Thanks Donny and Brew2L! You guys got to do that again!
I will say one best items ALL foxbody owners should have from Anderson Ford is the cam swap magnet tool! With their tool you don't have to remove the intake and saves time as well as a set of intake gaskets on your cam swap! Glad I have mine!
Did u tap into heads ?
@@fadedvet no need, they just go down the pushrod hole and the magnet geabs the lifter and then just tighten down the nut to hold the lifter up in its bore, the cam then can slide out!
Great video thanks for making it.
Awesome show!
I love cam discussions. It's the heart of the motor and largely dictates your car's personality.
I have the B31 on my GT, and just picked up an N412 for my LX.
I'm definitely a fan of the Anderson cams.
I’m glad I had Donny B hold me one because they sold out too. Lol
@@BREW2LFOXBODY you'll probably have yours in before I get my engine put together and in the car.
I'm busy doing little things to my GT before FTO.
The new engine is a 308 with the AFR 185 Enforcer heads and a Systemax intake. We might be real close in spec, I'll be looking for your take on the 412. I may add nitrous though, looking to party 😅
I won’t have mine in until after FTO. I’ve still got a ton of stuff to get done before then.
I also like to party 🤣👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY oop, spoiler alert! 🤣
Would you sell the old one b31
Everything Anderson is killer for Foxbodys. Love the power pipes too
I loved messing with cam profiles in my old school "dyno desktop" program. I had over 30 cam profiles that I sourced from crane, comp, trickflow and the letter cams. I would plug in and contemplate hp and tq numbers for hours.
Running n51hr in my 11:1 306 , ported rpm heads 3.73 and gforce t5 , no issues besides slight bucking in first going thru parking lots but it sure pulls like a freight train! 🤙
🔥🔥
Damn I missed another live. Lol. Can't get rite. Haha. Anyhow awesome content brother
Lol can’t get right 🤣🤣👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I tries and tries
Good info! I still love my E cam for the chop-a-d-chop! My t-bird is a very similar setup to the carbon Fox
Which e cam? I want the chop!!
I’m running a b451 in a 10.7:1 351w with afr 205s with a 4r70w and 3.73 gear. It’s rowdy as hell and snappy!
Man youtube just aint keepin you in my notes!!!!! I missed this!!!!
Where can I buy the Anderson B21 cam at? I've looked all over the place online and everyone is sold out, and or what else would sound good for my truck? And not have to upgrade anything else, I'm wanting to put it in my 89 F150 4x4 with the 5.0
This was a good interview/ discussion like to see one on Anderson cam options for 351w.
Im running an N-81 in my 408W.
Have a N41 cam to install with long tube 1 3/4" and a Holley Systemax intake. Sounds like they know their Ford Small Blocks!
Nice video 👌🏼…. What would you recommend for a 363 stroker with 10lbs of boost??? I have a stage 2 tfs just sitting in the garage but I was looking at the Anderson b451 curious on what you think thanks ….
I love the N41 in my setup. Very true about the cam under 2000 RPM. I'm working on trying to tune out as much "surge" as possible. Lots of experimentation on low-load timing maps. Rest of my engine is a stock 302 bottom end, TFS 11R 53cc heads, N41, and GT40 intake.
What you push hp, tq #? Similar set up but with Trickflow 170cc and intake. Dyno 494rwhp and 435.rwtq
@yeh nah Vortech V3
@@israelnieves2817 I haven't dyno'd my setup yet. I'm N/A with around 10.5:1 compression at 5200ft above sea level. The power curve is strong into 6000rpm.
What is the best cam for a stock 5.0 5 speed with exhaust and 3.73s?
What distributor gear is needed for a anderson n91 cam sbf 347
I have the N41 cam with gt40p and Edelbrock intake. Anyone Know How many dagrees on timing??
I have a 90 5.0 I want to get a b21 cam so do I need roller rockers and do I have to grind my valve cover
Just out of curiosity he said the N51hr will work for stock bottom end if degreed right up to 93... Why not 94/95?
