Someone definitely won't abuse this new rule to its maximum capacity.
Twitch is very good at regulating their rules.
Right guys?
@@Lovemeew48nobody cares about your video
fr i dont think anyone would even think of abusing it. totally not because i went on twitch and looked for 30 seconds and saw overwatch porn compilation
yeah they really are
@@Furiac. sarcasm
The "art" section is just people making cartoon porn now. Tits, dicks and everything... You don't even have to click the streams. You can see it in the thumbnails..
Twitch policy be like: "Giving birth live on stream is strictly prohibited, please do not give birth live on stream, this is your final warning".
Well hey, that would make it just like Valve games servers!
Excellent penguinz0 comment copy paste
i seen this comment on another video

@@cyreptus4604good for you.
It was absolutely a necessary change. Asmongold’s editor tested out what a brand new account belonging to someone claiming to be 13 would have on their homepage, and >75% of the streams were topless. Until someone fixes the problem that a significant portion of twitch users are horny losers, streamers are going to keep exploring the fact that a significant portion of twitch users are horny losers for profit. Controlling when and how streamers are allowed to exploit people being horny on main is way easier than banning it entirely. As the record shows, this’ll happen regardless of how strict the policy is, and they can’t catch everyone. Allowing people to have more risqué content as long as it’s labelled should allow them to keep it from showing to minors, which is the real goal here.
It also puts the onus of blame off twitch without losing viewers. If a steamer doesn’t label something, that’s on them. If a kid lies and says they’re 18, also on them. It’s also way easier than treating the porn-addled brains of the people who keep these streams getting high numbers.
Even in category views it should be like an opt-in setting or a separate link you need to click to show also 18+ stuff. I'm generally not looking for that on twitch and I'd rather not that become such an overridingly strong form of content on the site, or make it difficult for streamers not willing to do that to get viewers.
For the short term seems like female streamers who draw and make not lewd art are getting a ton of coomers
Literal porn sites exist that cater to horny losers on the internet, especially Twitch's horny losers. All these streamers that just want to do nude streams and sexualized streams can just tell their viewers to go to a porn site and watch them there. The rules change should've just been for the art streamers. Not the body painters but, for people who can actually draw and paint on a canvas.
@@zztzgza "I want Jeff Bezos to decide who can 'actually' draw and paint."
@@MorlockTrxsh Jeff Bezos is dead.
I just wanna say, I love how candid ludwig is with his audience. Especially that bit at the end there.
What did he kind of mutter at 8:00, he can now do his what?
@@DivinePlantmidrolls. As in midroll ads. It's what makes youtubers most of their money and it's only able to be used after a video exceeds 8 minutes

And we finally get the reason lud is going back to twitch

Unlike “Ludwig”, mogul mail NEVER disappoints
Indeed!
Maga Mail*
Yeah i freakin hate that ludwig guy but this mogul mail dude is cool 😎
True
What ever happened to Ludwin?
Wubbys reaction was iconic
Wubby scraming "WRITE IN ON THE PENIS" and having the wolf dude drawing a MASSIVE DONG write "Hi Wubby!" on said penis was iconic too. 😂😂😂
#Wubby7
What's the story behind this? Who's he reacting to?
congrats for getting this approved, lud! were so proud of you and cant wait for the upcoming streams!
twitch never fails to inspire controversy
W TWITCH PROMOTING PORN FOR MINORS
They're struggling to grow and looking for ways to do so.
Although I dunno if I really buy the argument that they'll have to deal with less moderation. When it comes to sexual content, it gets a lot more difficult to moderate such that stuff stays within the law, and you know the more seedy folks will try to push some underage stuff on there. Where having a blanket ban on sexual content makes the moderation a good bit simpler.
The human body isn't inappropriate.
@Aeduo Just take the approach of blocking that content and js only accessible If you turn on "18+". I mean hell, most sites do it.
@viderevero1338 the all powerful over 18 check box. Keeping exactly 0 non 18+ people from viewing content they shouldnt.
They must have done this proactively before Ludwig returns
Obviously 😂
Your intricate understanding of business is terrifying.
I think at the end of the day it comes down to what you said at the end of the vid- Twitch wants a way to "self-report" and mark yourself 18+ so they can go to advertisers and say "you don't have to worry about accidentally popping up on something inappropriate, we've got all those streams sectioned off over here and won't run your ads on them." They just want a way to easily section off what is and isn't brand safe to boost advertiser confidence
Twitch drawing "clear boundaries" and then banning dozens of streamers following those boundaries TO THE LETTER, sounds about right
idk man they didn't read the rules and just went off off what twitter users who didnt read them either were saying, sounds fair to me
@cooltwittertag but the kawaii booby streamers can show full Kitty on stream and get a minor ban. It's dumb af. Twitch is an awful platform.
