I really admire these professional paint artists, as their job is not something anyone can do. You need an absurd amount of skill to achieve these results, and it requires a lot of experience to master the delicate movements needed to spray them to perfection. It looks very simple, but it's extremely hard to do. I say that as an amateur to try to paint some car parts at home and they end up looking worse hahaha
I switched my alloy wheels over to bead balancing about two years ago, because I was tired of the damage traditional stick on or hammer on weights did to my rims, and I have been quite happy so far. Just something to think about. Those wheels turned out Amazing. Congratulations! Most car repairs are a 'grudge purchase' but this was clearly a welcome and exciting day.
Amazing that it is still cheaper to do this instead of buying new wheels. This whole process doesn't look cheap! But then again, neither does your wheels ;) Nice vid!
Nice to see that they plugged the bolt holes and masked up the mating face on the back. I had a set powder coated by some cowboys and they didn’t. I had to sand the coating off with a Dremel.
I really liked this episode. That company does marvelous work. By the way, you do some excellent work too. I like watching you tear down and rebuild these machines. You are quite expert in your endeavors too. See you again soon.
They even lined up the emblem peice with the valve stem, I know most folks couldn't care, but it always makes me feel like the tech cares enough to pay attention. At the shop I work at I always line up the cover with the stem, and mount the wheel so that anything on the brake lines up as well, that way I can know when it comes back if anyone else has touched my work, or if I didn't do the work. So I know if I messed up or someone else has...
What a great video! An excellent look at how the experts do it! I hope to find a wheel resto place down here in Sydney, Australia that does stuff to the same quality! Keep up the good work mate!
Good luck finding one over here mate they’re all quick fixers out here. There’s a place up near me that does them in Brisbane and it’s legit all they do, and even they don’t go to these lengths. Smh, all I want is perfect wheels for my 1M is that too much to ask?
@@bonsaitigerMTB it’s so frustrating! Like I’ve got a set of wheel (aftermarket ones) that I want to get repaired for use on my Mazda 3 MPS but I just haven’t found anyone who I am confident enough with yet and I’ve been trying to look for over a year!
Damn I wonder if there a shop in the states that has that level of quality and professionalism as that one does. Unbelievably well done and look very good!
We have almost the same setup, except we've upgraded to an automatic blasting machine from Tema/ wheel paints. Saves both time and money. Takes about 3 minutes per wheel instead of 15 - 30 minutes when blasting manually
Nice to see, how they do it! Looks like rwal craftsmen working at industry level... The clear coat going on in white helps a lot to see the actual coverage, I think! Can't you overdo the amount of "paint" and risking runners in powdercoating? Thx for showing! :-D
"Curb Rash" is just a gouge, a _displacement_ of metal. In the restoration process, the metal is _relocated_ back where it originated. Think of it being bent, then straightened out. No extra metal needs to be added. Understand now?
Are you able to ceramic coat them right after this process? Also I would suggest some meatier tires it would make it look so much meaner but still a beautiful car!
I wouldn't be so hard on yourself in terms of your restoration experience. In some cases, your restorations are better than a 3rd party simply because you have the time to be meticulous where a commercial shop cannot. Regardless, always enjoy your content and this is no exception.
This is a UK based company. Overseas round trip shipping on four wheels would be hugely expensive. There are wheel restoration and repair shops in USA. You can do a Google Maps search under 'wheel restoration.' Look for shops rated four or five stars. Don't just shop on price. Paying a little more for better service is always better than paying twice to fix shoddy service.
Wow mate they look better than new. Loved the video, as always but this one was especial, never seen how they do it. Can I ask you how much they charge per wheel?
@@RestoreIt That’s not bad at all for the quality of work that it appears they do! Makes me wonder if I have something similar near me hear in the states!?
And naive me thought that silver alloy wheels were just unpainted, polished alloy metal! I should have known better. I used to think that only steel wheels were painted. I suppose the lightest metal wheels originally were that. Now of course, the lightest wheels are made of carbon fiber.
This is by far the best and thorough alloy wheel restoration
👍
I know you’re a restore channel but more of this 1M on the channel please! One of the best looking cars of all time IMO
Excellent behind the scenes look at a quality wheel repair shop. Wheels turned out great.
👍
Been a while since i’ve been early to a new video… good to see you still on the grind mate
Exquisite. Great places like this still exist
OEM ... sweet !!! look amazing, now i need to send my wheels out to a shop only 15 min from my house

Agreed. Paint, no matter how applied, is an art form. Some people just have it, most don't (and I DEFINITELY don't).
Loved every minute of this. Keep it coming mate!! 😍

Those wheels are killer, 100% the best stock wheel on any car. What a sick process

That is just perfection. 1M and you deserve nothing less
Hi..nice job.
Please can you tell me your final colour (code etc.)
I’m looking for a particular silver and a bit like the Audi 1H7 silver.
Cheers
Thank you for the video. I am looking for similar service in Socal.

