- The best way to thank the Giver is to use the gift.
At Pentecost, the Lord poured out His Holy Spirit upon the disciples and blessed them with His gifts. Immediately, they used those gifts. These gifts were given to be used. And so are all of the gifts God continues to give.

I love how you relate your own experience with the Pentecost gift of the Holy Spirit. Those are the best homilies when our own priests use their life experiences to the daily gospel.

It’s been probably 20 years ago that I was approached at work by a young lady that knew I played guitar and asked if $5 was a good price for a guitar that was purchased for her dad back in 1976. 1976 Takaminie C128 with original strings that had been sitting in a variety of CLOSETS since its purchase was unique for sure. So I called a major music retailer and asked what they would give her and $95 so I paid her that for the guitar and started thinking. I approached my music duo partner and said there is a song in this story and not only about a guitar sitting in a closet for decades but about putting your talent or gift in a closet and never using them. Her wrote a song called “Amie’s Closet” & pray someday we can get it recorded and published.
Come Lord Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth! Thank you Father Mike for this wonderful homily.🙏

I always wondered at the glory of being there for the Holy Spirit but it was only that dramatic once...I didn't expect God to do that for every priest or person but if they needed that to get going, today they really need that kick too. ; ) Maybe in their hearts I pray we all get that fire.

I was thinking about the whole, "God doesn't give you more than you can handle" thing. I'm not sure that is true. (I write that a lot in my comments). Very sad stories of Jews who were devout and practicing before the Holocaust. But the suffering they endured caused them to lose their belief in a God. My struggles are in no way comparable to theirs, or with kids who have cancer, etc. But still they are the ones in my life and heart that I feel and experience. And sometimes I question whether I can carry a cross. I am left wondering again... Why is it like this? I saw you in a video say that suffering results in strength. But for some, it is too much. And why must it be like this anyway if God can make it different. I know.. I know... "It is not for us to question, 'why.' It is for us to do and die." Sigh

There’s something strange to me about a priest that dyes his hair.

I'm done with God for his permissive parenting style.
God understands what you can or what you can’t do. As God different gift to different people. Like Gid not gonna an expect a blind person to see. I am sorry for how so many people hurt. It’s terrible, but since we live world with wickedness where people choose to use their free will for evil. But God is there to lean on and will help through rough times. I understand if this hard grasp it still hard for me. Also, get where you come from it does feel like bad world it hard not to blame God. Sometimes you got to remind yourself the devil loves to attack when you’re most vulnerable. But as Christian life isn’t gonna be perfect. But I pray that you heal from any hurt any people did.
@@simplyitsashley5009 Yes over and over I have to read that this isn't heaven, he never promised us heaven on earth. I want every hurt child to have comfort now, every abused person to get help now, but we can pray and I know in heaven, they are given more for what they suffered. He expected us to be better at helping, not living in bubbles.
