1:45 I don't why but that part always makes me feel sad when fighting The Boss. It always reminded me that she's actually the good guy and this is a tragedy of a story.
That's the idea, like the Boss had to kill the Sorrow, even though it was the father of her child, she didn't have done it out of hate, but out of duty. And the same goes to Naked Snake, he doesn't want trully to kill her, but it's his duty. You could say, there is no true moment in Metal Gear's story where we are trully presented with a trully evil character, although some have a disturbed and dark mind set, they are always bounded to a dramatic and sad circunstance.
You know that it had happened for some soldiers in some countrys, that have to endure mission and did it even to blame themself, to save their country or else, for the sake of others ? It is the best sacrifice you can give to anyone. If no one is able to do the same for you it's that it's not a "TRUE LOVE". If you can give your everything to someone or something, it's that you have found your goal in life. We humans are stronger with a real GOAL. I remember the first time I fought The Boss, I was struggling with her. But then this theme came on and inspired me. As a result, I kept on fighting. Eventually, I got the Boss on her last legs, she had just a tiny bit of her stamina left. And I finished her off with some CQC RIGHT before the song ended. Twas quite an epic way to finish a final boss fight.
Yesterday I finished Snake Eater on the European Extreme, The Boss took the longest to defeat without using any healing items. I heard this song play at least 50 times over.
This was an amazing boss fight. You can really feel it at the end when you have to shoot her. MGS3 has the best ending of all MGS games so far, but the Big Boss part at the end of MGS4 is close.
Despite not playing Metal Gear Solid 3 before 4, yeah, I did have quite the chills when it kicked in, lyrics and all! Cynthia Harrell can do that to ya.

This instrumental song and the version with the lyrics always makes me shed a tear for The Boss. I want a game to come out that you play as her. I love her so much! SALUTE TO THE BOSS!!!
After the end of the battle, I swear I had to wait maybe 30 minutes, just waiting for something to happen, before coming to the harsh conclusion that I actually had to press the button for the story to continue. This moment is, for me, the most heart-breaking action I had to do as a gamer in my whole life. I was 15 at the time, my English was like early intermediate level, but I played MGS3 right on the US release of the game because I couldn't wait for the EU release in French. I only caught the main line of the story back then, but the cinematics and what I could understand from the dialogues really moved my teenager heart, I could not bring myself to kill The Boss. I re-played the game 2 more times, one time with French subtitles when the EU just release, and once again with English subtitles (a few years later when my English was at middle advanced level). My best rank was Chameleon, Extreme difficulty, no alert, no kill. Maybe the best game ever for me, sentimentally. Thanks Kojima sama and Konami for bringing us a life-changing story/experience, at least for me. My life was never the same after discovering the MGS franchise.
Sadly, she was the easiest boss battle. When you find the snow camo and zombie face paint, it is so goddamn easy :'( The hardest thing was pulling the trigger
I was utterly baffled at the end of the game when i learned the insane amount of burden The Boss had to bear and the amount of her loyalty to her country.
The first time I played this game, when I beat The Boss, I swear I must have sat for about five whole minutes just trying to find a way of not having to press square. It was just heart rending. Of course, if Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 get remakes, we'll have to "pull the trigger" on Big Boss ourselves, won't we?
Thanks, man. I love this version--just the instrumental, then BOOM--she starts singing, and you KNOW the bombs are about to come. First time I beat the Boss, it was RIGHT AT THE END OF THE SONG! Had to grab the camo as fast as I could, before the bombs went off. Good times.
Ill be honest while this boss fight felt the most epic by a long shot, the Sniper battle with the end is still probably my favorite boss fight in gaming, getting your ass handed to you until you figure out how to beat him at his own game... brilliant...

Man, I didn't know this played automatically after five minutes. I played this game just recently, and The Boss was just handing me my ass during the first few minutes of the last fight. But around the halfway mark, I found my rhythm and started whittling away at her health while mine steadily increased. I swear this music started playing right when I was beginning to turn the tide in my favor. I just assumed the music started playing when you were winning. At any rate, it was pretty damn cool.

I was thinking that too, but Solid Snake really earned my respect after ignoring a heart attack, crawling through a giant microwave, and still beating the crap out of Ocelot afterwards.
I think the music helps build a mood and give a sense of urgency for your first play through. I actually ended up figuring out how to beat her after losing almost all of my health, and so I had to play it safe and be spot on with my cqc counter. I ended up killing her on the very last note of this song. It was maybe my most memorable boss fight and most memorable video game experience.
This fight gets so much sadder when you realize that CQC is the way to beat the Boss. The easiest way to to beat the Joy is to use what she taught her student against her. It's probably the most bittersweet moment of the game and I'd like to think one of the proudest moment's of the Boss's life.

I remember dying so many times on this boss I hardly used cqc properly on my first playthrough due to off brand controllers having no pressure sensitivity. When the 5 minute timer went off and snake eater played the weight of this mission truly came down and I felt a rush of adrenaline from this fight. The lyrics kind of click too! But most importantly I was wounded from the boss and I had no chance of winning but I did. I swear to God this song makes miracles if you ever feel like you're too weak like you want to give up on something or are certain to fail snake eater will whip you into shape I believe this song does this to people I'm not lying. Still sad. RIP megaupload.
There will never be better ending boss theme ever
Finishing this game in Extreme-European with this amazing theme is Awesome!!!The game is Awesome too!I'll play it again and again
One of the best boss battles ever, and I've never played the game, I've only seen a playthrough.
i just fighted a boss in dark souls III and i killed him synced with the end of this song, it was amazing.
I fought this battle in The Sorrow's camo. So symbolic!
Yeah, the imagery, music, and voice over work was just beautiful at the end.
My opinion is that Snake Eater is the best MGS game ever, and this song is just too full of awesomeness. Never before have I thought of liking this type of music, but I can't deny this pieve being so great.
summary: I F%$@G LOVE THIS!!!!
This gave me chills when it played during the fight. This is in my top ten boss fights ever. It's emotional, tense, and beautiful all in one Snake Eating package. I salute you Boss
this song is epic
I remember dying so many times on this boss I hardly used cqc properly on my first playthrough due to off brand controllers having no pressure sensitivity. When the 5 minute timer went off and snake eater played the weight of this mission truly came down and I felt a rush of adrenaline from this fight. The lyrics kind of click too! But most importantly I was wounded from the boss and I had no chance of winning but I did. I swear to God this song makes miracles if you ever feel like you're too weak like you want to give up on something or are certain to fail snake eater will whip you into shape I believe this song does this to people I'm not lying. I listen to this at the gym.
Doctor: You have six minutes and twenty seconds to live.
Me:

epic climbing, I felt amazed on how this music matched that part so well
@mojokharma i tried fighting her on extream mode and it took me like 58 tries to finally beat her that's i had to really rely on stealth.