👍
Very good
That's an impressive paint shop - I'm looking forward to the day you level up to too mate!
I need to find a place like that in the States!
Amazing job.
I had no idea.
Awesome video mate, thanks
They look fantastic .. and a great episode at that 😁💪🏻
More 1M videos 🔥
More to come!

fantastic video 👍
Wish there was a place like this near me. I have stack of wheels that could use repair
Thank you. I do like your videos....
Enjoy stuff like this, and shops that recondition parts instead of buying cheap knock offs from a catalog and calling it custom .
awesome video!
Great Video!
Great job. Cheers guys 👍
Yesss! Love my one series!
Really cool to see this. I want to find a company in California that does this now.
Great business idea for you! Travel to the UK and find out EXACTLY how they do what they do and you'll make a killing in Socal!
Looks wicked man
I never understand, when there is a scratch or damage like yours, doesnt require to add some material to wheels?Specially on the lip area

Impressive video, nice of you to share with us .great tutorial.keep it up.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Very well done job!
Love your work 👍
Looks good 👍🏼 would have appreciated they checked the runout on your wheels.
Great vid
MayI ask the cost for having all four rims done! Excellent post! Many thanks! Liked and subscribed!

Really top Video Love it ❤️👍❤️
id never curb those wheels again knowing how much goes into restoring them, dayum
Acrapovic next :)
Please restore an antonov 225 myra next
No filler after sanding?
No need :D
Beautifully done! Cost?
£100 a wheel
So how exactly did they fixed that curb rash? just sanded off?
yes :)
And now thousands of other people are jealous of that blasting cabinet too!
Great content! Keep it up
Wow a 1M! One year only car and the USA got less than 1,000 of these in all. Hugely sought after car.
I have 2 cars that I want a manual and I can't find anything in that site....
They look amazing! Excellent workmanship. On a side note, are the 1M's exhaust tips dirty or do they just have a dark color to them?
They are in need of a serious clean!
My local powder coater has been a lifesaver more than once, especially when it comes to wheels.
Nice 👍🏻
how much did it cost you
Excellent video but are them Triangle branded tyres on them?
Just for winter yes, haha. I have four stock tyres to put on soon.
@@RestoreIt guessing this was actually done a while ago then? What summers you got for it?
What’s the actual colour paint code? Could you please find out perhaps please?
Good job, how much was cost total? considering take my alloy wheels aswell.
£100 a wheel or there abouts depending on what you need.
People are quoting £100 per alloy, that’s crazy money, place I know is £55 plus vat, for exactly the same process.
И сколько стоит интересно за 4 диска?
Very cool! That acid bath was crazy. The pain was peeling off in under a second. Btw how are their prices? I’m in the States, so just wondering.

@@iTeerRex probably its hard to say how much it cost as it was "promotional video"
@@Egon1982 Umm no way he wouldn’t know the price.
Around £100 a wheel

Thanks mate. They charge £100 a wheel i think. Dont quote me on that but around £100 per wheel.
@@RestoreIt thank you brother.
Is this usually a 1 day turn around? Or was this just because you filmed ?
Usually a two day turn around
How much would this cost
Around £100 per wheel
Hi, can you tell me the Style of those rims?
And the color of the rims that was freshly painted? Thanks
They are BMW style 359 and finished in hyper silver
I really need to get my rims restored. My m435i low profile rims have kissed one too may curbs.
lookd amazing , one thing im wondering about your bmw, would you keep it on spanish plates if you could?
Thanks! And no. I would have no plate if it were up to me, haha. The car started life in Germany and was then imported to Spain and now the UK.
@@RestoreIt followed you from before the move to spain, i would keep it and not trade for a uk model. i would take a left hand drive mk2 focus any day
3rd tire
How much did that repair job cost you?
They charge around £100 a wheel depending on what needs to be done

The discount code is only giving 15% off
My 9" Borbet As could do with a referb in that diamond machine lol
Should have ceramic coated them while they were off
I gotta be honest with you, I'm not big on BMW's, but they did a fantastic job on those wheels.
👏👏👏

Those wheels are sexy af. Been looking for a pair for my e92 m3 but people are asking for way too much money 😭

They did a great job! I'm not a fan of the oversize wheel/rubber band tires though. That Lambo looks , to me, quite stupid.
😍😍😍👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

A human sized oven? Hmm...
