- Lyra 8 synth arrived to my studio a week ago and since then I've played it in combination with some of my other synths and effects. I'm specially happy when it teams with my TC Electronic M3000 and this video shows a live jam with the addition of my two beloved Indigos (B & C), which help to turn the track a bit more melodic at 3:35
Featuring:
Soma Lyra 8 (drones and lead)
Access Virus Indigo (pads)
Access Indigo Redback (filtered noises)

long live the #lyra8 i adore mine, over 30 years with electronics- nothing touches the lyra for this type of material, it just falls out of the box and the meditation is strong
Cool ,time for a Lyra 16 I think , would be amazing , blessed be
Wow! The cinematic potential for the Lyra 8 is astounding! If you're interested in other Lyra 8 Dark Ambient tunes then I highly recommend Tarek Mansur's Fate of Destruction inspired by the upcoming Terminator Dark Fate movie.
nice, using the Lyra as a companion to the access synth , is just so magical
An impressive and beautiful taming of the "White Angel" ...
Beautiful!
Great work!!
Very cool Ambient trip! Thank you for this! A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Absolutely superb! Enjoyed this video a lot.
Thank you very much :)
MEGA ! tx mr...really emotyon..
dang... would love to play around with one of these sometime... lovely song!
i really enjoyed listening to this. it's like a little mindfullness meditation in itself! nice one!
Thanks for your comment Lee.
Brilliant! Epic!
Ran, I keep coming back to this to listen to it over and over…. a really deep hypnotic track.
Thanks so much for your comment Eric ^^
Wow, this is fantastic. I can imagine trying to make sounds like that on other equipment (perhaps a modular synth would be the best choice), but it would be a lot of work. The Lyra 8 is tricky to tame, but it gives you the immediacy of results and thus it inspires. That's what I love about it. I've had mine just over a month and I feel I've barely scratched the surface...
one of the best thanks
Thanks a lot, mate
Fantastic........because of you, i have just purchased a Lyra 8 ... woohoo Thanks for motivation!!
Stellar!!
Beautiful yes very good! I love my Lyra!
Thanks a lot, mate.
so cool!
I’m the 909th subscriber. Awesome video.
absolutely amazing, perfect dark ambient industrial, I like it!
Thanks a lot!
@@RanKirlianI was very interested. I'm considering buying Soma Lyra. I have Access Virus, Evolver could also work :-)
Creepy. Scary as hell. Great one!
entrancing!
Sounds great!!
Thanks a lot
Very deep!
Nice!
nice stuff !
Nice scape. Great instrument.
Sounds amazing!!!!! Mine just arrived this past Sat.,Ive been experimenting with it by using it with my guitar pedals , other synths, my. Moog Grandmother, Korg Minilogue, JU-06, mother 32/DFAM, Volca Kick, Division Department 01/IV drum voice, 12U modular setup, and either on its own or with other effects, it’s incredible. I really wish I could get the Pulsar-23, but between the wait, and not working right now, doesn’t look possible anytime soon. Awesome video!!!!!!
Thanks for your comment Clementine, and congrats for this new arrival: Lyra-8 is an amazingly creative tool in different ways, it's just a matter to find the one that fits better our musical needs. Great setup, btw and yes, Pulsar-23 sounds extremely nice, I indeed would love to have one in my studio too :)
Amazing
Thanks!
Great !
Awesome soundscape! Perfect for a film 🎥
Thanks a lot Decima1
@@RanKirlian No problem!
I love my Lyra-8, it's one of the most used things in my studio!
Cool
You are great the machine is a machine it’s your feeling makeing those notes not everyone can sound like you keep up the good work
*With this Lyra-8, you can REMIX the Sound of the old 1950s SciFi Movies ;)*
"Abandon hope, all ye who enter here." As your spaceship is inexorably sucked into a black hole and spaghettified, these may well be the last sounds you will hear.
👌👌👌
Great job! I've tried various synths ... soft synths mostly. Never gotten along very well with 'em though because the work flow seems to depend more on geekiness than musicianship and intuition. I dunno ... maybe this is the one that could break that chain.
Yes I have the same problem, nob twiddling is so much more immediate and intuitive than menu diving and multi-button combinations.
*sigh*
*opens new music store tab*
here we go again...
Love how it sounds! Would it be possible to share the Lyra patch?
As it's an analog synth where all parameters are accesible via knobs and switches, the best way to get yours to sound like this is by mimic the control panel from the video. Be aware, however, that every Lyra out there may sound a bit different from each other and that here a heavy amount of external reverb here. This is, by far, the most enjoyable part of this synth :)
@@RanKirlian yeah I have been trying it with several reverbs and it sounds fantastic!
Hola. Sería interesante darle un LYRA a un mono y comprobar si los resultados creativos difieren. (Obviamente, dejándole unos meses para que se acostumbre al instrumento) 🤔🔬🐒.
Microwave XT!
mostly this synth people buying it cause you don't need to know bout music you just pushing buttons and knobs..etc.that is why i can't find a descent demo around, till now lovely sounds here.. man!
thanks a lot for your comment mate ;)
Did you add any external reverb?
Sure. TC Electronic M3000 and later also a low volume cloned track with Waves TrueVerb or maybe Valhalla Supermassive, I can’t remember which one.
hey bubba, can you pipe up the crew?

Why don't people name their song? or session? we don't need more ambient dark turd titles, we need names, we cant be a culture where everything is named " ambient chill 2021" we got to respect the art we make, seriously. good music btw
You don't need to communicate every reaction or thought you have.
I want to like the Lyra 8, but it seems so limited. I have 20 other synthesizers that can do simplistic echoey drones. I wish you'd turn those upper knobs as you play it, get something more versatile and alive going. All demos of Lyra 8 sound the same to me.
I think the possibilites of Lyra-8 are infinte (within the boundaries of a mono synth) because every oscillator pair affects the others and the total output can also affect the final sound. I believe none of your 20 synths can do that and you'll need a huge modular to get the same 8 voice monster machine. So 'limited' may not be the right term, however, infinite is just as unworkable, unrepeatable and uncontrollable. And it will most likely sound like all other videos, just like a random generator sounds the same even though every generator plays something different.
Steven Streight I’m working to find a repeated sound and so far I haven’t been able to. This this is a monster synth for exploration.
I have that indigo too and it s a mess opening it to change the battery.....must get rid of it