What twitch does need to go ahead and do is make straight 18+ categories if they wanna cut down on moderation cause the mix of standard art streams and nsfw art streams has been causing a lot of issues for artist in general.
EDIT: Overall it was an extremely rushed change that they need to clarify and work on a lot more.
2ND EDIT: Welp RIP this I guess since it just got revoked
Or at least make an after dark platform that way Adult Streamers can have the freedom to do what they want with their bodies and content and not to be Meets with backlash and protection because the main platform just isn’t gonna cut it anymore with the amount of underage users popping up to their streamers chat and moderators just doing nothing but policing on the content no matter how hard they try to follow the rules and guidelines
I know Picarto (a streaming service exclusively for art I believe) have an nsfw section seperated from the normal streaming section. If a lesser used and known streaming site can do it, Twitch can
That would result in them taking a hit on their ad revenue. Most advertisers don't want to advertise on websites with porn in them.
That's why twitch is trying to work around this without directly labeling it as "porn" and saying dumb shit like "hot tubs" or "artistic nudity" lol. Otherwise they would lose a lot of money.
@@vic44rd problem is they’re still gonna lose money if this gets bad. Someone already posted a Nintendo ad showing up in a stream with a furry dick. Now as if now the the nsfw has slowed down since people are getting banned/mass reported
When they do that advertisers will take notice and pull ads. The ambiguity is important for twitch so they can sell high quality ads against content that wouldn't normally be advertiser friendly
Excellent news for Jerma who will no longer have to fear getting banned for being nude on stream.
Ludwig returns to twitch around the same time as nudity being aloud. Coincidence? I think not
Always appreciate your level-headed / well-reasoned takes.
We need to get a male streamer doing this shit to #1 on Twitch.
Yasss queen
Why?
yeah because male streamers aren't at the top of twitch enough
YYYYAAAS BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE MALE TWERK AND DO STREAPTEASE YAAASH QUEEEN. (sarcastic obv)
OH pole dancing male will do fr fr
Another problem with the new change: the past hours a fckton of art streamers got mass reported and banned despite completely adhering to the TOS (fully nude but not sexual drawing (now allowed), completely SFW art, blank canvas etc.). I hope they get this figured out
What constitutes sexual anyways? Most nude images being drawn are clearly meant to be sexual although the figure depicted doesn't do any sexual physical actions and completely follows the new (shit) twitch TOS. IMOP twitch should either go full 18+ or be strict with the rules don't make some grey area of unknown. Artistic nudity should not be allowed if twitch is still trying to make the a place for non-porn content because it is impossible to regulate with rules and only is able to be judged as sexual through subjective means.
@@redakdal Hell no! Annytf, Saruei and many others were banned for nothingburgers. Baalbuddy was banned for drawing Greek statues. A literal hate campaign from trash streamers, there were actual channels that encouraged reporting ARTISTS (edit: not confirmed, most of rumours about it shattered hard, some of the big channels were only discussing new rules and got banned too). Not botted twerking channels, not those girls linking their PH and OF in the bio, but ARTISTS. People who draw. Let that sink in.
How sad do people have to be to be THAT mad at nudity lmao
@@Molya Yup, Anny only drew cock, tits, and cameltoe and got banned lmao, this was just a trap set by twitch
I got banned for it drawing an nude pin up :D! You know what's more fun? My appeal was rejected so someone on their team is not informed about the system. Btw I had the proper tags as well and even 18+ in stream title.
My friend and I were scrolling through Twitch's art section yesterday. It was wild. Everyone wanted to push the limits of these new rules.
4:30 u missed a lil something there at the bottom 💀
I think the whiplash between SFW and NSFW videos/streams is a bit more relevant to Twitch than on UA-cam. NSFW stuff 100% exist on UA-cam, and to be fair by volume there is probably more of it on UA-cam. It's really the ability for an NSFW stream with suggestive themes and another SFW stream to be right next to each other, just because they are under something as broad as "art" or "just chatting" is notable.
Yeah but volume is different than proportion. Anyways twitch did a 180 on the policy, no one is surprised. Advertisers are key.
UA-cam isn't as parasocial on twitch. Far less simps donating to "yoga training" on UA-cam than "thanks kongdong27 for 500 bits! *jiggle jiggle* on twitch.
The thing about Vtubers going fully nude was just an obvious rule break because Twitch rules on clothing (which didn't change with this update) already and still do apply to them. From the attire section of the rules that didn't change:
"Augmented reality avatars that translate real-life movement into digital characters are subject to this standard, as is cosplay and other costumes. For details on how this policy applies to IRL, outdoors, and body art, please continue reading."
