Introducing Patria Nemo Container - a heavy mortar system with high mobility
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 сер 2017
- Patria Nemo Container includes all the equipment required by a mortar unit in a single package. The Nemo Container is delivered with everything that a mortar unit needs: protection for the crew, the weapon and ammunition. The container has its own power unit and air conditioning. In addition to an access hatch, the container has an escape hatch.
The customer can select NBC (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical) filtration systems, as well as the desired ballistic protection, made either of steel plates or ceramic armour. High-durability steel plating 8 to 10mm thick adds around three tons to the weight of the container. The container has space for one hundred mortar bombs. It has a crew of three: two loaders and a gunner, who also acts as the commander of the unit. The key benefit of the Patria Nemo Container is its easy mobility, which is unique to mortar systems of this caliber.
The container can be easily moved into a firing position on a high-speed boat, a ship or on a truck; the container can also fire from any of these carriers and naturally also from the ground. For example, the container’s versatile mobility enables coastal jaeger platoons to relocate this independent firing unit during a mission. This is also an excellent solution for protecting military bases. The container can also be purchased as a separate unit without the weapon system, in which case the customer can make cost-effective use of its existing Nemo equipment.
Patria Nemo Container, showcased for the first time at the IDEX 2017, has completed successfully its first test firings both on truck platform as well as a stand-alone on land.

how to turn any container ship into a swimming artillery fortress
Ewalds Eiland pirate problem around somalia or at the straits of indonesia... Hmmm
So if you load a cargo Ship with Theese ..uhmmm. Thats one hell of a gun boat . ???

That'll show the Iranians not to mess with us.
@@AngelSamael The Iranians have tens of thousands of small speed boats that are armed or loaded with explosives, a lot of them unmanned. They will fuck up ships like that.
Angel Samael : you messed with the Iranians,
they “carefully” removed your $2million drone from the sky.
My! , .......... what a short memory you have Keyboard Warrior .
There is actually a company in Estonia, Baltic Workboats, that is designing in partnership with a bunch of other countries, like USA, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and so on. A unmanned ship, that can carry either 4 containers or 4 small boats. It has it's own defense system, in a form a canon or 4 rockets, but I can imagen that you can use this on that to do some real good damage to ports, and near water sites. Or even on the sea, to underwater drones or ships.
Looks like that unit has a good air conditioning system. Very comfortable for Patria's desert country clients.
I'm sure it does. With all the electronics in there you gotta keep it cool.
Like every other unit, but then the desert breaks that unit.
Is it dual zone?
Large bulky mortar, perfect target for a kamikaze drone.
Shoot and scoot time is impressive. Thats what you need these days alright. The ability to fire a bomb and drive off instantly is priceless.
Was thinking of a doomsday container. I'm thinking this will fit the bill.
What the hell is the point in showing me this advertisement , when you clearly know I am not allowed to buy one?
This is kind of like one of those perscription drug commercials. Ask your secretary of defense if Patria NEMO CONTAINER is right for you.
Did somebody to force you to watch this..?

How much for one unit + shipping? I need one...
What took so long, the old legacy trailer hitch howitzers are a pain in the azzzzzz, if this hold up technically and digitally, its game over. A true queen of battle.
A howitzer is not a mortar.
I give this kudos for having an actual working model rather than some cgi bs
I really like the idea of that thing being a transportable bunker/pillbox.
Finally something new in the armament market.
Coolest RV I've ever seen
Good job, you've made every flatbed truck in the AO into a target.
Heck , it was a long time coming
Exactly.... I was thinking the exact same thing... Is it artillery or a flower... I don't know sir what should we do... Level the area I suppose even if it has one of them red crosses on it.
They already where. In the Sahara they even are priority targets because the attackers loot the vehicles when they are abandoned.

You guys should have the mortar tube recessed into the container so you can stack other containers on top of it
Just stack em sideways ;P

Smal detail to take into account: the container is totally unprotected. So it's interesting only in the middle of a large base to protect its surroundings.
@@pandaDotDragon you bring in an ACE CVE dig a hole, drop it in. Presto. Base artillery.
Think of container ships going through high piracy areas. Hire a crew of ex mortarmen or artillerymen or even tankers....
No more pirate problem.
A palletized version firing 40-60 anti-tank and anti-personnel loitering munitions would bring a massive amount of firepower to the battlefield in a mobile package.
Very interesting. Take on or two to a base for defence, unload them. Job done.

