I really wish that Sunrise had hired the Ocean cast to reprise their roles, especially as many of them are Frank Welker-level talented, and the Ocean Dub shows so many of the voice actors at their best. It’s not your typical anime dub with Funimation-esque typecasting, instead actual effort and uniqueness in the voices shines through, with some real highlights including Tabitha St. Germain’s God-sexy voice as Fllay Allster (she made the seduction feel so real and convincing, and managed to in the minds of many including myself out-voice act HOUKO KUWASHIMA), Andrew Francis absolutely chewing the scenery as Murata Azrael (and Mark Oliver as Rau Le Creuset-ESPECIALLY during villain speeches), the sense of indomitable spirit yet realistically human war-weariness that Trevor Devall and Lisa Ann Beley brought to the table as Mu La Flaga and Murrue Ramius, the explosive pent up wrath dripping from Andrew Kavadas’ voice in every line of dialogue spoken by Patrick Zala, the character dynamic between Athrun, Nichol, Yzak, and Dearka so effortlessly conveyed by Sam Vincent, Gabe Khouth (R.I.P.), Michael Adamthwaite, and Brad Swaile, and countless other examples. The reason why Star Saber is a religious zealot in this is that James Roberts (The writer of More Than Meets the Eye) used to be part of a Transformers UK Fanclub Transmasters UK and they wrote fan fiction, in these fans stories, Star Saber was Optimus Prime's brother and a horrible villain (at least from what I remember) but not a religious zealot.

@@cybermang878 Him caring for his troops is a nice change of pace for a named Decepticon leader and seems to be based off his manga incarnation rather than the animated version which is more than I can say for IDW Saber. If anything, he was rather underused as a character but at least he avoided the typical IDW problem where a character’s written inconsistently between writers when John Barber isn’t about.

there are 2 Star Sabers. #1 is the original from Transformers Victory who is basically Optimus(Convoy in Japan) if Optimus used a badass sword instead of a ball and chain(plus an oversized hand gun). #2 is the IDW interpretation(thats putting it lightly) of the character. As you can no doubt tell,this Star Saber is a religious fanatic,bordering on being psychotic. So instead of "Burning Justice" its "Burning Heretics"(to quote the TFWiki).Both are well developed characters in they're own ways. I prefer the TFV Star Saber myself,but to each his own. Some people like crazy,religious nutjobs and thats okay. Some people enjoy cheesy Saturday morning justice,like me. I've never bought into the notion of primal infallibility; I think that sometimes, God gets it wrong.