Ah, the classic "tested without reading"
Reading is too hard for some people turns out.
Probably because the average Twitch streamer is a mentally stunted person that dropped out of high school. Most of these creators treat Twitch like they're just in a facetime with their besties and don't realize there are legal and financial implications to every decision they make on stream AND even off stream.
In summary, drawing naked anime women is still all good. Vtubers can just have a clothed model then draw NSFW of themselves
@@ticklord The average vtuber would rather die than read a TOS.
If they are gunna do this, they should be very strict with labelling this kind of content correctly, permaban if you get it wrong would be very understandable.
Hearing Wubby screaming in this video was a welcome surprise. That made me laugh so hard.
Excited to see how mogul moves utilizes these new rules in upcoming events! #luddong

#luddong made me laugh more than it should have 😂
3:24 the delivery of that line was too funny
That awkward pause right after then immediately goes onto the next topic had me laughing way too hard lmao
Thank you for enlightening me Lud. I will go to these channels and sub so i can constanly be shocked at what im seeing and nod disapovingly.
Also Art doesnt get many views unless a big streamer suddenly does it.
Thanks for the recommendations Lud
might have missed a censor at 4:33
Yeah, was about to say
pssshhhh, nahhhh, oh
oh my thats uh
certainly something
I’m shocked this made the news on twitch more than the fact that the website is totally SHUTTING DOWN in South Korea 😂
Twitch has been forced to completely cut out a *massive* demographic due to the country’s ridiculous lack of regulation on ISPs.
so much the worse for korea tbh
Actually not really a lack of regulation, just weird regulation.
@@0106johnny may as well not be regulated considering how much it favours the ISPs…
We’re gonna see more and more social media and online streaming services quitting the country I think.
web 3 is slowly beginning. @@ilz_y
Imagine twitch wanted to do this all along and sk wouldnt allow it xd
They reversed the policy. Twitch is a true gaming streamer site seeing how fast they did this speed run reversal.
Thanks for the YT recomendations Lud!
wow Pan Piano catchin strays from Ludwig
Twitch be like "here's our little finger" and streamers just take the whole arm
It is a super weird step. Especially since moderation requirements are rising sharply with the DSA from the European Union, granted they have like 4-5 months to implement, compared to UA-cam/TikTok who have till January. Good for Twitch to only have 30m users when the numbers where asked for.
4:32 LMAO THE THUMBNAIL UNDERNEATH THE CLIP
Coming home to see hentai being drawn on Twitch was not on my list of "expected things" today.
But a very welcome addition
I think Lud forgot to censor the 2 clip at 4:30
Twitch - We have officially allowed all the stuff irl streamers where already doing while successfully banning all the artists that followed our new tos, great job to us.
"artists" kekw
@@antediluviano I mean their art is very well done, its just very nsfw, but it's still art so they still technically are artists.
@@antediluvianoit’s still art, it takes talent
And they did a full reverse
I see why lud wants to stream on Twitch again
I think the difference between whats on UA-cam vs what's on Twitch is that Twitch does not hide it's 18+ content. If you go to Twitch right now, I guarntee your homepage will have an 18+ streamer on there. I only follow a few regular streamers there, and even I see it. And before anyone tries the "they're showing up because you follow them xD," I tried it in an incognito tab without logging in, and it was there too. If you want to find stuff like that kind of content on UA-cam, you kinda have to know it's there and go out of your way to find it. On Twitch, it's on the home page.
I tested it here and it didn't show up on the home page, BUT even in a anon tab, if you go to 'just chat' or 'art', you can see things like that. No age confirmation or anything required.
love that this video took _ takes. really great to see ludwig taking his time producing this one to make sure all his information was right :)
Glad to see Ludwig recognising Pan's incredible guitar skills
Hey Ludwig, there's some inappropriate art starting at 4:32, would suggest to blur that one! No need to thank me lmao
My boi taiga making a cameo at 5:15 🥲
3:25 i like the slight pause he has thinking about something to add to that 😂😂
6:28 bruh those thumbnails 🤣🤣 "this isn't yoga!"
One key difference is on UA-cam to watch 18+ content you have to be logged into an account with the age restrictions turned off and if you aren't logged in the thumbnails are blurred and hidden. On twitch you can just pop into an incognito tab and enter the arts category and instantly get hit with full frontal. Then to enter the stream you just have to click the "show mature content" button and you are in, no account needed. I recognize that its not THAT big of a barrier of entry, but it would be good if twitch at least implemented automatically blurring the thumbnail so i can browse the art category in public without feeling gross.
Dammit Twitch! I thought we were making progress
volume is a bit low on this one chief! Thanks for the great content!
