- The episode "i Remember You" storyboarded by Rebecca and Cole Sanchez is almost half songs. Two of AT's favorite characters (after Finn and Jake of course) are Marceline and The Ice King, but until now, they haven't had much to do with each other. Now you'll know why.
The instrument you hear in this demo is an Omnichord, a kind of electronic autoharp that was made by the Suzuki Instrument Corporation in the 80s. Everyone liked the sound of it so much, that it is Rebecca's actual recording on the soundtrack. The off-key notes were accidents of running out of power-it took a lot of tries to make it happen on cue. - Фільми й анімація

The pens that Rebecca uses are called Pentel Arts Stylo pens. You can buy them on Amazon for about 5 bucks. Everybody at AT uses them. They have a flexible nylon tip that acts like a fountain pen--so the line width can vary and be more expressive. They are a MUST for any artist's sketchbook.
Thanks for the recommendations sir ( ^ u ^ ) I'm trying to improve on my drawings but I keep getting hit with the ol' artist block. I'm also not the best at coloring but I want to get better.

Rebecca majored in animation at the School for Visual Arts in NYC. The way things work at AT (and pretty much every animated series) is the writers and storyboard artists create the episode up to a roughly animated version. Production artists draw finished props and backgrounds, and it is sent to Rough Draft in Korea to be finished. There will still be songs in AT, and I DO think I taught Rebecca a thing or two but she is really way more awesomely talented than I was or will ever be.

I really need to get around watching Steven Universe. God damn I miss the kind of episodes were Rebecca Sugar had an influence. You can clearly see the difference.

even the ending is devastating
Seeing BMO alone 1000 years later made me really sad because of how much he loved telling that story about his best friends.
When I saw this episode and ice king started to sing oh bubblegum I immediately wanted to cry for him. Such short line yet I understood that even him in all his madness still knows that something isn't right. The memories and life he lost will bear down upon him forever even within his seemingly whimsical insanity. That made me cry and it was all explained in Rebecca's short song. Wow.
Its even more sad when you realize hes obseased with bubblegum in particular because she reminds him the most of Betty. Being smart and independant, as well as taking an interest in science and magic.

Rebecca looks at this channel frequently, but you have to remember that by the time they air a show, its been 8 months since she wrote the song.
Other writers are doing songs for AT episodes. there was just one in "The Great Bird Man" written by Jesse Moynihan. And I am told by People Who Know that some of the new story boarders have musical backgrounds.
When she says the line "hey princess did you get my text/with the picture of my awesome gunshow?" I can just hear her smiling. It's really adorable. :3
The people at AT make storyboards and backgrounds and send them to Korea to a place called Rough Draft. There, they animate the outlines by hand, then send them bacj=k for approval. These are somewhat anachronistically called "pencil tests" When approved the drawing are scanned and painted digitally.

Rebecca is such a genius. She really knows how to tap into the audience's feelings. Especially with her music, evident in "Singles" as well. She has become one of my greatest inspirations in the time that I've followed her work. I aspire to be half as talented as she is! I wish I could meet Rebecca in person to let her know exactly how she has effected me as both a viewer and an artist. I wish her continuing success!
Simon wants his princess who he doesn't realize is actually Betty and not a 'real princess'... He just remembers that he wants his princess lover back without realizing he had a real fiance (who he called princess)

I want to say "Thank you." You really seem to care a lot for Rebecca Sugar and her fan base. The fact that you pay attention and reply to all of her fans comments and questions is pretty great. Uploading these videos, always giving us insight on her work and whereabouts regarding her career. Very informative and helpful. I'm aware of how many fan bases can be difficult. So thank you for you understanding and consideration.

One of the best moments in a cartoon ever!! The music is just beautiful. Honestly, I have a friend with a mother with Alzheimer and after watching this episode that friend told me that they could relate. It was something else.
I dont know anyone else who can portray sadness in a song as beautifully as she does, its so well done I cannot believe it.

I love this episode. I've watched it about ten times now. It's so good! You folks who are behind everything in the AT story telling department are doing such an incredible job and I hope that you all know that! Who would have thought a 'kids show' could carry such a powerful message, but still manages to keep that innocent and light-hearted quality?
I hope that Ms. Rebecca knows that without here these characters wouldn't be as popular and beloved as they are!!!!

this episode was really really good! The songs, the backstory and history between characters. pretty emotional too. jeez this show can be great sometimes

It really does show how desperate Marceline was to spend time with some semblance of the father she knew and loved that she helped this dementia-esque ridden version of him write a love song about her ex-girlfriend, that must have felt so weird and gross.
Mr. Sugar, your daughter has failed to cease amazing and stupefying altogether. I actually cried when the link between Marceline and the Ice King's pasts were made alight through song.
This was another top-notch episode, and I'm quite hopeful that THIS is the one to get an Emmy for Adventure Time. Send to your daughter our love, please!

The episode was absolutely amazing, Marceline is one of my favourite characters and it was so so great to have some backstory on her! Rebecca's wonderful voice acting and fantastic singing really tugged on my heart strings and I am so looking forward to another episode like I Remember You.
Every time I here your songs Rebecca sugar I just love them more and more thanks for bringing out the best in the shows.

Wow, sounds great! Her songs are some of the best part of Adventure Time so I was upset that she was leaving, but if Simon Universe has the same kind of songs I'm really excited for it! She's a great inspiration to me as a song writer.

i think my favourite thing about the AT songs is that they feel improvised, and the way they are delivered sometimes reminds me of speech.
