : thanks for sharing, now I want a Soma Ether !
You'll definitely get unique sounds if you get the Soma Ether. Thanks for the feedback!

@@nealwho A busy city street is a cornucopia of sounds for an ETHER.
Nice, thx 🎼
Thank you!
IDK if the monologue has an ext in but it could be interesting to feed the ether back into that
That's a good idea! The monologue does have an input, so I'll have to try that. Thanks!
That does give me the idea to plug my Soma Ether into my Microfreak synthesizer in vocoder mode, that could be a great bit of fun!

Hey, how are you receiving the sound from the Korg? When I hold it above my midi controller or monitors I dont get anything.