Thx for covering this ludwig. {:
does this mean Jerma finally can do the "Show Ass" stream????
R.i.p
definitely still up on the homepage. i went to just chatting and the first three streams had asses in the thumbnail
true. I tested in a anon tab and get the 'content'
Akane Sensei making it to Ludwig's youtube home page is top tier and shows that he has been grinding learning Japanese. もっと頑張れ、Ludwigさん!
Regardless of the intent, its kinda crazy putting nudity on a site that has a hugeeeeee amount of minors on it.
Especially since I bet 99.9% of them lie about their age
@@Bitter3weetness huh so you want people private info to be more public then hmm
@@futureusername3468 You are literally doing the stereotypical so you hate waffles tweet...
Are we still pretending that the internet isn't chalk full of minor averse content? If a kid isn't old enough to know how to change the 18+ filter, then you're safe; if they're old enough, then they know how to find porn on the internet without heavy handed management from parents.
lots of streamers do polls or census' on their chats. I've seen cdawgs, ludwigs, atriocs, etc. Less than 5% of those chats are under 18. These chatters have no incentive to lie on those polls, since they are completely voluntary and no streamer is gonna ban them etc.
Twitch has never been a child friendly site, streamers talk about way out of pocket stuff all the time. The amount of minors on this site is vastly overestimated
New twitch policies are fine, as long as the streams are marked as 18+ and show a pop up before you enter saying “mature sexual content” and you have to click agree to bypass
Wow one of the best takes on the situation I've seen. I still think that it's a bad idea on twitch but at least there is another way to look at it.
thanks for the 2 banger channel suggestions luddy
I’m so glad you covered this because I was fucking flabbergasted when I heard about this 🤣
I think you missed the point. The thing about UA-cam is that you have to specifically search it. You can't accidentally find that stuff. This isn't an apples to apple comparison.
THEN when you search you are greeted with "sign in to UA-cam" cuz it wants to make sure your 18. On twitch, no sign in or on a 13 + account if u just happen to click the art section, all of a sudden ur greeted with breasts, furry c**is and all sorts of stuff. People not familiar with twitch ain't gonna know art = 18+ section. And that's just the art category we didn't mention just chatting or ASMR...
7:45 "Everybody who is at the top will have to go top less" 😭😭
Cant wait for the ball cam
I getting a headache everytime Twitch is in drama
The major controversy i saw was that a female streamer would have a nudity slip get banned for 2 days or a week then a guy with same or similar issues woul dget month or 3 moths or more
Ludwig got me saying “Oh shit that’s crazy wonder what Ludwig had to say about it” then looking up if he has a video on it.

only difference between kick and twitch is the gambling 💀
8:00 "Aaand, I can now do midrolls."

Also Amazon : Twitch now allows nudity
So stunning, so brave.
Bro on god I been needing to catch up on some new yoga techniques ty ludwig
The first one was actually pulling out of Korea
I know it’s a low bar but I am actually happy that twitch at least addressed it without there being a huge controversy that forced them to address it.
...and now we know why Mogul decided to get back on Twitch lol
what twitch needs to do is renew partnership with amazon or some company big into image recognition and work on and automated moderation system
*It's only a matter of time before Jakapiz gets on twitch now.*
Now twitch is filled with twerking comps labeled as 18+ twerk off/twerk asmr
i guess we really see why lud is going to do some more twitch content
Thank you for the Pan Piano recommendation
it will definitely spike for a second but like there will always be a market for both like most of the views in the other streams are from countries that have more website bans. the bigger question is will twitch then get banned in those countries. that will end up killing the “meta” of nudity on twitch
I watch Charlie’s videos for the jokes and fun he has making videos and the metaphors he uses to describe things are godly. I watch Ludwig to get to the point of the drama that’s going on 😂
I think your account should need to be 18+ to view any stream with the label 18+. And this type of content should only be allowed when you have the label 18+ and otherwise be against ToS. They should also do what youtube has done, where you need to verify your age to be able to view 18+. Otherwise I think this is "fine", so you can choose to see this or not. Obviously it would be easier to not allow this. But that wouldnt be a long term fix, as people always find loopholes.
Naruto watchparties will now become H-watchparties...
Im glad this explination vid was made.
I shall now regurgitate this information to my friends and strangers and then say "i learned this in a mogul mail video" so they dont think im *too* smart. 🤓
Of course Ludwig brings up Team UA-cam vs. Team Twitch in Dodgeball LOL
Well they banned it right back yesterday
This is a great change. Good for Twitch.
Thank you Ludwig 😂 My friend love yoga now 😎👍
I would also assume that part of the reason for this is to compete with other streaming platforms that are allowing this type of content