I have a 363 dart block 88mm turbo and c4 transmission, with 3.55 gears I barely make it to the end of quarter Mile screening 7500, I'm running afr 195cc heads 11.2 compression, im using lanati voodoo cam the one from little black and blue on engine power, I'd like an Anderson cam but have no idea what's good for boost like 20 to 30 lbs
Donny mentioned that turbo specific cam that they're working on. You may want to call and ask about it. I'm sure there will be some patience required though.
Can you give me some background on the N-61 cam...? Is it a good cruise cam or...?
I have a 92 GT full manual 4r70w 2800 converter 4.10s all gutted 1 kirkey seat all adjustable suspension sub frames and a untouched 5.0 I was going to do gt40 swap with n41 but now I thinking n51 hmmmm I need help lol
the cult cam hah. great video
my B451 Cam is a beast!!
What cam is close to e303? That's what iam running
331 and 347 recommendations would have been nice. Also, power brakes/vacuum.
🔔😎 off subject, kinda
Watched your old video about chasing sensor problems, idle, temp sensors, etc.
The Fox OBD1 KOEO/KOER self diagnostic procedure will solve MOST of the "chasing your tail" replacing sensors .
Do a general video about it. No extensive procedural walk through needed, just an informational advisory.
I find that almost everybody is clueless that it exists in the stock ECUs. As far as I know, ALL Ford OBD1 systems have it. Even my 90 TownCar had it.
Sure will save a lot of frustration, headaches, and wasted $$$$.
JMO😎😎
Can I use a b21 cam in a AOD?
That's what I won from foxcast B31 🐎🔧🚗🙌💪🇺🇸👊
What is Rick Anderson doing these days? I remember his red notch from back in the day with them I think dirt tires on the back. Car looked bad ass!
If I recall he is working with Holly.
Hello, how are you? I follow you from the State of Kuwait. There are a lot of your clips. I have benefited from them. I would like to ask you. I have a Fox Body 363 Stroker with a turbocharger. The question is what is the best Anderson cam shaft that I can use?Thank you for what you give us🤍
I just bought some afr185. What would y'all recommend for those with stock bottom end? I like the sound of the b21
That’s a good question for Donny. Maybe he’ll check the comments and give his opinion
That’s going to be tough with the 2.02 valve and 20 degree inline head. Really would be best with a .030 over bore and a larger reliefs as you approach the edge of the piston.
Which 185s? The renegades or the Enforcers? They both share the same 2.02 intake valves, and 1.60 exhaust valves, but the Enforcers have a smaller exhaust port, so you can easily over cam those. You'd be safest with large cut pistons like Leech mentioned. You can degree your cam but it won't be what you want when it's all said and done because you'll put it so far out of range just to clear the pistons.
Remember, the B21 is to be paired with 1.7 rockers, so you'd have the same result as the B31 with 1.6s. Unless you're looking at running the B21 with 1.6s to tone it down a notch. I'm sure Donny B can help you there since he'll have more specifics on the ramp rates and the lobes, but I'd say you're going to have PTV clearance issues on stock pistons with the AFR heads. With Trick Flows you'd be fine, but the steeper angle of the AFR 185s needs relief cuts. It's the major reason why AFR released the 165 heads. They use a smaller intake valve size and will clear stock pistons with most cams.
I need to find a cam for an old school weiand 174 blower. Nobody discusses those any more! Lol
Are the b21 and b31 the same??
i’m gonna order a N41 cam and hearing that he said 3.73 gears is helpful because i wanted to get gears anyway
Glad the video was able to help. As of right now I think he has a couple more in stock.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY going to be a little while until i order it, but i have decided on the n41 cam with gt40p heads gt40 intake and some scorpion rockers
@@patrickhandlin9481 I think that will work great
@@patrickhandlin9481 I had this exact combo on my car, except with 4.10s. It pulls hard and sounds great at idle, you'll like it!
