Phantom Hourglass is so underrated. Like the Temple of the Ocean King wasn't even that bad, or at least I didn't think it was that bad. The controls are weird but when you get used to them they're easy to manage. And problems aside it's a really good game that deserves more love.
I've always loved this song so much, even in comparison to Wind Waker's great sea (maybe not more, idk), but I was never able to find a good cover, and the original version is... well, DS quality LOL. You don't realize how happy I am to hear this cover, and it sounds so incredibly good, way beyond expectations. I will be happily adding this to my playlist, thank you
I'll never forget the joy I had as a kid just roaming around Phantom Hourglass's seas as I unlocked them. You most definitely captured that feeling in this arrangement. Awesome work, as always!
I love the wind waker trilogy so much! I rank them 1: wind waker 2: spirit tracks 3: phantom hourglass But i still love all 3 pretty much equally Great Cover for such a fun game!
The Adult Timeline felt like a complete trilogy with a good conclusion whereas the Child and Fallen ones are a bit unequal (Twilight Princess is Majora's sequel yet felt more like a retelling of Ocarina of Time and it concluded with Fourswords Adventure for no reasons, the Fallen Timeline is a mish mash of top down Zelda games including a remake of ALTTP and a spinoff like Fourswords but I think that preventing the return of Ganon in Zelda II stopped him for good). BotW and TotK were a blank slate apparently.
Sadly in the english version he just says "You've got some nerve, you glittery bit of whatever! We're all making sacrifices!" in response to Ceila telling Linebeck he hasn't helped at all.
I remember having played the first half of the Canadian French version (with Oshus instead of Siwan for some reason, probably because it's his US name) but I think it was sadly differently said. That is really an unexpected reference (especially in a Zelda game). I remember a similar one in Chinatown Wars.
@@ikagura oh yes ! My first zelda game was the canadian version of Phantom Hourglass. And when I found later the french version, it was really different
@@justmoa186 Next time I replay PH I'd play the CN version then. There should be scripts or a playthrough with both versions next to each others. Isn't it weird how even between NA and EU the English text was different in some games? Advance Wars had variations in the text as well.
God we need remakes of the DS Games more than ports of WW and TP. I will stand on the Hill that the Temple of the Ocean King is not that bad and people who struggle with it are facing serious skill issues.
The main dungeon gets easier as you get more items, it was the entire point of it (like in a Metroidvania). When you finally get the Phantom Sword you have a lot of fun destroying them all.

This is such an amazing piece of music that really fits with the atmosphere of the game and makes you excited to go on an actual adventure across the seas 🌊
You have no idea how thankful I am that you covered this song. Really, you give the DS Zeldas the love they deserve. Thank you so much for your work :D
Today was a normal Saturday UNTIL I SAW THE LITERAL BANGER OF ALL TIME GET POSTED! Thank you so much for making this, I'll be listening to it on replay for months!
Oh, this is delightful!! Such a great arrangement of this song!! I first encountered this theme in Phantom Hourglass, and while I've played Wind Waker since, the Phantom Hourglass version has remained my favorite. Lovely to see it given such a high quality treatment here
Fantastic!! ❤ PH was my first zelda game, and thus holds a special place in my heart. This really takes me back, I hope to see this and/or Spirit Tracks make their return someday!
I've been replaying through each Zelda in release order since March, and I'm on Phantom Hourglass now. I've only played through it once before, and that was 17 years ago when it launched. It's better than I remembered! The Temple of the Ocean King still sucks to be honest but the gameplay is pretty great and the game is full of creative ideas.
How is it that whenever my mind is on a specific game or whenever I play a specific game, you soon follow up with a good remix of a song from the game? It's like you can read my mind or something!
But as long as Nintendo outsources the work, just like with _Metroid Prime_ recently or _Majora's Mask_ and _Ocarina of Time_ for 3DS. If they do it themselves, they make rubbish and overcharge for it to make things worse.
Wait .... This sounds a little compressed/bitcrushed, maybe, especially compared with some of your other work. Did you do that on purpose to give the feel of the DS audio? If you did I love it so much that there's that kind of attention to detail.

Yes it is! Definitely needs a switch 2 remake!
TotOK got tedious on the 7th replay but to even say I played it that many times says a lot more about the game! ❤
This music along with Linebeck's music represents the game quite well, it's sad to see how this game is so forgotten.
It's been so long since I've play Phantom Hourglass. It was my first video game I ever owned, and it will forever remain dear to me.

Both DS Zeldas are long overdue for remakes as well.
But without a 2nd screen, how can it be done?
Perhaps the Switch's successor wil have two screens, or something else to make it work
I feel like it could have a different gameplay style but the same story.
