omg....I love it. I am a beginner in sewing and I am so proud of saying I have so far made skirts, burping cloths, baby blankets, stuffed elephant and whale, pacifier holder with clip, baby hat and want to keep learning thanks to tutorials like this one. Oh I also learned how to use a sewing machine with youtube. So once again, thank you so much.
I just LOVE your tutorials! I have been sewing a long time and never thought of using my pinking shears to cut around the curved edges. What a brilliant idea! Can't believe I never thought of doing that as I am always looking for short cuts. Thank you Vanessa.
Hi! I’ve made larger versions of the lip balm case for tins of lip balm and also for tissues. I am currently making lots of them for staff on our local respiratory ward as a thank you for their hard work at this difficult time. Thank you for your brilliant, easy to follow tutorials. Janet UK
Thank you so much for teaching such small sewing projects. I'm very new to sewing so these tutorials are very helpful for a beginner like me. Your tutorials are very clear to understand. Waiting for more!
April 2019...I’m learning a lot from watching your videos. I’ve made myself an ironing board, after watching the video. For the wood bit, I had a small box shelf, it was ideal. I used an ironing mat, that I bought cos I thought it would be better. But it wasn’t. So I folded it in half, and stapled it to my box, then covered it with a pillow case, to match the curtains and duvet cover in the spare room/ my sewing room. It works perfectly well. I’m very pleased with it. Thank you! Now, I’m making the lip balm case. I’ve already made a glasses case, a drawstring bag, and a bookmark...all in the same fabrics. They are for my sisters birthday, next week.
I made some last year during the 12 Days of Christmas. Decided to make MANY more this year as party favors for my annual Holiday party. Cut 36 out. Now ready to sew. Great scrap buster!
Hey Vanessa thank you for doing this. I carry my business cards in one, made another for change, and made one for each of my grandchildren and it holds life savers. Great ideas!!!! Thank you!
I have really enjoyed watching your instructions videos on all the different types of bags and cases. You are extremely informative and explain the directions very well. I am now going through all my scraps to start a marathon day of sewing all types of fabric cases. Thank you very much.
I have some similar sized pouches I've made, but without the snap flap closure, and I wasn't sure what to do with them in terms of telling folks how they can be used. I did think a mini manicure kit (mini Emery board and nail clippers) could work but didn't try the small lotion tube. Thanks for the idea!
Hey! I have been watching your videos like crazy because, you are such an excellent teacher! I'm brand new to sewing and I was pretty scared to do anything until I found you! Thank you so, so much for making a beginner like me feel like I can actually make beautiful things! You give me confidence, and your by far the best teacher I have found! And believe me....!... I've seen at least 100 videos in this past week!
Hi Vanessa! Thank you for sharing your videos! I am learning so much from you. You are an excellent instructor and you have such great ideas. I also enjoy reading the comments from your followers and love all the suggestions and other ideas that they share. You're the best!! 👍💟😊
Hi...I have made so many of these....thank you Vanessa. To streamline my process, I cut the lining and exterior/lining piece at the same time. This way I get accurate pieces.
Thank you for sharing this! I have been trying to come up with a way to make little pouches like this for feminine personal care products. This is a great! I'm going to make some of these.
Hi Vanessa, thank you for this great tutorial! I don't know if you still look here, but I had been wanting to replace my old, old, old, lipstick holder which had a really pretty silky Chinese design fabric, a little mirror on the inside of the flap, and it snaps close. I'm going to rip the little rectangular mirror from the old case, and glue it to my inside flap, so I can always apply my lipstick, no matter where I am. They still sell the Chinese ones on amazon, but people complain that they come with a really nasty odor. yuck! You just gave me a quick and fun alternative!!! I'm going to make more as gifts, although they won't have the mirror (which by the way measures 3" x 3/4").
Hi. You are amazing. I havd spent nearly half of my weekend watching and tryi g your projects. Your instructiobs are fab......love how you call the right side the pretty side. I do not any interfacing so just doubled the fabric and works well. Making these to give to work colleagues with a lip balm. Thanks so much....addicted subscriber 😁
sew easy 😮 I’m going back through your older videos to find little projects to do. Anyways thank you for this tutorial and I will be making a few of these of course!
Oh Diane you gave me a great idea. You are right this is perfect for my friends that use Essential oils and a great scrap buster. Love Vanessa for her great tutorials.
I ordered my snap kit and can’t wait to make one. Question for you though on another project. I loved your improve tote bag with MSQC, but would like to add a zipper for a friend of mine that would like one. I have watched your video on adding zippers, but how would you add a zipper to that particular bag?
I am new to sewing. Please could you tell me what the interfacing is for. Does it make the project stronger? Thanks for all the great videos. I really enjoy them.
Hi Vanessa!!! Question.... After it's flipped and you see the finished edges isn't there still a hole? Can you sew the finished edges to close the turning hole? Love your videos!! Thank you for all you do to encourage sewing!!
So clever and cute. Going to makes some for sure. How about q-tips and dental floss, gum & mints or a small sewing kit. You are right - endless possibilities! TFS!
Hi what a great video love all your videos. Could you please make these again but for a glasses. As not sure on measurements to make a glass case. Thankyou.
Hello, i just found this video and it is perfect for what I need. Just wondering if you could advise the best method when using a directional fabric...
Where did you get that fabric for the lip gloss case in the intro video ? The fabric that you’re holding….. I love it. I’ve bought it bf, but I can’t remember who the designer is or where I bought it? Is it Riley Blake? Maywood? Please let me know if you remember I would love to buy some more. Thank you 😊 and thanks for this video. I’m definitely making my daughter one of these 💗
I love this chapstick holder. I added a tab for key ring or carabiner. 👍🏽❤

I would also use it as a kit for bandages and Neosporin.
Great video. You could also use these for earbuds or phone charger cord.
Joni Sorsen that’s what I use one of mine for.
Great fast gift idea Vanessa, Thanks! This will be perfect for my family and friends for their contact lens cases and eye drops!
