    I just took out my diy micro locs I had in for 6 months because my hair texture is fine. I have 3 1/2 inches now. Unfortunately because my parts were too small, what kept happening is when I washed my hair so much shedding was in my sink. I re-loc'd my hair yesterday and made my parts bigger like yours. I was discouraged until I reviewed all your videos. My hair looks paper thin like your hair was in your starter journey. Just to see how thick your locs have gotten is giving me the strength to keep going. I was gonna shave all my hair off. With that said, thanks for sharing your journey. I'm disappointed I had to take down my micro - locs. They were beautiful. I am encouraged that I will have thickness again.

      Let me start by saying thank you for sharing your experience 😊..Now,,,Congrats 🎉on your new loc journey. This is my third set of locs, I started with Sisterlocks and kept them for three years. Due to postpartum shedding they started to get thin and break so I cut them off. The second time around I had someone else install micro locs for me and kept them for three months and every time I looked in the mirror I just wasn’t happy, so I took my time and pulled them all out. Finally after watching a few loc videos on UA-cam I decided to do it myself, and share my journey to help anyone who felt the way I did about my hair because having 4c hair fine hair is a struggle in itself. I say all this to say YOU GOT THIS!!!!!!! take it one day, one wash, one scarf at a time and never do a retight if you’re tired.

    Thanks for the update! Your locs are looking great. I'm a little over 1 month now and I started with the 4point.. I'm thinking of switching to the 2 because how good your hair has flourished with it. And yes I watched the whole video lol

      I started with 4 point. I needed to because my locks would slip out of 3 and 2 point. After the 2nd month most locks held and then I started 3 point rotations. I'm 7 months in now. I do 2 point for majority. I still have some that slip so I retie them using 4 point until they lock.

    Love your personality. You've inspired me to go ahead and loc my coarse low density 4c hair, I will do so as soon as I I get this postpartum shedding under control. Big up yourself. New subbie.

    Hii!!! I learnt 2 things from this video:
    1. I can use food grade rose water for my hair. This is a relief because that's the only type I've been able to find where I am (apart from face toners)
    2. Micro locs on fine hair 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼your hair looks GREAT!!!
    I'd like to know why you decided to do micro locs and not traditional locs? I'm trying to decide what to do with my fine hair. Thanks!

      Thank you 😊 I decided to do micro locs because I had Sisterlocks for three years so I had an idea of what my hair would look like. I had to cut them off after having my son because I had a lot of postpartum shedding. This time around I wanted locs that are small enough for me to do any kind of style with but still look full. I do the two point rotation to make my hair appear as full as possible. I do think traditional locks are beautiful, I just know there’s no way to have full traditional locs with my hair being so fine.

    Hi, I am so glad I buck up on your videos. I have just started my microloc journey and feeling abit down. I have 4c fine hair also and I am discouraged that my hair won't full out. Bi too have problems with my thin edges but am using my raw, smell bad, Jamaican castor oil. I have a question for you, what did you mean that you did not interloc your hair for 9 mths? Is that not the same as retightening? Thanks for sharing your journey and I am so happy to have someone on the similar journey as myself.

    • @JheanelleElaine
      @JheanelleElaine  3 роки тому +1

      Congrats 🍾🎊🎉 on starting your loc journey. There’s a castor oil on Amazon for about $8 and change. The link should be in the description, if not I’ll add it for you so you can dash weh di smell bad 😂...... I don’t get anything from you buying it I just know the struggle and it has help my struggle edges and made my hair fuller. Interlocing is a form of retightening, some people might palm roll sometimes and Interloc sometimes and both of those would be a retight. As for me, I just meant that for month 9 I was washing my hair and give it a break. But In months 10-12 I Interloc using the 2pt rotation.

      Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. I really need to have patience, honestly, I wish I could jump 1 yr ahead. My fine hair just looks stringy but it's only week so I will patiently wait for it to thicken up.

    Hi, my hair is fine 4c like yours. I've been micro loc for 2 1/2 month. Have you experienced new hair growth spouting out in areas that have been locked and, if so what do you do with that hair? Thank you for your reply.

    • @JheanelleElaine

      Let me start by saying Congrats🎉🎉 🎉🎊🎈 on starting your loc journey and welcome to the loc family. Your hair is at a stage where it needs you to tell it what to do meaning It needs you to direct it to whatever loc it’s supposed to be with or it will just attach to the closest loc. On that same note, you don’t want to put tension on any loc by over manipulating it. When I started I honestly just had to wait until it was time for re-tight then I would add the extra hair to the closest loc.
