I walked away from video games for years for this reason. The other thing that causes this is the overwhelming amount of options. I have a huge Steam library but can’t decide on one thing to play, let alone finish
I just got my pc (about a month ago) today i finished fc3 blood dragon Before that one i played the og mirrors edge I have already played cs2, halo infinite and cod bo zombies too I aint gonna stop !!
So I’m 43 and i started my gaming journey on atari 2600 on a black and white tv and when I found a game I was good at on nes I was laughed at because my game wasn’t for everyone else. This was the best video I’ve seen in a very long time.
I ramp up video games when it's cold out, and ramp up yardwork/swimming/lounging outside when it's warm out. My daughter has no interest unless it's a Mario game, but I can only take so much. And it's in between when it's time for heavy home projects. I also don't feel bad about playing simply on Medium difficult when there is hard and ultra difficult options- those are options intended to keep people glued to the game while raising that secret game clock metric up for each user.
I enjoy watching football and reading more than i do playing video games at this point. Plus i gotta wife and daughter. As we get older we get overwhelmed by our options with gaming. So many games you think you wanna play but you drop them as soon as you realize its not for you.
To balance out between different hobbies also helps with creative-thinking. Like when I play DOOM for no more than 2 hours, then I switched over to cartoons and watched Darkwing Duck. Then when looking upon what I learn from two different hobbies; I find that NegaDuck is not too different from Doomguy. Maybe there can be a Doom mod based on Darkwing Duck where you play as NegaDuck.
I'm glad to see you bring up this topic. Not enough content creators talk about video game burnout. The takeaway message is to just have fun with what you're doing; if you're not having fun, stop
Loading screens and updates also take up alot of our times on top of these massive empty open worlds.. I like playing old Mame games and just try to get high score for the day
I'm burnt out on modern games. Last modern game I love are witcher 3 and dragon quest 11. I fell into the monotonous cycle of grinding on gacha games like genshin impact and Honkai star rail. But replaying the OG FF7 and Xenogears reinvigorated my love for retro video games. Specially classic Ps1 rpgs inside and outside Square soft. I also enjoy older pokemon games like Heart gold, Ruby remake, X and Y. I also love replaying classic platform action games like the megaman(X and Zero series)
Some great tips here. I remember when Pong came out in the early 1970`s and later, Asteroids and Pacman. It`s amazing to see how far along gaming has come. It`s actually good brain exercise in moderation. But so is learning to play a musical instrument.
I started with the Atari 2600 and was hooked on gaming immediately. I always avoided online multiplayer games (for the most part) and gravitate toward more simple gaming experiences. For the past year or so I have been playing mostly Pinball FX (so addicting to chase those high scores), the occasional single player open world game, shmups of all kinds, indie games, and retro game emulation. Some of modern gaming is a chore. I play for the fun aspect and when it feels like work, I bail.
Im burnt out on GTA Online crappy server system where I get stuck in the "loading abyss" for missions or entering/leaving a building etc, and Im burnt out how IP games are treated lately like how Gundam Battle Operation 2 is severely imbalanced
I wanted to do it for content but the energy to go through with it wasn't there lol I just decided to play for the enjoyment. There's enough people doing it for content anyway.
This video absolutely need to be exposed more to ppls recommendations. I personally started learning guitar lately as an escape from gaming too much, gotta say I feel like a whole different person in comparison.
my biggest let down was AI increasingly cheating w no justice accountability 4 games devs to force positive changes back / get sued clean 4 cheating players ; in a sneaky way. Still a gamer.
Can you do an in depth video on how to play PS1 & PS2 games on a jailbroken PS3 and/or PS4 please? If possible, how to play PS3 games on PS4 too. Thank you🫶🏼
I have thoroughly burnt out on AAA games years ago. Multiplayer games got incredibly high investment and disgusting in their design and business. The single player games are bloated, painfully easy, and unfocused. I can't do the open worlds and 70 hour RPG's. This is why I mainly stick to my Japanese/Japanese styled arcade games and older, traditional titles. My bullet hell shooters and action platformers take a *long* time to wear their stay out if they do at all.
I‘m recently going through that burnout due to todays lack of good catchy games. Every video game which focuses on simulating reality (Fifa,NBA2K,COD,etc.) is just too buggy and glitchy and then when these producers make a fun game with a story and fun gameplay, the title score is below 5/10 due to not having these „irl graphics“. But in exactly 2 weeks my burnout will diminish due to Dragonball Sparking Zero (Budokai Tenkaichi 4) releasing after nearly 17 years!!
Finally got bloodborne and did 2 playthroughs in a week and a half guess i was craving the challenge bcuz i finished demons souls right after the modern titles are way too stale . Another thing is playing games with family like movie game choices or games that are slower like the last guardian etc
also just saying on the local multiplayer convo u can do this with online friends with emus now eay uing parsec mee and a friend beat ghouls annd goblins that way lol u should make a tutorial for people to use parsec with ur emu set ups fam!
I had more fun playing the PS1 demo discs as a kid than I do playing a hundred million dollar budget game now
Lol yea those demo discs that came with game magazines were a good time

yep, definitely been there. staring at the library, scrolling up and down only to play nothing in the end.
I agree. My Epic library has grown pretty big as well with all the free games they have given away.

Just play what u want u don’t have to try everything because they are considered the best
Find new methods & techniques on what to play.

I grew up on the NES as well

My ADD prevents me from gaming more than an hour without taking a break 😅. Great video btw
We all needed this

I really needed something like this video. Thank you.
Thanks bro. I needed this so much.
You didn't have to put ROcket League in the clips, I feel personally attacked lol Great video!
🤣Thank you, and I love Rocket League casually.
I’ve been absolutely rejecting open world games and multiplayer games in recent years. They’re too much, to stressful, and just not fun anymore.
Love this. Tons of great points
In other words there has to be a balance with gaming and doing real life stuff. Nice video man.
Great points to avoid, what I call, "zombification". Greetings from a 37-year-old watcher and still a gamer.

Modern gaming has become to aggressive, we used to beat the game to unlock all characters but now you buy them as dlc.
💯
If you dont play mp games
I think this hardly happens
You must not have played a Ubisoft game lately, lol
@@ShandellJames lately
No
Play ps2
Remake after remastered sucks bro 😎

Always take a break (if ain't GTA6) 💪🏾 + Gym , work, family, women , priorities comes first
