The new armor system is actually a lot more complicated than it seems at first glance. Tanks don't need to explode to be dead and well placed shells render tanks useless in 1-4 shots. The shrapnel and spalling also isn't overexaggerated like in War Thunder so you really gotta know your tanks, ammo types, and shot placement

Beyond the Wire literally only gets a couple hundred players a week, but gets updated like crazy.
I know it doesn't bring as much views as hoi content, but it's always nice to see something different from the usual hoi or even other paradox games. Keep up the good work my dude
There was a mod in development but the devs basically last-minute cancelled the mod becauss they wanted to make a game instead. We were so close to greatness but they got too in over their heads and now god knows if the mod will ever be finished

It was a specialist tank designed to take out fortifications so it wasnt meant to be mass produced. And the reliability suffered greatly towards the end of the war due to it being upgunned and uparmoured.

On the other hand it probably prevented defeat in 1944 just by giving the Panzer Divisions something that was still sharp enough to make Soviet Commanders think twice about just charging Tank and Mechanized Corps as far as they could go. (Even as late as 1944 the average Panzer Division could still inflict bloody losses on an overextended front) The last variant (J) was literally designed to simplify production owing to how expensive the H model had become. Not quite but nearly as much as a the Panther-for a tank with nowhere near the Panther's potential-. I guess that the Panzer IV survived at all past 1943 was entirely due to Guderian though.
I get flashbacks to playing "Laserdome" in the army as a Strf9040 driver in out company vs the Strv122 company in Boden Sweden in the middle of winter. We had a LOL moment when suddenly an anti tank helicopter hovered next to us (like 10 m away and 5m off the ground) and we had not spotted it or heard it. And as we turned the turret the batteries went flat so the gunner had to hand crank the turret the rest of the way before i could connect and leech off the starter batteries and and get internal power back. (the CV90 starter batteries are only for the engine so you can always start the vehicle, the batteries for internal power are different and those had run flat)
You don't have to shoot tanks until they explode to kill them. Also some British tanks have internal bulkheads like the cromwell which greatly reduces the effectiveness of the German's APHE type rounds

Maybe on the eastern front. Though you also lose a huge amount of tanks to breakdowns and the lack of spare parts.

The Panzer 4 costed as many man hours as a Panther bruh, it was far from the best tank of the war.
It was still a mid-1930's vehicle updated and kept at parity to M4s and T-34s, that's pretty impressive in itself.