soo you still have to manualy load the gun ?
And it seems that the gun has to be in a certain position to load, which in my opinion is a great waste of time.
Reload still using manual ??
Does anyone know what the max effective distance this thing can fire out to?
It's a 120mm mortar, so max 8km
@@mostlymessingabout thank you.
I need a new trailer for camping now...
i think the container ship owners who pass next to Somalia would be interested in this :D
I mean i guess its cool. But they already have the stryker with the 120mm
noname305 its me at 10x the cost
I am just curious why nobody makes 155mm mortar systems to match the 155mm artillery Howitzers??
@@tatumergo3931 What do you mean "angle of fire"??? Can you explain??
@@tatumergo3931 You have good points. But I am thinking like even the Soviet 240mm mortar which has a range of 10 km. So you can lob mortars with 10 km distance. So why can't a 155mm with same range be practical?
How is it better solution than 105MM gun system mounted on medium trucks or 4x4 vehicles.
Its able to lob a 120mm shell that can either take out infantry or armor that may be approaching your position from a distance and mostly from cover.
Likely cheaper would be my guess.
This actually is brilliant
A container home/house turned tactical. Needs an autoloader though.
Yes, but is it air conditioned inside?
Yes.
I've always thought the US Army and Marines should consider investing in something like this on a smaller scale that could fit onto the back of a JLTV or replace the turret on an M2 Bradley.
Nemo or amos (the two barrel version) could probably be intalled on Bradley or stryker. I've seen Amos intalled in both Swedis CV IFV and Finnish Patria Amv 8x8 and there is a video of nemo on 8x8 and smaller 6x6 from Patria.
Looking at UA-cam search results, probably not JLTV though even for NEMO.
Does it take glock mags?
The question is will the container withstand a mortar blast on it?
Probably...
If they integrate CIWS then hell yea.
All fear the boom-boom box.
So what caliber is the cannon, no wait artillery piece?....mortar? .........
THE BIG GUN.
120mm
Put Amos on it. I guess Archer is too heavy?
Awesome! It would be cooler with a fully retractable turrent, and an autoseleclor for rounds... And a remote control from a playstation)
And a good surround sound.
I want one 🤐
👍👍👍
Surely this is a better a better option than building "the wall"???
Can you air drop it?
Why not?
Put this on a container ship and also load on those containerized remote weapon systems.
Cool as hell, but remember, this is just replacing three will trained guys in a pickup with a hitch.
Proud to be a finn when I'm watching this. Were are pretty good about anything that has something to do with warfare.
winter war was pretty based
And again, the best quality and from Finland.
Perfect Zombie proof container
The shipping container of doom.
Hahahaha.. 🙂
sorry non military guy here can someone in the know tell me why you would ever take the gun off the truck?
Because this can be used on any truck that can move normal cargo containers. In other words, you can make any civilian truck/ship etc. to use these with the fraction of the cost to compared mounting the gun on army vehicle turret.
what a easy target

Arma 3 dlc trailer?
Why is this better than a tank?
Jim Gaul well it’s totally different from a tank. It’s essentially a mobile mortar nest. Tanks do completely different work.
It’s also massively cheaper than any tank, LAV or Self-Propelled Artillery piece.
Just asking for a friend..... scoot scoot.
Does it cook pizza?

Great for battle against loose armies with a mud hut. Major radar detectable movements and target in any other scenario.
Yeah, it looks like a truck on your radar screen. Because no army in the world uses trucks for anything, like transportation, right?