@@patrickhandlin9481 do you have to upgrade the valve springs or even get a stall?
Hey guys AOD owner here.
Stock 306 short block
Afr 165 heads. Non smog legal
Trick flow track heat manifold
They mentioned n412 but that was for stock heads. Any help will be great
351w roller- 10.5:1 , 750 Holley dp, TKO 500, 3.55. What cam do you think I should go with?
It depends on your heads. How many cfm do they flow? Match your cam to the heads.
@@philipbohlinger4150 yes sir, my heads are great up to about 5,000. Small C5AE with some work done to them. 49cc chambers, on stock F4TE bottom end. Now it has a stock HO roller cam. Shorty headers
Sounds good! Pretty much throw as much cam as you want! I'm also doing a 351/408 . I'm having a helluva time finding heads.
Floyd.
49 cc 260 V8 heads with those tiny chambers, tiny valves, and tiny ports, are horrible compared to E7s, and you can compare from there. The 49cc peanut chamber heads barely flow 130 cfm intake.
You need at least C9OE= GT40s(almost identical) with work done.
I stopped porting in '99. The price was not reasonable compared to box aluminums.
JMO.🤔
@@floydmarseeii4007 if your heads only pull to about 5k rpm you're going to want a street oriented cam. I'm not 100% sure how directly the 302 based cams translate to the 351, but you'd likely have your dollars go further with a set of GT40 or Promaxx heads on a stock cam, than an aggressive cam that pulls to 6200 with heads that die at 5k. Your parts would be mismatched. If you can afford a simple head upgrade AND a new cam, I think you'll be very surprised at the unlocked power of both working properly together.
BREW2L, If you get a chance would you please ask Donny B if he could get me a startup tune for my NIB AFM PMS. The last time I called them I got some ***hole on the phone who was just rude and not willing to help me.
You missed the #1 ? Why are they $100.00 more than everyone else?
When is the live stream with nothing but cam talk coming up? Just a reminder 😉
🤔……. Soon maybe after I can get some days off

What is a good rear gear set for the B-cam?🦊
3.55 to 4.10 works well.
What about B cam On3 turbo? I need to change my gear.
Nah a 3.27 or 3.31 gear will work pretty good as well. Cruising at low speed will somewhat suffer do to the taller gear ratio though.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Thanks man! I’m trying to get my old 92 GT boosted and setup as well as I can doing it all myself in my little shack garage.lol. Thanks as always for the information and content!!
I think I’m gonna split the difference and go with the 3.73’s because I will be daily driving it as well! 🦊
I got 86 fox body stock flat top pistons so I went with tw 170s and stage one cam. Was running a stock cam with the 170s for a while. And I’m 4.10s with t5. Honestly if your in situation like me, save for pistons that will clear a bigger cam. It’s better money spent these dang flat tops don’t give you any choice lmao. Really didn’t noticed much a difference between stock ho and tfs1 cam. Sounds good at idle nice little chop. But not much of a gain. Maybe a bit more top end. It’s definitely a downside for us 86 owners
Why not just use a valve relief cutting tool. Cheap, effective, don't have to pull pistons out.
BTW. IF you're going to buy rings anyway, use full circle rings. Worth every extra penny.
@7 hp immediately, and double that when miles accumulate and especially using ANY boost. No ring gaps = no blow by.👍👍😎
Now why did you have to say that? Thats the cam i got with a TF top end kit for my 88, i hope your wrong!
@@brandonknight7240 hey I actually have to admit I was wrong. I found my engine has some cylinder wall scoring on couple cylinders. So she is tired. Most people I talk to with the stage 1 really like that cam. Nice street manners but pulls great up top without sacrificing low end torque. I probably felt the loss of power from my worn out engine and thought that cam didn't do much. I think you will be happy with that cam choice. 👍
They need to get some cams in stock so I can buy a n91.
Nice video! What about the N71 or N91? What are they good for?
