Listening to Demond now is so refreshing and such an education for this 60 year old white woman. I rarely take the time to listen to an almost 2 hour podcast, but THIS had me so engaged. They say they don’t need a man, because there are no real men available. And they keep having children in uncommitted relationships. I know there’s not enough men to go around, and black women are the most educated women in this country, they are more educated than, all people in this country. They have a lot of student loans to pay off, but they are looking for partners to match their income levels and their educational levels, and that is going to be like finding a needle in a haystack and most men nowadays, do not even want the responsibility of a mortgage and children.

      It's the truth. My high school was in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in my city. You would see an occasional Mercedes or Caddy but for the most part they drove some of the most basic cars. Then you go to the hood and folk got every high dollar vehicle on the market sitting in front of some apartments or projects 🤦🏾‍♀️. Black folk drove their wealth that's not even worth what the paid for it after leaving the lot, white folks wealth is in the bank or their property. This was in (79-81).

      His knowledge and wisdom was appropriate for his time. But the same thing happened back in the day it's not anything against black women it's just that that's all they were around and that's what they fell in love with. When white women are easier on a man's eyes because of their personality he didn't mean that he meant they were easy on the eyes because it's something that they never had. Black women are sitting around just saying this is how you're supposed to be there is no law that says that a woman should have to shut up and sit down and be a child after she's been raised by her parents already. That's just some s*** that black men have conjured up in their mind because they think white men are that way. In some cases white men do talk down to white women and white women put up with it for the money but black women are too headstrong and that'll be me😂

      yep Demond felt like that favorite Uncle you love to visit that always held nothing back, always had the best advice, and always kept yo butt in check and cracking up doing so...many of us probably felt connected to Mr. Wilson but moreso connected to Jon because that was us talking to Unk😅.. that was us with the thoughts of "pause" and that was us with every question and new understanding of the real,... those moments we "pause" we learn from Uncle Grady he speaks from a wider voice, a wider range of decades of connotation and definition he hits us with how really our limited era or frame reference was as limited as lingo or phrases Jon was boxing Unk with==that's why he said he wasn't speaking as a child or seeing it through our limited lens of referral--new understanding. Meanwhile OG delivered the memo with receipts😅.. and a pistol😂🤣... Thanks Uncle Grady (Demond) Wilson, we here for it, we love the OG for it.

      @lisa196409 6 місяців тому +6

      Yes he does need to listen to him. However he's saying the same thing that my mother said. My mom said Oprah did things for white people because a lot of those white women wouldn't pay their mortgage because they wanted to go see Oprah. So she catered to the group of people that cater to her. My mother also said that a lot of white women were always at the basketball games front and center they would buy the best tickets. They were there being supportive not asking for money didn't care if the ball players were asking them for favors, play performing fellatio on one of them in the locker room. They were just happy to be around these high-profile athletes. Now fast forward if they got married to him or they hooked up with them as a couple, these males who are high power have money on basketball teams key players became very abusive towards these white women that sat in the front row. I've had black girlfriends tell me that they went to an athlete's pool party and the athlete told her to shut up and sit down and don't say a word. I know a lot of beautiful women end up missing and murdered because of these athletes but they don't dare do that to a white woman. That would bring too much attention. They knew with Kobe Bryant liked so they set him up. When Kobe didn't want to play anymore if they became angry. Get what I'm saying

    I’m 39, I was Jon talking to guys in their 50’s and 60’s. I thought I was smarter because of the “new era” I was in at his age. He can’t get a word in because Demond has had to listen to at least 3 generations of youth that don’t know much about anything. I sounded dumb to Demond’s demographic too and guess what? They were right to cut us off if we weren’t receptive to the knowledge. The youth are a waste of time and energy if they fight against time and experience. I was Jon 10-15 years ago, now I shake my head at 20-30 year olds still fighting the inevitable.

      Demond has to reiterate his statements and he has to be very careful and specific because Jon seems to hear what he wants to hear rather than hear what Demond is actually saying. I can see that Jon is quick to insinuate and make inferences that are sometimes incorrect or unnecessary when Desmond is speaking in general terms. I can tell he is not college educated and not very well read, which is why Desmond has to reiterate and clearly make his point.
      But what I do like is that Jon gives Desmond the respect he deserves as a veteran actor without insulting his age too much, which Jon’s generation is known for! Instead, Jon listens (if only to try to correct Desmond!) which makes the interview much better.
      I was born in the early 1970’s and I remember watching Desmond in Sanford and Son and a few other shows he was in. Good to see him looking healthy and still able to be quick witted!
