    I was quite surprised for it to output 96,2% of sRGB coverage for a TN panel. I was also blown away by the contrast ratio. From my experience, the TN had always the worst glow right behind the IPS and then the VA with the best black levels. However, is the 540Hz monitor really necessary? It should be put to a test by some pros, whether they feel any difference or not. 240Hz is usually the sweet spot. 360-390Hz is already the maximum I would ever go with.

    • @TotallydubbedHD

      Likewise I was pleasantly surprised. As for if it's necessary, depends how much you value total system latency and clarity. But I agree, for most 240hz will more than suffice, as mentioned in my verdict.

    The vidéo is nice made. I also have this monitor, and i m not very happy with the input lag. You said it is the fastest gaming Monitor you ve tested, but on the first slide you showed that many monitor are doing better than this one regarding the input lag. And i felt it , when i play on it i felt this input lag more higher that the Alien Dell 27 240hz i got. On the Alien the monitor feel more smooth with a very low input lag. I can react to thing that i can not on the Asus one. I think i will send it back. To be honest the grey to grey result are less important that the input lag.

    • @TotallydubbedHD
      @TotallydubbedHD  5 місяців тому

      1.1ms input lag is ridiculously low. As mentioned, the graph might throw you off, because it's got a scale from 0ms up to 1.1ms. All those tested monitors are phenomenal when it comes to input lag, no issues whatsoever for hardcore gaming.
      Maybe what you're feeling is something else?

    540Hz is cool and all, we should always aim to better it. However, at this time, the marginal improvements in motion clarity come at such a high cost, both in terms of price (Monitor + absurdly high-performance PC) and huge image quality compromises (TN, 1080p). It's really _really_ hard to justify for almost anyone... Also, those 480Hz 1440p OLEDs are just around the corner.

      Asus one also has noticably less input lag and also better response time. The zowie 540hz averages out at even above 2ms response time and you ideally want to stay under 1,85ms for 540hz gaming to avoid any ghosting. You can definitely notice that due to the response time the Zowie one definitely has less motion clarity and more ghosting overall than the Asus and the Asus is way cheaper even tho still 900 bucks😂

    Obviously this monitor is for e sports pros. The cost for a 24 inch 1080p monitor is too much for even the average gamer. I currently own a sub 100 dollar 24 inch monitor with 180Hz refresh rate and that's obviously a huge value win. My next monitor grail is going to be 32 inch 1440p monitor with 240 Hz or higher. I'm just waiting for the price to get absurdly low just like how I got my 24 inch monitor.

      @@yarincool1237I just wanted to trigger you haha. But honestly, it's because you'll be using a higher scaling (unless you're crazy). At which point, the pixels she the viewing experience doesn't change that much vs say 1440p.
      Of course, things will look a little sharper, especially for gaming or media consumption, but you'll have diminishing returns.

      @@TotallydubbedHD of course you'll have diminishing returns, but you also have diminishing returns from going from 144-240hz but it's still feels better, about the scaling idk I mostly want the 4k for gaming and don't really care even to use 200% scaling, of course if I needed to do professional work or something my opinion would probably be different but for gaming it just isn't really a big thought at least for me, the pixelation on my Q24G2 still bothers me,it's an amazing monitor it's just that I usually need more then most people in everything in life lol, and I'm sad there are no 24-25 inch 4k high refresh personally, but I'm not surprised either as I know even 27" 1440p is enough for most people and I'm just "special" I guess.

    What's the point of such a high refresh rate when you can only have such high fps in eSports games and pretty much nothing else? I still think that 144Hz is ideal because it's much easier to get 144 fps even in many AAA games, also paying so much for a TN panel in 2024 is ridiculous in my opinion. You can get a 1440P OLED at 27" for a similar amount of money. I just think it's wasteful to buy a monitor just for one specific type of games.
