I built my own sound treatment in a similar way that you plan to and it worked great. Rock wool isn't fun to work with but once it's inside a wood frame and covered with cloth it's fine. I learned to avoid cutting the rock wool by making my wood frames the same dimensions as the insulation pieces.

Something that I've wanted since it first came out is suddenly in reach! A very little used 2021 Synthstrom Deluge with the Oled mod for £50 less than the Tracker+, So I bought the Deluge at 3 o clock in the morning for £750. What a result 😂, THANKS POLYEND! without you I would have missed one of my grails 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😎😎
Similar story: I was really annoyed at the Play upgrade program after just having a Play for 8 months. Instead of buying an upgrade for 400 I bought a MC707 for 450, which I am finding to be very versatile and a great addition to my setup. I think the message is GAS exists people need to have a second think about what is out there.

I would kill for this feature. It would be like mixing tracks down, but for external instruments.

don't you want to hang back a bit and just wait and see how buggy it is first? The Play+ was pretty shonky on release.