Looks like a 40ft target.
Possibly a FOB asset? I see pros and cons with this. I'll share this with few former mortar guys I know and hear their take on this.
@@zr9266 if it has range more then 10km+ i think it would be very useful but it is to big and it can be easly destroyed if they are not careful, so in my opinion they should make it a lot smaller, but if you have cruise missles and ballistic missles and artillery that can shoot from much further away why would you risk going closer specially if you are dealing with modern army, not like isis and simular morons.
this is my OPINION you should ask people who been in war and have used this kind of weapons.
@@fpsserbia6570 Opinions are welcomed. I'm just waiting to hear back from any mortar guys. I was light infantry and recon so I'm not too familiar with these types of weapons.
@@zr9266 replay me when you got answer from them.
i have been in class about military weaponry in university of mechanical engineering, next semestar i have choose again, it is called "construction of weapons systems", we didn t learn a lot about mortairs but they are useful this is how i know, my country was in war against NATO, USA and Albania so they have used a lot of mortairs and one of the major told as that most succes they had with 120mm of course :) it is the biggest, but 82mm and 60mm are to ineffective because here ground is to soft and shell just sink into the ground so that is why they used 120mm even if it sink it will make much bigger blast then smaller shells, adn there is a lot of mountains so it is good to have mortairs.
this container mortair would be useful if enemy don t have some modern missle system or modern plains, drons,... because with all that you can t defend it very good, 1 more reason is that here forest are dense and there is a lot of mountains so you can easly eliminated places where it isnt so you could track it very easly.
This is for every military system : USE IT FOR WHAT IS DESIGNE FOR, i heard a lot complaiment of the infantry about engineers how they don t know to designe weapon because they don t use it i don t know if it is the same with infantry in USA military but we designe it with knowledge we have and with money they give us so it is not up to enginners to designe what ever they want.
i like missles, that is what every country need if they want to be able to protect themself, because if you are able to bombard and destroy whole city none country would attack you without thinking that "you are not that crazy" to do that. xD
this is my opinion: if you are going to war at least go for victory,
ua-cam.com/video/4FGJJt5XYio/v-deo.html HELL YEA 😃✌
@@fpsserbia6570 So one of my buddies said it's easy to target, will require flat ground to fire, and unless there's multiple mortar vehicles together to do rapid fire for effect then it's too slow. He said if it doesn't leave base then it's a reasonable weapon system
Transport your office room to the battlefield
I feel like it’s not as mobile as it needs to be. It’s very large and most likely hard to maneuver in tight spaces.
True, putting it on a wheeled vehicle does make it limited in use, but i don't think its purpose is for direct infantry mortar support on the ckose frontline.
It has been fitted on coastal patrol boats, 6x6/8x8 APC's, certain tanks that have suitable turret ring size.. It's mobile enough depending of the platform.
So.... Which system is more mobile?
We jusr need a triple barrel and we can call it battletruck
One could feet a slbm in 53 and 60 foot container.
I need this. Under the 2nd amendment this should be legal

Why are we not funding this?
Because it's not American?
I had this big stupid Grin on my face the entire time.
Being a turtle master, This looks far too appealing to be true.
Nice and big target, how much?
War is money.
Make the gun reloadable from any direction the turret is facing. And then find a way to take the entire gun assembly and have an emerging turret for that is recessed in the container for. Dubious minded clients you'll have a hard winner of a product.
The Shipping Container Of Death
Transportable By Maersk Corporation
....its a gun howitzer not a mortar ...
If they upped the armarment to something larger than an 80mm mortar it'd be pretty good, but since its a mortar you can just stick a podnos in the bed of a truck and bam, its the same outcome
120 mm
It's 120mm. And if that's not enough, same company makes twin barreled AMOS.
I don’t see the point of dropping it off the truck? If your idea is to shoot and then scoot, dropping the trailer off the truck only to have to haul it back up onto the trailer seems like a completely unnecessary step. Now if this was a prefabricated fortified pill box this would make sense. You could have a fighting position with machine guns and motors and soldiers loaded up at a base and these trucks could scoop them up as need and dropped off at the front. Better yet, eliminate the soldiers and automate them or at least man them with robots(possibly partner up with Boston dynamics). This way you got sealed, manned, portable bunkers ready to go at the push of a button. You could even air drop them, let themselves dig into the ground on impact and become actual bunkers!
i will take 5-6 of this
Should donate a couple to.Ukraine and use footage for marketing adds... they could probably write it off as a charity donation for tax purposes
Another beggar, although this container would be an ideal target for the Lancet drone because it is large, bulky and inactive, and given the range of the mine of this mortar, it claims to be the most useless weapon.😂😂😂

Mobile DUCK
This is super slow. A Toyota with a bolt-on has faster firing rate.
Legalised murder :)
Stupid idea. It’s a big target for the incoming fire. One rpg, mortar or artillery shell would smoke such a large system which can be observed from distance.
I don't get how you think that's different from any large vehicle that militaries around the world uses. The whole point of this kind of a mortar system is that it can maneuver quickly from a place to another, while being far away from enemy positions. This system uses a 120mm cannon, which can reach up to 8km distances, so it's not like the container would be close to the enemy.
Wow, all you UA-cam-comment experts are already turning down this product made by a company that has years of experience in the military industry.
Over engineering a solution to a problem that's never existed. Good old Howitzer is all you need, pulled by man and beasts since 1664
Good luck getting that howitzer ready to fire and packed up in the time this takes. By the time the howitzer crew has unhitched the gun, this has already left the firing position.
sure because warfare is the same as it was in 1664
EMP blast would make it worth 2 and 1/2 turds

*Chinese people. Lost everything 😂
Not a practical weapon system tanks do a better job and can shoot while moving plus a better system was made that you can fit six systems on the same truck and they are drop off and forget auto systems
Draken I still think with all the other and better tech we already have in action this system is still impractical for our needs but might be a great seller with our allies
the nemo systems has also been fitted to bunch vehicles like patria amv 8x8 and patria 6x6 but theres no reason to keep the mobile vehicles sitting on its place when used in camp defence when you can use a container like this
